You can't directly go to war. Instead, there are two options:
-You can role play a war (like we sometimes do over at our role-play region A Taco Archipelago). Here you just write about your troops and stuff and then write about the war.

-Or you could go stop raiders. See, regions can sort of go to war. A lot of small regions have a WA Delegate with only a few endorsements. When raiders come, they overthrow the native WA delegate and disrupt the region. In some cases, they even ban the natives (who might I note did absolutely nothing to warrant this) and shut down the region, destroying its history. If you want to help stop these raiders, you can join TITO (first you should read the dispatch below).

Also one of the biggest worries of new nations about joining TITO is how hard and time consuming it is. Fret not! You only need to log on for about 10 minutes a week and take a short training course (about 20 minutes or so) to get started. So yeah, you should definitely join us :D

What is TITO?

TITO (Ten Thousand Islands Treaty Organization) is 10000 Islands' very own defender army! TITO provides for the defense of our region, as well as going out to help defend other regions in NationStates that are attacked unfairly.

What do we do?

Invaders attempt to capture the WA Delegacy of regions, predominantly founderless regions, and seize control. They then damage the region by frequently ousting democratically elected government officials and regional leaders, ejecting or banning native nations, and often holding the region captive over long periods. To stop this, we work to help counteract their actions and ultimately defeat the invaders.

Sounds easy? Defenders have to follow specific orders, and in perfect coordination. Each mission is unique and with the very future of a whole region on the line, that can be intense!

TITO has helped thousands and thousands of regions in our time and we wish to ensure that all regions can thrive in peace, free from invader harassment.

That is where YOU come in!

TITO is always seeking those who share our values and who want to help other regions in peril. Applicants to TITO will receive patient training by expert defenders, at a pace that is workable for you. And don't worry! Contrary to what you might believe, participating in TITO won't take a lot of your time! There's two "updates" each day where vulnerable regions are at most risk of being invaded, and even then, you can participate in them whenever you want to. What if you can't join us either update? Then don't worry! You can join the TITO Expeditionary Force, which operates outside these updates. Within a few days of joining TITO, you will be learning the skills, and making a very real contribution to the security and stability of the NS community.

TITO Mission Statement

TITO, the Ten thousand Islands Treaty Organization, stands to defeat aggression in the NationStates world by defeating groups or regions that attack innocent regions.

Any region that attacks an innocent region is an enemy of TITO and the 10000 Islands. The attacking of innocent regions is a cowardly and dishonorable practice. TITO stands up for the innocent regions of this game and will assist these regions by whatever means necessary, in accordance with NationStates rules.

TITO cannot and will not defend every region in NationStates, but when a region is unjustly invaded, not only will we hold the option of defending that region in whatever manner we see fit, but we also hold the option of attacking the attacking regions homeland itself.

TITO and the 10000 Islands seeks to live in peace with all regions in NationStates, but we will not back down to the those that wish to impose their will on innocent regions.

This is a warning to all regions that engage in the practice of region crashing -- if we haven't heard of you yet, we will. If we haven't stopped you yet, we will, and if you haven't felt our presence in your homeland yet, you will. There are ways to make life difficult for those regions that wish to oppress others. If you attack innocent regions, beware TITO. Long live freedom, long live the 10000 Islands and long live TITO!

Nah not at all. Day has not been particularly good but they all cant be.

Well. Its like being defender but everything and everyone in TITO is all the sudden my responsibility xD. Its making sure things works as they should, keeping track of everything relevant that happens. Delegating tasks, valuating our current situation, looking for things to improve. I don't really consider it to be particularly difficult, specially since i got really good crew to work with so its quite smooth going job generally except in special cases :)

Well close to 10 years. I joined TITO December 2012 if i recall correctly. It feels bit weird that time flies by so fast. Seen pre teens to grow in to young adults that time. Watching how things have changed. Bit proud that i have been able to keep going as long i have.

My favourite food is ham and bacon casserole :)

Depends of angle
For my self best thing is probably meeting so many wonderful people. For others its been able to help people around despite being just regular person. As achievement probably spotting methods that got me raider spotter of year award 3 or 4 years in row i think.

Worst... Urgh. Well i have said lots of stupid stuff witch i would take back if i could. And sometimes things i have said have made my friends feel bad or caused trouble to others witch never were my intention, just cause of my stupidity. No way to take them back, got to learn from them and be better.

That is a hard one xD
Probably how absurd some thinks were when looking backwards. As how i originally got promoted went very different you usually expect such situations to happen. When started i was really low self esteem and i generally avoided doing things just that i would not make mistakes. So when new Tactical officers were being looked our FC at the time Klopstock asked people interested of position. Afterwards asked me why i did not apply and asked why not, i simply said because i did not want the job. So we ended up weird situation where Klops was arguing why i should accept promotion and i was arguing why i should not. Since he did not seem to take no for an answer i accepted just to show him how much i would suck being in charge. I tried to resign 3 times as i was not stratified to my performance and he talked me over every time. So my goal was to just wait till i find good enough replacement for me and call it quits. 6 years later here were are even bigger chair xD

Well we kind of do but i will not give them the pleasure commercializing their name :P
Crabs was just nuclear war faction. Actual raiding involves taking over others regions and do as they please regardless what actual community of that region thinks about it. Depending on case aim came just annoyance in there for a while and trashing the place up to completely destroying the place if not acted up on. Always looking new people to help. I did not join up for first half years only because i taught i would be more trouble than worth, its too hard, or too time consuming or as individual would even matter just to realize how wrong i was an all of those assumptions :D

Hi! To endorse someone you must be in the World Assembly (WA), which you can join by linking an email to your nation (which also enables you to refound it if your nation ever dies from inactivity. As you don't seem to be in it, to join the WA, go to the World Assembly tab on this site, then click "Apply to Join" at the top, and it'll walk you through the steps from there. once you join the WA, go to a nation's page, for example, our Delegate's, Wischland, who you should totally endorse, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and there should be a button that says "Endorse "Nation" (In this example, Wischland). Click it, and you've successfully endorsed someone!

"I disappear as soon as you say my name. What am I?" The answer to the riddle was "silence"! I have also accepted answers along the lines of "this moment". Congrats to The Soylent Green Party, Meropis, New Frysland, Alien a, Wischland and Xanthorrhoea who all got it right! The lucky winner of an epic card is New Frysland!

On another note, the Issue/ Nation Building Contest is starting today! The theme is "What would the world look like in 250 years?". To participate, just create a nation (or use an existing one) and develop it according to this theme. At the end of the submission period (on the 24th of October) all aspects of each nation (stats, policies, customizable fields, etc.) will be taken into consideration and the best or most creative entry will win a legendary card. Just send the link of the nation to Thedairos to let me know that you're participating!
