1. Okay, so, if you haven't heard, (Even CNN and NBC picked this up), country music band The Dixie Chicks recently dropped the word "Dixie" from their name, even though the word "Chicks" is probably more offensive than Dixie. I'll say more about the south, sometimes referred to as "Dixie" later.
2. Disney just got rid of the Song of The South theme on their Splash Mountain ride, and replaced it with - wait for it - The Princess and the Frog. So, a ride that has NOTHING to do with that movie, and is about a mountain in the backwoods of the Deep South, now has a talking frog in it...
3. The House is voting on a bill to grant statehood to Washington DC. This would mean the flag, and some..other stuff, would have to be changed. Unlike Senate Republicans and President Trump, I actually agree with the Dems for once. But, if DC (A solid blue area in elections) is allowed to become a state, why not Puerto Rico? #DCStatehood

Okay. Yeah, I think Confederate statues should be moved to museums. Not celebrated in the Town Square. Not destroyed, because you shouldn't destroy history. But, come on. Vandalizing and destroying statues of GEORGE WASHINGTON? GENERAL GRANT? And, hah, you're going to think I'm kidding, but - ABRAHAM. F*CKING. LINCOLN. Yes, THESE "PROTESTERS" ARE DESTROYING STATUES OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN, THE SAME LINCOLN WHO FREED AMERICA'S SLAVES. Come on, we shouldn't need National Guard troops defending the LINCOLN MEMORIAL. Seriously. I get that our history was bad, and we should be ashamed of it. But we shouldn't attempt to destroy it or forget it. What's next, destroying the White House because it has the word "White" in it?
Hello, I'm Regnum Italiae and you might remember me from such masterpieces like "Once Upon a Time on Eurocord" or "The Lord of the Smervs".
So, who am I? Well, I am an Italian guy who has been a member of Europe since the very first day of the existence of this nation on 19 July 2016. In the course of 2018, I've progressively become more and more active both on the RMB and on Europe's Discord Server even engaging in some RP. During my one-year long term as Commissioner from January 2019 to January 2020, I authored the Advisor Dismissal Act 2019 in January and the Message Board Moderation Regulations in May, co-authored the Commission (Term Limit) Act 2019 in November and patronized the RMB Moderation Act 2019 in March along with various others initiatives like the Recognition Act 2019 in April and the MOE Award to Laver Island and the GCOE Award to Imperium Anglorum in summer. During my last term, I authored the Telegram (Campaign) Act and its amendment, the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act with Satherland, and the Moderation (Amendment) Act. Furthermore, I'm serving as European Ambassador to the International Democratic Union since January 2019 and I'm writing for EuroNews since last December. Of course, I've been through a few failures, like the long-promised Citizen Initiative Act and the Defence Office Act, but failure is part of living and I plan to keep up with my work till I can, in fact, if I get elected this will be my sixth term as Commissioner.
And what do I want to do? Again a bring a mixture of projects to deal with a couple of issues highlighted in the last few months. Security, culture and regulations will be my keywords during my term. But now, you would ask, how and what I plan to do? Let me show you.
The Security Act. After the failure of the Defence Office Act, I aim to rewrite the said bill to achieve a better and less controversial result. To improve our security both inside and from the outside an expansion of the cabinet is, in my honest opinion, a quick and easy solution. The Security Secretary will be granted authority over Polls, Border Control and Communication and will be specifically tasked to defend the region against trolls and eventual raids. He won't be part of the Moderation Committee to avoid a disequilibrium of the influence in favour of the executive (as my original plan for the DefSec provided). He will manage only our internal security issues without any authority over military or defence aspects. Think of it as a Police Chief, helping and coordinating efforts in home security.
The Culture Act. We have seen a growth in the number of events our citizenship has crafted, like football leagues, writing competitions, electoral debates and song contests. I want to give people the opportunity to have their cultural event sponsored by the government and, for both state-sanctioned and sponsored events, the possibility to be displayed on the WFE of our Region. My aim is to make these kinds of events more known and participated in our community and beyond.
The Telegram (Bills) Act. After having regulated IFVs in regards of elections, I want to regulate the one for bills too. No more telegram bombing to reach quorum and better-delivered information to ensure a conscientious and quick vote.
But, do I plan further actions? As always, I'm keen to cooperate with my colleagues and to support any ideas YOU may propose and to help you get your bills done, as I did with Satherland. Our laws do not provide a framework for petitions but YOU can always send one either directly to ME, if elected, or to the Commission. Your suggestions are welcomed and I'm eager to know what YOU think could improve OUR region.
