The Aristocracy is made up of the Imperial Household as well as Palace Officials. Members of the Imperial Household have the ultimate executive and imperial authority, including the power to issue 'edicts' which have the immediate force of law. Palace Officials serve on either short-term assignments or in incredibly specialized areas. In these matters, they are acting on behalf of the Emperor and have high authority, but are generally much more narrow of a scope than members of the 'Government'. While the Aristocracy focuses on the big picture and setting policy, the Government works to implement that vision and advise the members of the Imperial Household. While the Government remains subject to the Emperor, there is more autonomy for citizen nations to have their say on who fills what position. MEMBERS OF THE GOVERNMENT Urban Eparch: The Armed Republic of The Black Wolves Logothetes: The Kingdom of Ferrense Empire Megas Doux: The Holy Empire of Ferelith Tribounos: The Republic of The vikining Praetor: The Republic of Neodun ~⬤~⬤~⬤~⬤~⬤~⬤~⬤~⬤~⬤~⬤~⬤~⬤~⬤~ THE SENATE Serving in the Senate of Byzantion is one of the region's highest court honors. Senate offices are rewarded based on a combination of longevity in the region and contributors. For example, when Senate seats become vacant they may be awarded to the nation "next in line" based on residency in the region, or the Emperor may hand-appoint a nation who has gone above and beyond to serve the region. The powers and privileges of the Senate include: + The ability to select, via any mechanism, a members to serve as 'Hypatos,' or leader of the Senate. This member shall act as Chairperson of the Senate whenever discussions need to be organized, or votes called. This outline of government is always subject to change based on the needs of the government, the resolution of the Senate, or the will of the Emperor. While we are proudly an imperial region, there is always more than enough room at the top for ambitious nations to achieve power and make history. In the recent election, we had 22 total votes cast. Of those 22, 12 were valid registered voters. The remaining were unregistered voters. It's worth noting that only including registered voters did *NOT* have an impact on the ultimate result in favor of The Black Wolves. The final total is below: ELECTION TALLY — The Black Wolves: 6 registered votes ## I feel like there is a LOT more to say after the game was down for over a week — so I'll likely be posting again here soon. Sadly, we have lost some of our momentum and I know that will make this next term challenging for our Urban Eparch. So, I would encourage ALL nations to step up and telegram myself or Additionally, I know some nations brought up a dislike of the voter registration and Google Drive survey voting system. To be completely honest, I also ended up disliking it. I appreciate that it was a creative solution, but I think we need to find another new voting process before the next election that is more inclusive and allows for the thrill of the election to really be appreciated by all.
