So, here in California, the end of Fire Season is marked by the start of Flash Flood Season. In fact, I accidentally played Noah to an entire colony of ants, having rested my folded up umbrella on the ground while waiting under a bus shelter last night. Got off the bus at the destination, opened by umbrella like you normally do in the rain, and the entire thing looked like that television static snow. Naturally, I left the umbrella out on the patio to dry, and they were gone by morning. On the one hand, I've basically transplanted an entire colony of ants into my apartment building. On the other, I am now God of the Formicidae.

If someone asks if you're a God, you bring the marshmallows.

Hey, so long as it's not some religion of Formicidae Dorylus spp or Formicidae Solenopsis spp that you're god to, we're good. You start transporting those guys around, and we've got issues!

Your apartment has a produce section?

Okay so as some of you seemed unaware of what cuppa means, cuppa means a cup of tea.

Here is how you make a proper cup of tea.

1. Boil the kettle and warm the teapot by sloshing a little boiling water in it.

2. Allow one heaped tsp of loose leaf tea per cup plus one for the pot.

3. Pour in boiling water and steep for 5 mins.

4. It doesn't matter if you pour tea over milk or pour milk into the tea. However if you try to use a microwave to make tea, the UK is technically allowed to send an MI6 death squad after you.

Sounds amazing. But what if I add honey? Is that as bad as microwaving?

Put bag in cup, add hot water, take bag out of cup, add milk and/or sugar to taste, stir.

I'm going to guess it's bad to just pour the cup right from the kettle? Tea in cup, boiling water in cup, done?

I mean... I'm only asking for a friend.

I definitely wouldn't dream of diverging at the very first step.

Eh, teabags are absolutely fine but I really would reccomend trying loose leaf tea. It really is better.

Warming the pot seems to help. Dunno why. You can get infusers now if you don't make enough loose leaf tea to splurge on a pot.

Right. Lesson on mentioning people. Instead of guessing, and sometimes getting the name wrong, use the @ symbol. It even says it below the text box. So if I wanted to welcome Barddrolandia to Forest, I would just put @Barddrolandia. In your case, the issue was you put "The Republic of" in the brackets. Don't, it'll do that on it's own.

Green tea is absolutely my favorite, speaking of tea. I must admit, though, I don't got no fancy kettle, nor teapot, neither. I just use teabags and the microwave, 'cause Murica, or something.

The best is pulling up to the fast food chain in one's SUV and getting handed a large iced tea-and-flavored-sugar monstrosity for several times what said beverage is worth, and within an hour, throwing out the one-use, plastic cup.

Long after I and my tea are gone, the casually-tossed plastic cup shall go on as a testament to our lovely society.

EDIT:

Teabags are also environmentally problematic. Though I can't be too preachy here - I don't turn cups of tea that are made with them.
