The Islamic Republic of Emmiria viewtopic.php?p=41592692#p41592692 Emmirian government warns Rajihat against escalation viewtopic.php?p=41592692#p41592692 Emmirian government warns Rajihat against escalation A month of sometimes deadly standoffs between Verdusa and Rajihat has placed the Holy Land at its closest point to war since the 1980s. A political map of the Holy Land OPINION by Assan Knalla RHAGA - President Akram Sulaiman called on the Rajihat government to pull their forces back from the border with Verdusa, and for their military to "take control of rogue elements in their ranks," as increasingly deadly incidents occur nearly a month after tensions began between the two nations in the Holy Land. After a Rajihat military unit based in Jayrud launched a mortar attack against the Verdusan city of Anhircha, killing several civilians, the Verdusan prime minister appeared to step up preparations for a retaliatory act which they have thus far restrained from carrying out. Emmiria, along with WEDA allies, have stated that if Rajihat continues to provoke Verdusa then they will be forced to intervene, but no determination has been made as to whether WEDA would directly support a Verdusan ground incursion into Rajihat. "We are warning Rajihat's military and government against any escalation, for their sake and the sake of the millions of innocents in the region," Sulaiman said. Emmirian forces have deployed to the only border crossing with Rajihat at Al Khird, just southeast of El Mataltah, as both a precaution and warning against Rajihat's increased agitation. Much of the tensions between the two countries are a result of Rajihat's not-so-subtle support of the paramilitary militia known as the Rajit Liberation Army, or RLA, which in the past month has carried out numerous terrorist attacks against Verdusa, including a deadly series of bombings which killed nearly 80 people, and assassinations including the killing of Verdusa's deputy president Gian Kafni two weeks ago. Clashes at the border, namely at the key crossing at As-Sanha, have resulted in several military deaths on both sides, including a vehicle ramming attack which left 4 Verdusan soldiers dead yesterday. When asked if Emmirian troops would be sent into Rajihat to support Verdusa should a ground incursion be carried out, Sulaiman declined to provide a straight-forward answer. Instead, he said "there would have to be certain situations taking place that specifically threaten our immediate national security. Emmiria will support Verdusa in every instance in which Rajihat or their proxies attempt to harm them, but the extent to which Verdusa responds and our capacity alongside is a matter of hypotheticals at the moment." A war between Rajihat and Verdusa would be destabilizing for the region, most experts warn, namely because Rajihat and many of its hardliner allies such as the Zalluabed-military junta, Behinian government, and several paramilitaries in Jiddiya have stated they will support Rajihat if Verdusa carries out retaliation in the form of crossing the border. If multiple nations are pulled into a conflict in such a small geographic region with international importance, both culturally and commercially, the impulse for international parties to hold restraint will be minimal. viewtopic.php?p=41600678#p41600678 President Vladimir Belskorski vowed to get Beleroskovian military aid to Rajihat "no matter the consequence," in response to a Verdusan threat to detain ships carrying defense-purposed weapons systems en route to Rajihat ports. Speaking in a televised address in which he detailed the plan to get cargo ships to port in Aji and Eshdarinn, Belskorski said "our ships will make it through", and that two Beleroskovian frigates would accompany further shipments. Since Verdusa began its blockade earlier in the day, three Beleroskovian cargo vessels have been stopped and boarded, with one turned away and the other two deemed to be carrying grain and automotive components being held offshore. Verdusa's government stated they are still allowing ships with humanitarian supplies to enter Rajihat, but no Beleroskovian ships are granted access no matter the cargo, an act which has infuriated Beleroskov's government. viewtopic.php?ns=1&f=4&t=498160&p=41601028#p41601028 Rājākō Mukha

State visit and future investments from Albarine continues the Dryaganakan Government’s globalization and strife to boost infrastructure and investments in the country.
Draigmandar - Thousands of dryaganians dressed in traditional dryaganian clothing welcomed the Albarinean head of state Chancellor Sadie Melhaven and her entourage as they arrived at the Jangokarap Airport, a semi international airport stationed only ten miles southwest of the capital city Draigmandar mostly used for governmental international travel and some domestic travel, for a first time visit by any albarinean head of state. The visit marked recent years globalization and more more open diplomacy policies driven by the dryaganakan government, spearheaded by the Dragon king Jigme Ugyen Chime Mataharu and the liberal conservative government. The Dragon King transported the chancellor and her entourage to the capital of Draigmandar, the highest capital city on Iearth being situated an impressive 3,870 meter above sea level (around 12 979 feet), which not only houses the King’s palace or the head monastery, but also 37,000 inhabitants which makes it the second largest city in Dryaganako only to the city of Fuku with an impressive population of 120,000. The Chancellor and her entourage first visited the head monastery of Mōnālakō Gum̐ḍa before being treated to a luxurious dinner at the dragon palace with seven traditional dryaganakan dishes and traditional dryaganakan wine. After the luxurious dinner and the sightseeing entered the Dragon King, the Chancellor, the Chancellor's closest entourage, the head of the dryaganakan church and the Prime Minister of Dryaganako the house of the parlament, where they began negotiations and talks behind closed doors. After several hours of negotiations were the journalists and the native cheerers met by a smiling Jigme Ugyen Chime Mataharu, Prime minister Sangay Wangmo and Chancellor Melhaven, who shook hands outside the building. The Dragon King gave a short speech, in which he praised the new relationship between the two countries and said that "this marks another step into the golden age for the Kingdom of Dryāganakō and Mōnālakō and another step to a more open form of politics that will gain the country and its new collaborators". Melhaven and her entourage was then transported back to Jangokarap Airport, where Chancellor Melhaven was gifted a traditional dryaganakan garb, one worn by dryaganakan nobles from the Butu region, and a traditional ceremonial Butu sword, before they left cheered on by excited dryaganians. The dryaganakan government released a statement on the radio and for the national paper the day after, that gave a little more details on the deal made, even if a lot of details were left out. The main points of the deal were economical funding and hired engineers from Albarine to look over the building of dams in central and Southwestern Dryaganako, funded by dryaganakan resources, to help optimize hydroelectric output in the country and also open up for jobs for the dryaganakan populace in the area. This will hopefully boost economic output and opportunities in the very rural parts of Dryaganako and transform the very rural based country unto a careful and environmentally friendly industrialisation. The government has been very careful to protect the unique and isolated fauna and Animal life in Dryaganako, an environment ranked in the top in the world for it's beauty and uniqueness, while also getting a stronger economy to help with strengthening its own healthcare and infrastructure. Another important part of the deal was that Albarine would help investing in the construction of hospitals and retirement homes outside of the capital and the most southwestern parts, since the majority of the country lacks any real healthcare and injured locals have to travel on foot or donkey several hours to even reach the care needed. The town of Butwang, the third largest city in Dryaganako with a population of 17,000, will also get a new hospital, named the New Southwestern Hospital, which would give the isolated region of Bunguan a very needed hospital to help both wounded tourists in the extremely mountainous area and to give the tribes living in the high mountains a more accessible alternative than to trek through the dangerous so called sky paths to Draigmandar. In return Albarinean companies will get extremely discounted shipments of clothing and cement, two of the biggest exports and industries in Dryaganako, and lowered tariffs on several other products. This will also hopefully help boost the country's export and therefore help expand the clothing and cement industries in Fuku, and to a lesser extent in the harbor towns of Wangue and Dyukr City. Only time will tell if the investments will help the isolated kingdom prosper and if the relatively cooperation liberal government can juggle the conservative ways of the mountains with an inflation of globalisation and foreign influence.
Sateroc tourists getting lost in mountains sparks new tourist debates about closing off certain parts of the country and raising the daily fine
Phungpur - It was last week that three Saterocan men, who had been vacating for a week in the tiny southwestern city of Butwang, were reported missing after not returning to their set destination in Phungpur after four days after they had began trekking om the very dangerous Nuqueng trek, a hiking path that leads from the tiny herding village Sen west of Butwang to the tiny monastery settlement of Phungpur. The hike is supposed to take two days with a certified guide, something which is legally needed for tourists who want to trek in the parts of Dryaganako with mountains several thousand meters above the sea level or areas deemed dangerous for the untrained. Breaking against this law will lead to a hefty fine and even a ban from ever visiting certain regions of the country. This fine makes traveling in Dryaganako even more expensive, seeing how tourists have to pay a daily fee equivalent to 100 Zamastanian dollars every day they stay in the eastern parts of the country and the equivalent of 200 Zamastanian dollars a day if they stay in the western parts of the country. The Saterocan tourists had already been told about the requirement of a certified guide for the Nuqueng trek, which goes through the Nuqueng mountain chain, but had apparently gone on their hike without a guide anyway. The Nuqueng trekk, not only famous for reaching altitudes so high that oxygen masks are almost needed for most non natives, is known for its badly marked trail with moments of climbing or walking on small rocky paths close to steep edges. The Nuqueng trekk was historically used for monks to travel from the Phungpur monastery to the southwestern villages and to allow travelers to take a shortcut southwest, a part of the country that for a long time was isolated due to how much longer it would be to travel through the Lu hang valley to Butwang if you came from the north due to the amount of difficult and high mountains in between. The trekk nowadays mostly serve as a part of many dryaganians' pilgrimage to the tiny monastery or for tourists who want to see all the beauty the dryaganakan mountains behold. After the hotel in Phungpur, one of two places for tourists to sleep in the tiny village together with a tiny inn, reported the saterocan tourists as missing after not checking in two days after their expected arrival, emergency helicopters rushed from Butwang and Du Lao, whose operator lives in the extremely tiny and isolated settlement for four months a year, to fly around the dangerous mountains to find the three lost tourists. After three days of constant searching, which made it more than a week since the tourists began trekking, they were found eight kilometers away from the path, in a try to climb down to the valley below to easier find a way back home. The tourists were starving and severely dehydrated, but after getting flown to Butwang Hospital they managed to recover from any serious injuries in a relatively quick time. The tourists were then fined for the extra days that they had stayed in the country, but also fined for breaking the law by trekking without a guide and they even got banned from ever visiting western Dryaganako for the next five years. Inexperienced tourists ruining the environment and draining the money of taxpayers through dangerous trips in the mountains have been a huge point of debate in Dryaganako ever since the country opened for tourists during the late 70s and early 80s. The daily payment required by tourists to stay in the country has been lowered during the years and trekks that used to be banned for non natives or non pilgrims have been opened up for tourists. Despite the tourist business becoming more liberal, many politicians are loud about raising the daily fine and also completely stop tourists from visiting parts of the country with extremely unique and isolated ecosystems or that are very dangerous for someone inexperienced. The incident with the three Saterocan tourists have made the tourism problem one of the biggest discussions in all three of the dryaganakan chambers again. Both the opposition and the government agreed in the parliament to make an inquiry about the tourist problem and how to both conserve the ecology and culture of the country at the same time. The inquiry would also see how to find a balance between allowing more tourists but at the same time avoid tourists getting hurt or drain the local economy of small settlements that's both dependent on tourism but also has to spend the majority of its taxes on rescuing or taking care of inexperienced travelers. Even if some of the more conservative MP:s raised their voices about raising the tourist fine, the majority opinion was to only raise it in extremely dangerous areas of the country or parts of the country that has an extremely fragile ecology and culture. An inquiry was also made by the Dragon’s chamber, one of two lower chambers that together makes the unified upper chamber and consists of nobles and monks, to forbid tourists from visiting areas of especially western Dryaganako in which has historical and religious importance for natives and pilgrims. Several propositions are in the making and there's a big chance the tourist industry will soon change in Dryaganako. Dragon King Jigme Ugyen Chime Mataharu of Dryaganako welcomed Chancellor Sadie Melhaven from Albarine for the first state visit between both countries, as the albarinean government promised to invest in dryaganakn healthcare and infrastructure while getting extremely discounted prices on both cement and clothing shipments from Dryaganako. In other news, three Saterocian tourists got lost in the Nuqueng mountains, whose expensive rescue reignited the tourist debate in Dryaganako. The government has started an inquiry on how to balance the economic importance of tourism and protecting the country's unique culture and ecosystem. |

The Secular Republic of Bentho Libertadismo Sweeps in Midterms The 231st Congress of Bentho was elected last night and will be sworn in on May 23rd. This election showed the nation's huge left-wing shift, which can be attributed to Caballero's high approval rating and a shift among older voters wanting retirement security, which Caballero promised to introduce into the Senate if a huge majority is secured. Libertadismo buoyed by a groundswell of support, managed to flip 16 seats, of which 2 were in a non-competitive district, and lost zero seats. Libertadismo now has a 61-seat majority flipping 6 OMI seats and 10 Conservadores seats. The National Assembly also showed some major changes, many new parties gained seats, and Libertadismo still has an overwhelming majority at 234 seats and dominate over the other parties It was a good and bad night for the other parties. Verde Unión, or Bentho's Green Party, won their first-ever seat by a margin of 20% after Calvimontes' endorsement for that seat. Meanwhile, the OMI lost 7 seats. More centrist voters chose other parties with the huge loss they experienced tonight. With their downward trend, Chairman Acosta announced the party's abolishment on June 1, 2024. The Barbagaba gubernatorial election was a key rac e too, electing its first left-wing candidate in 78 years. Mayor of Lamlota, Colin Campos won by 10% against the incumbent Abigial Galinado. Galinado's defeat came with the right-wing vote was divided by her former cabinet member Adil Cano who called Galinado out for corruption charges back in February of 2023. Another thing voters voted on was a new constitution. with 56% of the nation's voters voting for it. The passing of the new constitution was part of Caballero's campaign back in 2023 and now it will be in effect on May 23rd. These elections show Caballero's influence over his party and the people's opinion of him, usually after the first term the president doesn't make such big gains as this in the midterms Libertadismo Member Celebrating in Lamlota. -The 2024 Midterms have taken place and Libertadismo does very well. viewtopic.php?p=41614653#p41614653 Missile and mortar attacks by Rajihat against Verdusan settlements over the past month have left dozens dead. Caspiaan nationals in Verdusa should "leave or take shelter" Viitaniemi - Caspiaan nationals in Verdusa have been advised by diplomatic channels to leave the country or evacuate regions along the Rajihat border, as worries of a reciprocal strike by Verdusa's military build after a month of tensions and particularly a week of flare-ups resulting in dozens of deaths. Foreign Minister Mathias Ronning issued a warning that "projections for a significant escalation in hostilities in the region leads the Caspiaan government to advise immediate evacuations of towns along the Rajihat border, and Caspiaan nationals should leave or take shelter as they are able." Flights from Verdusa to Caspiaa were completely booked as of Tuesday morning. Cross-border clashes between units of the Rajihat military, the RLA militant group inside Verdusa, and Verdusan security forces over the past month have left many soldiers and civilians dead, mainly in Verdusa as Verdusa's government has thus far restrained a wider response despite the Prime Minister's threats that action would come. Yesterday's barrage of missiles by Rajihat which destroyed a Verdusan military base and left dozens of soldiers dead may have been the final straw, according to Caspiaan intelligence officials familiar with the movements of the Verdusan military. "Something will be coming in response, we just don't entirely know what it is yet," one Caspiaan MP said. "We know Verdusa's government is not taking any more hits without giving out their own in response. They've given Rajihat many chances, and since they've failed to take advantage of Verdusa's willingness to quell it all, they will now face a response." Caspiaa, along with WEDA, have vowed to defend Verdusa if Rajihat's attacks increase, but the organization has stated they will first pursue diplomatic channels and will, in limited condition, restrain from participating in any Verdusan ground incursion into Rajihat. WEDA Secretary General Damian Levasseur, in San Martina to mediate and observe peace talks between Rajihat and Verdusa, stated on Tuesday that "WEDA will defend Verdusa going forward from any Rajihat strike" and that WEDA might "assist in limited response by Verdusa," but said WEDA would "not prolong any conflict by intervening in Rajihat territory." The ongoing crisis largely stems from a longstanding border dispute and political status of Rajits, a branch religion with ties to Christianity and Islam. In Verdusa, power is shared proportionally in the legislature between Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Rajits, but the small population of Rajits in Verdusa has limited their political power. Meanwhile in Rajihat, a fundamentalist Rajit party has been in power for decades and has supported a terrorist insurgent group in Verdusa, called the Rajit Liberation Army (RLA), which has carried out attacks against Verdusan citizens.
