"President Geiger? This is Overseer Zara speaking...I have a message from Emergency Prime Minister Andrew Montgomery...unfortunately, due to the...difficult nature of our position, we'll have to work with letters, transmissions from Ka'zul to Augusta are known to intersect with a region of space possibly under the Control of the Primaeri, and without Galaria and Vanguard to act as relays to bypass this obstruction, we've had to resort to more crude means...do not be alarmed, but a letter should be appearing soon; he will explain the current situation that has followed. Unfortunately, I have to remove the last of the...rebellious, revanchist and counter-revolutionary elements within this organisation that sought to overturn both the Federation and the Sacred Constitution.

"Also, on a more personal note, sorry for parroting Rex's ideology...I'm sure you understand when maneuvering around a poweful and...how do we say...unhinged, man...can be quite dangerous...I don't expect you to forgive me, I simply ask that you understand."

A small tear in reality appeared in the far corner of the room, dropping to the floor was a letter. When Geiger picked it up, it was still warm to the touch.

Opening it up, he was presented with an impressive, if a bit shaky and unrefined, copperplate handwriting.

Dear President Geiger.

Unfortunately, it appears the political upheaval has spread to what we believed to be a secure organisation. This is as much a concern and a dissapointment to you as it is to me, perhaps moreso in my regard due to the very unstable situation of the federation. We've been experiencing similar gung-ho elements across the remaining parts of our armed forces, as well as political and societal elements; the sudden and abrupt defeat of our forces on all fronts caused a lot of shock, and many people are beginning to point the finger of blame in varying directions, with some pointing to democracy.

However, these are excuses, quite a few excuses in fact, and I must both apologise to you for Rex Locksworth for going rogue, as well as thank you and the Cicadia for standing up to him; if he was to simply be able to fire upon this robotic entity Overseer Zara informs me of, it may have emboldened him and possibly led to the assasination of myself and the remnants of the Federal Parliment. You have my thanks, and my apology. Likewise, you have my assurances that the Federation does not stand for Rex's actions, and violation of the Constitution of the Federation as written by the Founding Father, William Kasel (may he Rest In Peace).

Unfortunately, we are spread a bit thin and fighting a lot of fires at home, and therefore all we can offer is the experimental "Seraphs" of Project Glitter to assist you in these battles, as well as Project Bluescreem (Refer to Overseer Zara for further information). Likewise, if you do eventually come across Jonathan down there, keep him safe until we can send a ship to pick him up, or lock onto him and rift him back to us. Due to the infighting in our parliment and the dangerous situation we are in, that is all I can offer and more than I am comfortable sparing.

For the interim, I place my faith in Zara, due to the fact that she's William Kasel's cousin, I daresay she posesses the same zeal for his works as William himself did. Likewise, rest assured, once this situation has been dealt with, we shall review COURIER more thoroughly, and make several reforms to ensure a situation like this never happens again.

Corali shook her head.
"There...is a way to remove it, but it is very dangerous. It could be deadly. I don't think Delegata intends to kill me, but I'm not sure she would go out of her way to save me. At that point it is better to just let the spell run its course."

Nelly would continue hugging Vara close. As she did so, and through no action of Nelly, Vara remembered her past as her mother would hold her before her untimely death. The embrace was similar in it's feeling, even if it was not identical; she felt...Nelly had a genuine concern for her health and her wellbeing.

Nelly continued to softly coo to Vara, telling her how proud she was of her, and how she was sorry she couldn't do more. After some time, she softly began to stroke Vara's hair. The Emperor was wrong; He was not the only person who would treat her with respect, the proof was holding her right now, softly murmuring words of encouragement and apology.

Vara thought back to her mother more, and she realized that she missed those feelings. She remembered curling up in her mother's lap as her mother slowly sang her to sleep, her mother holding her and stroking her hair similar to how Nelly was now. Nelly holding her now was the closest thing she had felt to a mother's love in over thirty years.

A part of her said that she should focus, that she should be looking for a way to twist this to her advantage, to her will, but another part said that there was nothing that could be gained from a hug, that she should try to make the most it from an emotional perspective, and no other way. Vara listened to the latter, and a feeling of bliss came over her.

One of the nurses stopped to answer a few questions. The nurse explained the nature of their biology, which indeed seemed to be the same as any other human. The nurse said that the sun was a bit more hostile on this planet than others, especially near the equator as they were. However, the bigger issue was that the skin pigments that the Aerlanicans have was, well, wrong, and an orange pigment rather than brown would be better.

As for the origins, the nurse explained that their civilization had been founded on this planet thousands of years ago by their god, who bestowed the people with many gifts that they needed to survive and thrive, including their orange skin and the technology of spaceflight.

"Okay then." Sighed Erich as he conjured up a large red toolbox. "This may be a while, given that I don't have the manpower or desire to destroy your armor in case there is ever a reason to reattach it in part or in whole. At the very least, Cicada could reuse it for another one of their projects. In the meantime, please stay very still. I know it will seem like an endless procedure, but if you want, I can give you a television to watch in the meantime."

"Do you really think those tiny hand tools will be enough to remove MK1a's armor?" Asked Ta'lhqejk as they suspiciously eyed the toolbox.

"Probably. There may be a few larger screws and the like, but most of the armor's fastenings will be plate joining rivets, weld seams, or other fastenings hidden under a cleaver layering of armor. Worst comes to worst I simply will resort to an acetylene torch, an angle grinder, and a rivet puller." Responded Erich as he opened the toolbox and checked the equipment he had inside.

"Absolutely certain? From what I can tell, Mk1a's armor probably has screws hidden beneath cover pannels or slots, and then those screws are probably locked in place with a locking mechanism. Alternatively, all the armor is joined together with exploding bolts, and then attached to MK1a directly with longer screws that go into hardpoints." Explained Ta'lhqejk as Erich surveyed Mk1a.

"All of which is probably linked to proprietary screws or the like." Mused Erich. "Bloody hell! This is getting very bloody complicated!" He exclaimed in a mix of a chuckle and a disgruntled shout. "Great, great. Having a team of engineers to help me would be very useful for this. It would almost be easier to do anything but this! Oh well, I may as well start if I am to undertake this by my own conviction."

"I could help," Ta'lhqejk suggested glumly.

"The offer is appreciated, but no thank you." Replied Erich.

"In which case, I bid both of you farewell. I have other matters to attend to." Said Ta'lhqejk before disappearing into thin air.

"Now!" Erich yelled as he jumped off MK1a's hand while seemingly growing in size exponentially until he has easily a solid fifteen meters in both height and diameter. "Stay still and don't flinch. If you move, I can assure you this will hurt a whole lot more."

"Wait, what..." Mk1a began to say before they were silenced by their own screech as Erich ripped off a piece of leg armor without much effort, before quickly bandaging up the areas where it was clear that there were wounds.

"I told you not to squirm. This isn't a glorious process; bite the bullet and hold still." He demanded after finishing his first aid ad as he prepared to remove another piece of armor.

"I see." Mused Geiger as he quickly read the letter.

Silence reigned for at least a minute over the line while the president read the letter in total silence. The chatter of patrons, the clatter of dishes, and the sound of chopping were clearly audible to Overseer Zara.

"There is scarce little I can say at this moment save that very I am disappointed. COURIER and Aerlanica need to sort themselves out to ensure a situation like this does not occur again. I am willing to assist Aerlanica in the process of stabilizing and restoring its nationhood and environment, however, these recent events do not inspire confidence or respect. I am not impressed in the slightest by what Rex demonstrated in his actions and beliefs, and I do hope that you can discharge your duties more faithfully. There is nothing else for me to say. If you wish to communicate with me again, please request my mobile number from my staff."

There was another monetary pause, during which Zara could hear Geiger sigh.

"Please send me the contact information of the captain of the ship that was assaulted by Rex's men. I would like to have a word with him in a direct manner of communication and not through third-party interlocutors."

"Farewell until we speak again." He said.

The line then went dead. Clearly, Geiger had hung up.

What Erich revealed beneath as CEVA-00 Mk1a squirmed significantly from the pain was scaled skin. While the scales themselves were flexible and still in the process of growing tougher, they were scales nether the less. This revealed some reptilian, or draconic, heritage to her formation, or at least one of the (voluntary or involuntary) doners of her genetics.

Erich had pulled a few free, and as he did so, he felt Mk1a's pain shift into frustration.

"I asked you to take the armour off, not tear me apart you...you...ugh!"

She slammed a fist into the sand, sending up a plume of the fine material.

"At least give me warning next time, ok? I can feel it you kn-ah! hey! I said give me warning!"

"I told you to hold still." Erich retorted, casting aside another piece of armour.

"How do you expect me to hold still if I have no warning?"

Under the armor, Erich finds numerous hardpoints implanted in CEVA-00 Mark Iα's skin. Numerous bolts hold the armor to the hardpoints. Also implanted in her skin are a massive number of sensors and their associated cables, the cables leading to a computer of sorts just behind her S2 core. Also behind the S2 core is the plug cavity, with a slightly burnt Dummy Plug still present. Minor scorching of the plug cavity's internal surfaces, a result of the failed forced ejection of the Dummy Plug, is also present.
Removing the chest armor reveals her S2 core, a large red spherical organ of sorts with an unusual Celestial sheen.
Removal of the armor on her upper back and back of the neck proves to be problematic due to said armor being part of the plug insertion/ejection system. Parts of the armor are mounted directly on an artificial section of her spine that serves as the cover/hatch for the plug cavity, meaning ripping said armor off is likely to damage the spinal cord and the neural contacts of the cover/hatch that connects her brain to the rest of her body, paralyzing her from the neck down.

After listening to the description, the nurse said that their god was different.

Nelly smiled and stood up, slowly escorting Vara into her bedroom.

The first time she entered Nelly's personal quarters, Vara was met with a modest, if upper class, room; purple, toe hugging carpet that ever so softly tickled the soles of their feet coverd the floor, matching in hue to the cieling, but contrasting with the brown sidings and the cream walls that bore windows. Nelly's bed was nestled at the far side of the room, flanked by two dark wood end tables and two windows currently hidden by thick purple curtains, upon which rested (once again) purple silk sheets, and a small gag, which Nelly hastily slipped into the draws of one of the end tables. A dresser was pressed against the wall to her right as she entered the room, upon which was a few personal effects; a vase of purple tulips, a small jewellrey box, a deck of tarot cards, a small book (Titled "The Adventures of Penelopie Pearl; The Castle of the Mad Farnham King"), a camera and three picture frames.

One picture frame had a picture of Nelly standing aside a crowd of three hundred Succubi, all smiling either sadistically, lustfully, or flirtatiously. Vara could not see herself in the image, but could make out Ophelia, Tabitha, Harmony, Melody and Judy. All of them were dressed in Iblion's expected "uniform" if it could even be called that.

The second was a monochromatic picture of Nelly standing tall in a dress which was either grey or a light colour. It had a deep V cut that reached almost to her belly button, and a sidepart revealing some semblances of her leg. She was smiling, standing tall, and wearing a tasteful choker around her neck, as well as a gold pendant.

The third was a picture of Nelly and an unidentified Incubi with blue skin and dark brown hair sunning themselves on a beach of sorts; she could see the eyecatching muscles, the chiseled features and abs, as well as the horns that spiralled upwards proudly, and deduced this must be either a high ranking Incubi, or a Patriarch (possibly Calivan, as Ophelia said). Nelly was now resting on a towel, wearing a two piece, crimson bikini that just barely even covered her body, while the Incubi was wearing a loose pair of black board shorts. Both were wearing sunglasses.

On the other side was a tall wardrobe, currently closed, and flanked by two windows, and opposite the wall to the bed was a painting; it was landscape, featuring a large oak tree that dominated the left side of the picture before the hill it stood upon merged into a river. Across this river was a man dressed in gear of the explorers of old, gazing up at the edge of a large forest that blotted out the twilight sky.

"Alright, here we are." Nelly said, finalising her preparations of the matress that now lay at the foot of her four poster bed. "It's not much, but I tried to make it as comfortable as I could."

As Erich continued to remove the Armour, he began to see...well...more of Mk1a. He could see that she was very much a female, bearing both primary and secondary sex characteristics of females. Indeed, the Armour that was placed on her would have been quite uncomfortable due to it being very much too tight in many places. It got a bit awkward at stages, due to the fact Erich eventually began working close to these parts, and out of common decency he avoided touching these areas unwarranted. Mk1a, with no concept of decency and no idea about the taboo of public nudity, didn't seem to mind or understand Erich's discomfort, and decided it was because he wanted to be extra careful in areas.

Removal of her head armour revealed three intelligent, blue eyes (once again, reptilian) with hints of red to their edges. They were young, very young, in appearance, and had a modicum of fear, confusion, but bluntness to them. Once the helmet was removed, she moved her jaw, revealing rows of sharp, impecibly maintained teeth. She opened her mouth, as if to speak, and only managed a grunt. Frustrated, she let out a growl and shook her head, a stormy look on her now visible features.

"I know how to speak, but I can't... a sigh, "Whatever...I'll manage it one day."

Once Erich got to her back side, he saw the sight of the discomfort that CEVA-Mk1a noted; she was growing a tail. While little more than a slight bump in her skin, it definately was where her tailbone was.

Finally, as Erich began to try and peel off the armour attached to her spine, she began to squeal.

"Stop, Stop, Stop, STOP!"

She let out an earsplitting roar as she tore away from Erich, clutching her spine, she shivered.

"It's tugging on the whole spine...it's tugging on the whole spine..."

Erich frowned.

"Is there any way to remove it?"

CEVA-Mk1a paused.

"I...I don't...it wraps around my entire spinal chord...I don't know what they did with the spine I was born with but...I don't think they kept it around for nostalgia..."

She swallowed.

"We'll keep the spine...I guess...out of necessity."

"Fine." Erich sighed with a groan in his voice as he shrunk back down to his more compact size. "This is really all I can do for you in terms of removing armor. The spine obviously can't go, so that stays on. Other than that, you're free to do as you wish given the constraints of your current size."

Glancing at the beach, he sighed monetarily before walking into the waves that gently lapped the beach. He turned around and looked at MK1a momentarily before proceeding into deeper waters until it was clear that he was bobbing in the surf. At this point, he conjured up a small jet-powered seaplane. Sharp in shape and bobbing gently in the surf, Erich climbed in swiftly. He closed the canopy behind him and started up the engines with a loud whine as the turbine compressors spooled up.

Then, the roar of jet engines filled the air as the plane rocketed away from the beach while gradually gaining altitude amid the peaks and valleys of waves. Once it had cleared the waves, the plane climbed quickly into the sky, leaving a streak of hot white vapor in its tracks. Climbing further and further, the plane finally disappeared from view behind some clouds. And shortly thereafter, a loud double-boom filled the air.

Erich was long gone from New Franco.

"Great, now they misunderstood my request. I requested their contact information, not that they call me." He hissed under his breath.

"You could simply defer the call." Mezer pointed out.

"Ought I? It may be considered rude." Replied Geiger after taking a sip of iced tea.

"Hardly. If they didn't follow your request, you are within bounds to act within your discretion. Otherwise, you could simply make up an excuse for not taking the call such as another patron needing to use the phone." Suggested Mezer as Geiger suddenly smiled.

"Yes, yes. You go play that part and brusquely deliver the news." He told Mezer, who simply chuckled.

"Sure, why not. I did forget to tell my wife and kids that I was in charge of dinner tonight." Mezer said while getting up from the table. "May as well make the excuse very believable."

The Prime Minister made his way to the maître d's desk to ask for the phone. Once there, he found the maître d' clearly keeping the line on hold for Geiger. Mezer thus took it into his hands to follow through on the ridiculous plan he had come up with Geiger. With a hand gesture, he requested the phone, to which the maître d' responded with a mouthed yet voiceless: "no."

"Excuse me, I need the phone now. I don't particularly care who is on the other end of the line, or who the call is for." He brusquely told the maître d'.

"The call is for the president." They replied as Mezer rolled his eyes.

"And I'm the Prime Minister. Please give me the phone." He demanded firmly yet kindly enough.

"Fine." Said the maître d' reluctantly as he handed Mezer the phone.

"Thank you." Replied Mezer as he grabbed the handest while pressing on the "clear line" button.

The line went dead for the crew of the FSC Intrepid as Mezer did this.

It was late in the evening by the time Spencer arrived in Kemptburge in an ambulance. Amid verdant greenery, towering spires, and ornate buildings, the city would have made an impression on Spencer had he not been in a medically induced coma. Thus, he was transported in relative silence to the Kemptburge University Hospital, a veritable institution housed in an imposing building that predated Shingukai rule in this area. Like many things in Kemptburge, the Kemptburge University Hospital harkens back to the era of Monsonian imperial rule.

Once in the hospital, medical officials would see that Spencer is placed in a single room. There the process of awakening him from the coma commences. He is removed from the IV drip that contained the drug mixture used to put him into the coma and is then put on a basic saline IV drip. Besides this, Spencer is more or less left alone to heal and awaken from the medically induced coma. Notably, tissue metabolism-enhancing drugs are injected into Spencer via a single dose to help his tissues in emerging from the coma in a swifter and healthier manner. The goal was to reduce the after-effects of temporary congnative impairment.

By early in the morning the next day, as the sun rises over the cities of Kemptburge and Rustalsburge and their many spires, Spencer's eyes flicker open. Sunlight streams in through his window, warm summer air both inside and outside the hotel cozily coaxing him from his sleep.

Sitting next to him was Alena, heavily exhausted after doubling her efforts to accelerate his healing, and looking gaunt, pale and sickly, she smiled, stood up, and left the room to inform a doctor Spencer was awake.

Spencer's eyes slowly opened as he looked around the room. His throbing headache remained, and his agony across his body still lingered as he blinked several hundred times. Due to his poor eyesight without his glasses, everything remained an indescernable blur, however a quick search with his hand resulted in him finding his tome. He maneuvered his jaw, the ventilator removed due to his restored diaphragm. Still, he wheezed; one lung was still damaged and was yet to heal.

He searched around the side table for his glasses, for a few minutes before eventually finding the tangled, broken remains of them. With a sigh, he opened the book to a page covered with braille. His fingers ran across the bumps in the page as he softly recited an incantation. A flare of light appeared in his blurred vision, and he placed his now restored glasses upon his head.

He looked around his room, rubbing his chin which bore for the first time in his life a slight, pubescent stubble. Moving was still painful, and his leg was still damaged considerably, but still, for the most part, he was better than he was before.

He opened his book and in the pages was a picture of a girl; dressed in a black dress and smiling back at him, her features were clearly Tyramonian. With a wistful smile, he placed a hand upon the image.

Their god was called Savareon, a god who held great power, who carried his people across the stars to a new world, who crafted the worlds to make them safe and prosperous, who remade the people to be better, and who gave the people many gifts. The Aerlanicans are provided with some clothes to cover their skin as well as wide-brimmed hats, which means that those healthy enough to walk can now spend more time outside in the sun safely.

Luca shrugs. “Well, trusting me is probably a mistake, but I’ll do my best.” He gives a cheeky wink. “We should probably start by finishing breakfast—“ he gestures to the breakfast sitting on their table, slowly getting cold, “then we can go to the museums and shopping, and maybe go skating or something later.”

"That was cold." Remarked Geiger.

"Hey, it was necessary." Mezer replied.

"Anyhow, dessert. Are you in the mood?" Asked the president.

"Not particularly. Plus, we ought to get back to work." The prime minister replied.

"Right then," Geiger said as he gestured discreetly for the check. "Then let us not be idle in our claims."

--------------------------------

"Yes, yes. I've noted your contact information down and will ensure it reaches the president." Replied the secretary at the other end of the line. "The president is currently not in the office due to a work-related meeting, but I'm sure he will contact you as soon as possible given his busy schedule as of late."

The secretary then hung up. They tore off the sheet of paper with the information written on it and walked it over to the desk of the president, where it was placed more or less at the center of his black leather ink blotter. After doing so, the secretary returned to their desk and logged the call from the FSC Intrepid into their call logbook under the category of "possibly suspicious" due to its sudden and seemingly random nature.

"Privijet, dijež pridalnije." Said a doctor as they walked in with a clipboard in hand, alongside Alena. Dressed in a white coat and with a receded hairline that left the top of their head bald (revealing some liver spots), a goatee that matched their hair color graced the front of their face. Wire-frame glasses hang from a lanyard, ostensibly indicating their use as reading glasses. "I am Doctor Wilhelm Mertegašte, and I will be your head doctor for the rest of your time here. My specialty is reconstructive surgery, it is something I've been doing for the nearly four decades my career has spanned. Anyhow, you must be Spencer, right? How are you doing this morning?"

Silence filled the air for just long enough for Spencer to begin to formulate an answer before Dr. Mertegašte spoke again.

"It sounds like you've encountered severe lung trauma that hasn't quite been remediated yet. That should be on the top priorities list along with your leg. Once that is done, a quick inspection of the heart to make sure there is nothing wrong there should suffice to give you a clean bill of health for physical therapy. The rest of your ailments can be treated once you've regained sufficient mobility, stamina, and health. My concern right now is that you are not in the best state health-wise, and that needs to be addressed immediately."

The strangers agree to show them.

The flying ship they use to travel north seems to use the same technology as the spaceships, whatever that may be. These ships, however, include some metal parts and have many more windows, and they are more comfortable overall.

As the world turns white with the northern ice, the Aerlanicans see countless perfect cones of metal, smooth and steep enough so as to be quite impossible to climb, if not for the helical ramp each had, spiraling up to the top. Each cone is identical, hundreds of meters tall, with several kilometers between them. The strangers merely say that the cones were one of the gifts that provide a protection to the people, though they don't specify what sort of protection.

The Aerlanicans are given warm animal skin coats as they depart once they arrive at the temple. The temple is a towering cathedral of pure gold and platinum, nothing else. The strangers instruct the Aerlanicans to be extremely respectful. As they enter the temple, they are met with rows and rows of seats that could fit thousands of people. The walls hold empty spots for great paintings, which the strangers explain are currently being worked on. All the seats face an altar, behind which is a platinum statue of a robed man over 10m tall. The man is holding a large dark orb above his head with both hands. Looking into the orb, one can see small, bright specks of light, like stars in space. The orb is looks almost like a miniaturized universe. The strangers point to the statue and say that Savareon's soul resides within it.

Spencer nodded slowly.

"I understand." he said as he awkwardly placed the book on the side table, no longer crippled by mind shattering agony but still impeded by mild pain. He winced has his strained and bruised muscles protested.

Spencer adjusted his glasses.
"How long with...Alena's help...will I be here? Last hospital I was in we were caught on by, well, my...a very bad man, and I'd like to at...at least get on my feet so movement in the event of another quick escape can be done...er...well...quicker than last time..."

He grimaced.
"Then again it wouldn't do much." he said softly.

Spencer shook his head, immediately regretted the action, and turned to face the doctor.

"So, Dr Wilhelm...ah...I'll leave you to it."

Alena nodded.
"Yes, Doctor...simply direct me what to do and I shall do it."

As the doctor looked over at the woman, he saw that she was looking pretty unhealthy, not in a sick sense, but she...looked as though she was being drained of her strength and vitality; her face was gaunt, her skin pale, her hair greying prematurely and her eyes clouded over. Not to mention her heavier than usual breathing, her general appearance of fatigue, and the bags underneath her eyes.

The Aerlanicans, suffice to say, are impressed. They ask the strangers if they built the temple, or if it was made by Savareon. Likewise, they asked what the orb was made of, or what it contained. Along with their questions, a few of the Aerlanicans asked what the cones were for.

They were, indeed, respectful of this faith, despite them being agnostic or atheistic themselves. The Strangers noticed this; a modicum of respect was on their features, but they certainly had a level of shrewdness or cynicism about them. Furthermore, the strangers noticed the Aerlanicans were not at all bothered by the cold temperatures, in fact, one could argue that they looked more comfortable in the biting cold than they did in the warmer temperatures.

For the first time in a very long time, Vara had a dream as she slept. In it, she was a little girl again, safe in her mother's arms. It wasn't much of a dream, but still, it was unusual.

CEVA-00 Mk1a, looking to the sky where Erich left, smiled.

"We're friends." She murmured in her mind.

She walked into the waves and sat down before she reached her mind out to Risato.

"Hey...you there?"

When Erich started removing CEVA-00 Mark Iα's armor, Cicada started moving into position to intervene until Risato told them not to. "Since CEVA 0 Mark 1a was made using Azerian's DNA and is sentient, it's extremely likely that her personality is similar to Azerian's. So far she has not harbored any ill will towards us despite how we treated it up to this point. It also seems that she has developed a relation with what I can assume is the Gongkuni's creation, along with the Gongkuni itself." says Risato. "Letting her be would be the best course of action for right now." Risato was speaking as Erich was removing CEVA-00 Mark Iα's armor.
As the armor was being removed, the sensors embedded in said armor along with the sensors in the CEVA's skin were transmitting their data to the Longinus, which interpreted the readings as the CEVA being damaged, prompting a number of alerts to pop up on the main screen of the Longinus's bridge. "The removal of CEVA 0 Mark 1a's S-Type equipment by the Gongkuni was rather uncalled for." says Inaki. "Coincidentally, problems regarding it started appearing several hours ago. The joint between the two gluteus plates and the sacral plate was being subjected to anomalous internal stresses that I suspect is related to the development of a tail. Going forward, we'll have to take her tail into account when outfitting her." says Risato before inputting a command into a terminal that suppresses the alerts regarding the "damage" being done to CEVA-00 Mark Iα.

Upon "hearing" CEVA-00 Mark Iα's message, Risato replies. "I am still here."

CEVA-00 Mk1a looked out across the waves, the setting sun making them orange.

"I'd...like you to come...sit with me on the beach...talk face to face."

Risato, after some deliberation with the other members of Cicadia, managed to land close to the CEVA. She wandered over to Mk1a and looked to her. Mk1a was gazing out across the water, slowly letting the waves lap up between her...well...what Risato assumed to be her toes...while her talons ran circles in the sand.

Without her armour, she looked like a female, humanoid version of Azerian, if a bit twisted and corrupted; an imperfect facsimilie if you will. It was as if her body was yet to decide if they wanted her to be human or dragon, and settled for an awkward and confusing decision inbetween; her breasts had developed beneath her armour, as well as her horns taking upon a slightly darker shade. Indeed, she could see the beginnings of her tail and also a widening of her thighs. Most her chest area had lost its scales, but her abendages, her neck, shoulders and head had developed much more harder scales, and she caught herself musing whether or not she (Mk1a) was going through some form of pubery; from afraid, demure and obedient entity, to a rebellious and headstrong idealist.

Their thoughts were interrupted as Mk1a spoke again.

"It's beautiful...isnt it." MK1a murmured. "The silence...the waves...the sand...feeling things with my own skin that isnt just metal or bakelite." she shivvered, a wave of bad memories rushing to her.

She looked down to Risato and sighed.

"I know...I know you...didn't expect me to exist, and you're stumbling around in the dark here," Mk1a said, "And I know if I didn't exist then life would be a lot easier for you...but...still, you never asked me what I wanted."

A hand ran itself across the remaining armour of her spine; forever to remain a part of her. It then touched the dummy plug; something so important to her, but so easy to remove.

"You just...all you did was do what your organisation wanted to do, without asking me if I wanted to do it...I never wanted to hurt people, or...accidently send them over the edge...I never wanted anything...I just...I...I just wanted to be free and that time where I got so...close to the surface before..." She trailed off, Risato could see the beginning of tears in her eyes. CEVA-00 Mk1a steeled herself, however, and she continued; "...before that damn material...I could move and I felt for the first time In my life freedom...I felt...freedom...and It was beautiful."

She looked to Risato.
"But...after all the things you, as in Cicada, has done to me...all the times you've butchered my body, threw me out of ships and got me blasted apart, scorned me, turned your nose at me, treated me as a mere posession and placed a gun to my head...I can't...bring myself to hate you.

"You were just confused...frightened...afraid." She continued, You didn't...understand and so you tried to control, compartmentalise, and restrain what I was...you followed the only protocol you knew, not knowing if it would work for something so vastly different to what you understood...and everytime I tried to go rogue, you only saw it as...an attempt to destroy you, or turn against you...but you didn't realise it was just me trying to be treated on the same footing as you.

She paused, and looked out across the water.

"I guess it's a bit like water; you swim differently in a pool than you do in a stormy ocean...right?"

She shook her head.
"Bad metaphor...but...anyway...I...I just wanted to say, I...while i'm not going to forget what you did...I am going to forgive you...and...If you still need a CEVA for a pilot...well...just ask and remember to say please and thank you, ok? I'm...an Individual."

She looked across the water.
"Also, you and Inaki are the closest thing I've to a foster mother and father...so...I was...wondering if you could...maybe give me a name? I can't...think of one, try as I might..."

The Aerlanicans were free to explore the public parts of the temple as long as they are respectful of the place. The Aerlanicans are informed that no assistance is needed in maintaining the building. There were a few locked doors, and it was explained that those areas were reserved for the priests.

The architecture is simultaneously extravagant and simplistic. It was extravagant in its large, sweeping shapes and geometry rising far up. It was simple in its lack relative lack of detailing. It was almost as if the designer was given unlimited resources but very limited time, or perhaps a very large budget which managed to be used up before any finishing touches could be added. Close examination revealed the entire structure to be made of platinum and gold, and one of the few Priests who was present proudly confirmed that no other materials were used in the main structure. The large windows on the walls near the ceiling that provided natural light were - according to the priests - thin sheets of flawless diamond.

The Aerlanicans were invited to pray and to join the religion. One of the Priests began to - essentially - give a sermon on the prophecy that one day Savareon would be freed, and he would work to spread his gifts to everyone in the universe, and there would be peace and prosperity for all time.
