The reason abortion was brought up was because in the United States, abortion in the first trimester declared as a right not protected by the constitution. Then, even early abortion got banned places. When that happened, multiple women (and sometimes children) had to travel to different states as their local abortion providers were closing doors. I assume a large chunk of Europeians are American, so it became a big problem.

well I don't know how it works there in the US

But here in Brazil, abortion is only allowed if there has been a rape or the mother's life is in danger.

(And we don't have that every state can have a law)

in some american places, abortion is fully banned in all stages, even if it was a rape or if it was incest.
