Hey everyone! Welcome back to the CCA. That was quite an interesting 12 days worth of, well, nothingness. And convenient to occur right into the final stages of the World Cup. During the outage, we concluded the World Cup (join the discord for real-time communication, so you don't miss out on anything in the future!). You can find the results of the tournament on our forum thread, as usual, but you can also find details on its iiwiki page: https://iiwiki.us/wiki/2024_Viitaniemi_World_Cup Congratulations to Voeyetska for winning their first ever World Cup in a dramatic showdown with Zamastan. Greater Normark took third in a showdown to Allieu. |
viewtopic.php?p=41542357#p41542357 ZAKARABAN NEWS NETWORK Zalluabed's National News Source LIVE: Feyt Ayat seeks statehood at "recognition" summit
Should Feyt Ayat controlled territory gain autonomous status under international law, it will effectively have divided Zalluabed into three separate governing regions; Hisrea (controlled by the HPLF), Eastern Zalluabed (controlled by the Zakaraban-centered military regime), and the Feyt Ayat controlled territories. Depending on the outcome of the Qahazar front and its interpretations under international law, four governing regions exist, though the PRQ is not recognized as a legitimate governing body by any national government. Feyt Zalluabed Ayat, abbreviated FZA or FZM, translated to Free Zalluabed Movement, is a big-tent coalition of decentralized pro-democracy resistance militias in the Zalluabed civil war. It was founded shortly after the 2023 Zalluabed coup which saw democratically-elected President Husani Antar ousted from power and forced into exile in Albarine. The officers of the movement announced that the immediate priority of the rebellion was to safeguard the lives of protestors and civilians from the deadly crackdown by Saahir Salim's security apparatus; with the ultimate goal of accomplishing the objectives of the revolution, namely, the restoration of the Antar (or other democratically elected) government, and the overthrow of both the military regime and the monarchy. Feyt Zalluabed Ayat is highly organized and well-armed, and have adopted a military strategy of combining guerrilla tactics in the countryside and cities, with a tactical focus on armed action initially focused in the capital of Zakaraban and other major cities, to spread regime forces and their logistical chains thin in battles for urban centers, cause attrition in the security forces, degrade morale, and destabilize the regime. The FZA initially pursued a strategy of quickly eliminating the regime's top leadership; successfully assassinating Salim with Zamastanian support, former-President Zayyaan al-Akhtar, and top generals. Since the implementation of the ceasefire in January however, Feyt Ayat has been focused on fortifying its control of the region and setting up a well defended defacto border with Zakaraban-controlled regions. The rebels have received funding and intelligence support from multiple nations, namely Albarine, Emmiria, and other WEDA states. In other news

Post by Wallenland suppressed by Quetana. The United Kingdom of Wallenland Hello Taloa! So, firstly, I would suggest a medium-sized country similar or a bit less than Olsahemobka as a good starting size but obviously ask Quetana and secondly, look at the iiWiki: https://iiwiki.us/wiki/Category:Coalition_of_Crown_Albatross to gain some sense of the RP lore and try to join the Discord. viewtopic.php?p=41544841#p41544841 Heavy rains force evacuations along coast Weather officials say 1,000mm (39in) of rain has fallen on the coast since Friday, and Latilli's Meteorological Agency forecasts the rains will continue into next week. A further 350mm of rain is expected in the southern part of the island and 300mm in the northern part by Monday morning, with some areas predicted to get more than 80mm of rain every hour. The agency said a month's rainfall could hit parts of Selonia in just 24 hours. Further inland, the capital is also forecast to receive up to 250mm of rain in the same period. The rainy front is expected to hang over the entire country as a late spring storm bombards northwestern Nortua from the Samson Ocean. Last July, 19 people died in western Latilli in the country's worst flooding disaster in decades. It was the highest death toll caused by rainfall in Latilli since 1982. |

FELDKIRCH FEDERAL Austrolisia - Austrolis went into recession at the end of last month, according to the country's official statistics office. The Austrolisian Statistical Institute said the economy shrank by 2.4% in the first quarter of 2024, from the previous quarter. It followed a 1.6% drop the previous quarter, making two quarters of falling growth - the definition of recession. A series of trade disruptions due to the ongoing tensions in the Tarijar Strait sparked a steep fall in Austrolis' currency, making imports far more expensive. President Amanda Ferosan and members of her Liberal Party have entered into talks with conservative leaders on how to break deadlock on several energy projects whose inflated costs are believed to be a large factor in the sinking economy. |
viewtopic.php?p=41550038#p41550038 4/29/2024 Elbresia's economy on the mend after three years of stagnation The Elbresian economy could be on the mend after it fell into a shallow recession last year as it battled high inflation and interest rates. Elbresian economic forecasters have sited PMI rates increasing after years of slowed activity. Allhofen- According to economic forecasters, the Elbresian economy has started to show signs of significant growth, which could indicate it’s set to break away from the stagnation of the past three years. The forecaster’s latest figures suggest the economy could expand by 0.3 per cent on a quarter-on-quarter basis in the second quarter second quarter, following a 0.4 per cent rise in the first quarter. Economists reported a rise in the composite purchasing managers’ index (PMI), a key indicator of the overall health of an economy, to an 11-month high of 54.0, after an uptick in services activity. Based on these figures, the wider economy of the Alliance of Nortuan States could be on the mend after it fell into a shallow recession in the second half of last year, battling persistent inflation and high interest rates. Economists also said labor market conditions are gradually loosening, leading to a slowdown in pay growth and potentially supporting a rate cut. Recent noise from the Elbresian Economic Policy Committee has suggested there is uncertainty over the timing of a rate cut, with either June or August being considered. President Alexander Desende has vowed to slash rates, as part of his 2022 campaign promise which helped herald a major conservative return to legislative positions, but many have been unimpressed with the slow, albeit present recovery. There has also been talk of a possible further cut to employee national insurance contributions, squeezed in just before the mid-parliamentary local elections this summer. However, some ministers deemed that scenario “relatively unlikely” due to fiscal constraints. “Theoretically, the President could create room by gaming the rules and assuming even greater spending restraint,” one department head in the Treasurer explained. “But the current plans already look virtually impossible to deliver, and the government exacerbated that problem this week by doubling down on its existing pledge to increase defence spending,” he added. Regardless of the rate of improvement in the Elbresian economy, any recovery comes as welcome news to the wider ANS community, whose shared currency is largely banked on the powerhouse economies of Elbresia, Besmenia, and Saint Offeat. All three countries, and really all countries in the ANS, experienced stagnation at the same time over uncertainty about the strength of the Norta, and as global prices of energy and trade security fluctuated. The continued efforts of Elbresian conservative leaders to opt out of the ANS membership has routinely been thwarted by liberal party lines, who say the continued economic cooperation and regulation of the ANS has made for a more streamlined and global economy, placing Elbresia in the top 12 performing nations in the world. 4/29/2024 Allhofen- According to economic forecasters, the Elbresian economy has started to show signs of significant growth, which could indicate it’s set to break away from the stagnation of the past three years. ZAKARABAN NEWS NETWORK The Zakaraban-centered military government has signed a military agreement with the Federation of Beleroskov, having agreed to lease one of its airbases and naval facilities to the Beleroskovian armed forces. The pact is meant to enforce Zakaraban's legitimacy as a continuous government as the prospect of international recognition for Feyt Ayat's autonomy has gained momentum. President Jirhanu Bjyala said in a surprise meeting with Beleroskovian president Vladimir Belskorski in Koyevka that "Beleroskov's alignment and endorsement of our legitimate government shows that while our nation is fractured as a result of this civil war, we have authority over our rightful territory." Beleroskov has deployed a contingent of 1,000 soldiers to the leased facilities near Zakaraban, with the agreement laying out a process of defense should Feyt Ayat and Zakaraban restart hostilities. viewtopic.php?p=41564153#p41564153 BELEROSKOV MILITARY BUILDUP IN ADULAN COUNTRIES CONCERNS W.E.D.A. SHARE Abe Manadabe (@AbeManadabe)3 May 2024|VONGANE President Medeiros warned of Beleroskov's military expansion in Adulan nations Quetana's foreign minister, Elisabete Pascoal, has met with the Beleroskov ambassador to voice concern for Beleroskov's expansion into Southeastern Adula over the past several days. The buildup of military forces in multiple countries has alarmed WEDA officials, as the country has rapidly modernized its military under Vladimir Belskorski, aligned itself firmly with Yuan, and has taken up occupation of bases leased from Wallenland, Zalluabed, and Tiqal, the former of which was vital to WEDA efforts in Terehan. WEDA's Olympic Council has met in Viitaniemi and is debating how to respond to the sudden change in geopolitical nature in the region, with sanctions being likely in the coming weeks. President Emília Medeiros said in an address from Vongane that the Quetanan government was weighing economic sanctions on Beleroskovian businesses in the region. "Beleroskov has pursued a course of action that can only be described as antagonistic," Medeiros said, citing a meeting in Koyevka between Belskorski and the interim-President of Zalluabed's military-led faction, Jirhanu Bjyala. "They have no reason defensively for being in the region, so their control of military facilities in three nations in close proximity to WEDA allies constitutes a proactive intimidation, which we believe is the purpose here. To derail and take advantage of the peace processes underway in Zalluabed with the ceasefire, the insurgency wreaking havoc across Wallenland, and the oil oligarchs of Tiqal." Beleroskov has been granted control of a naval facility in northern Wallenland, as the result of a military agreement which also saw the supply of several naval vessels, aircraft, and artillery vehicles to the Wallenland government. Beleroskov currently has thousands of troops deployed in Wallenland to combat an insurgency of the militant group known as the ELN. The same day, the military-led government in Zakaraban allowed Beleroskov to utilize military facilities in its territory under agreement to reach diplomatic recognition and protection despite an internationally moderated ceasefire. Should the ceasefire between WEDA-supplied rebels and the Zakaraban military collapse, CCA peacekeepers moderating the ceasefire-line would be caught in the middle with Beleroskovian forces now part of the affair. And Tiqal, earlier in the week, leased an airbase to Beleroskov's military, the same base formerly leased for a fourteen-month period by WEDA forces during the Terehan conflict. The Tiqal agreement has also given Beleroskovian companies sweeping investment in Tiqal's oil fields. Southern Adula has long been a tense region for its varied geopolitical factions, but the introduction of the nuclear-armed nation into the affairs of deeply contested nations which had previously seen wide international involvement has raised concerns further. Moreso, unaligned nations in the region are increasingly finding themselves at the fingertips of foreign influencers, grappling to try and grab any control over the last vestiges of truly independent states. "It's not diplomacy by Beleroskov that concerns us, it's the combination of a military necessity that comes along with their preconditions for diplomacy that causes great worry," foreign minister Pascoal stated. "Quetana and our allies stand ready to respond, likely with stronger sanctions than we've had to impose in many years against Beleroskov, but it is clear that increased militarization in the region by any adversarial government is a concerning issue and WEDA will go beyond sanctions if we are forced to do so. It seems the days of the UCSS are returning in one form or another, and in our regard and opinion it is returning in its utmost concerning form."
