Carrington Industries (CI) is one of the most notable and influential organizations found within the Formosan Republic, having gained its popularity from the reveal of Null-Gravity Technology (commonly shortened down as Null-G Tech) in 1999 and its eventual implementation within the Formosan Automotive Industry in 2017. Founded by Daniel Carrington in 1978 from the former Research and Development branch of his late father's cryptography/computer research agency—Secure Development International (SDI)—the company was brought over to the Formosan Republic from Edinburgh, Scotland with the support of his cousin Alistair, who was a rising politician within Formosa at the time. Carrington's eventual discovery of the Maians in 1985 resulted in the creation of the Carrington Institute, which secretly worked on reverse-engineering Maian technology and eventually provided the then experimental Null-G Tech. Once corporate espionage was on the rise within the Formosan Republic in the 2010's, Carrington Industries and its subsidiaries began branching out into other industries within the nation; an event that also saw the establishment of the Covert Action Staff (CAS) as the military-grade security forces of the Carrington Institute in 2017. Following the Formosan Corporate Wars between 2020 and 2023, Carrington Industries aided in the establishment of formal relations between the Republic and the Maians; eventually being instrumental in the creation and operation of historic space-faring vessels such as the OSV Huygens and FIV Terra during the 2030's and 2050's.

Colossus Defense Engineering (CDE) is one of the largest and oldest shipwrights in existence, having operated since before the Orsonian Rebellion. Founded by Pytor Atlas, the company has built a reputation for its powerful and sturdy warships, which quickly gained the interest of Emperor Mercer in its early years and allowed it to become the primary shipyard for the Imperial Navy. It weathered the Rebellion well, earned a huge profit during the Great Reconquest, and remains the primary shipyard of the Imperial Navy to this day. The company is currently headed by Brad Atlas, and has since expanded into other sectors of the Cybusian Market, however their focus remains primarily on shipbuilding. Among their most well-known products are the Avenger Class Destroyer, Crow Class Dropship, the ancient Tesla Class Battleship (which had been introduced during the Rebellion), and its successor, the Forge Class Battleship. With the company expanding into other industries in recent years, their engineers have aided in the production of a multitude of Imperial Army and Marine vehicles. The most prominent examples of these products include the Knight Class Tank, Crusader Assault Striker, Rook Infantry Fighting Vehicle, and the mighty Linebreaker Heavy Assault Transport.

The dataDyne Corporation is one of the largest and most powerful organizations within the Formosan Republic, specializing in military, research, and commercial production for its contractors while also funding its own private projects. Founded in 1985 by Zhang Li in Wuhan, China as dataDyne Industries, the company was originally operated as an AI Systems Programming business until eventually relocating to Taiwan in hopes of taking advantage of the Formosan Republic's growing economy. Throughout the 1990's dataDyne became large enough that it was capable of establishing various subsidiaries within the nation and eventually merged with Li's father's import-export company, re-branding as the dataDyne Corporation in the process. Over the years, the company became a successful enterprise, however it also gained a reputation within the Formosan corporate world for its seedy practices and countless rivalries with other organizations. Due to its reputation and hold over various sectors of the Formosan economy, the company gained influential control over various government officials and became a powerful threat to other companies within the nation as it had the capability to outright buy or destroy its competition if it so desired. This also allowed the company to hire a large workforce to accomplish its goals in various dataDyne-owned facilities, a majority of which would consist of a massive research team, an army of military-trained personnel, and personal bodyguards for the CEO, with a fleet of venerable vessels also being under the command of the organization.

The Formosan Broadcasting Service (福尔摩沙广播服务), often branded as the FBS, is the national broadcaster of the Formosan Republic, and the largest media organization within Taiwan. Established in 1936 by the Formosan government, which serves as the primary source of income for the company through direct grants, the FBS was largely modeled after the United Kingdom's British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and thus shares similar organizational characteristics with it. Ever since its inception, the FBS strives to provide the Republic and international viewers with high-quality and distinctive programs and services which inform, educate and entertain. The organization's headquarters is located within the Special Municipality of Taoyuan, which offers its employees the advantages of a relatively low cost of living and less impacts by natural disasters. The most popular division of the FBS is the Formosan News Network (FNN), which provides 24-hour coverage of domestic and international news through its television channel (a move made to reduce programming costs) and company website, and is available globally through the FNN International television channel.

The Imperial Wireless Corporation (IWC) is the state radio company of the Cybusian Empire, roughly comparable to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) or Medios Públicos Panamericanos (MPP; Pan-American Public Media). It is the latest in a very long line of national radio networks within the Cybusian Empire, with its predecessors dating back to the Rakovsky Dynasty; having originally been established as the Arcadian Aetherwave Transmission Company (AATC) in 66,973 BC, and later reorganizing as the Imperial News Broadcasting Network (INBN) following the First Alexanderian Refounding. While under the INBN name, the entire INBN staff (aside from two field reporters) was slaughtered during the Battle of Arcadia in 29,000 BC, only for the company headquarters to be reclaimed not long after the climatic duel between Charles Orson and Emperor Mercer. Following the Rebellion, the company was shuttered in favor of private entities, only to be reestablished by the Diadactian Council in 22,000 BC as the IWC. It quickly gained a reputation for it’s impartial and accurate reporting, and, due to it’s government backing, quickly rose to become the equal to telecommunications giants like Vostrov or Barit in terms of both listenership and programming quality. In 15,000 BC, IWC Head Nikolas Verok brought propaganda back to the IWC airwaves in the form of Political Entertainment channels as a clever way to maintain accurate reporting while also furthering Imperial interests. Since then, the company has expanded across the universe—with it being said that wherever Cybusians go, the IWC and its reporters are sure to follow—and eventually expanded into visual media beginning in 12,000 BC.

Kimaam Media Corporation (KMC) is a public radio and television broadcasting service within the Orsonian Empire, having its headquarters located within Arturo, New Guinea. Founded in 1889 as the Kimaam Théâtrophone Company by Emperor Shoan Jackson and a group of New Guinean investors, the company dominated the broadcasting market within Orson until 1933, when the last théâtrophone subscriptions were suspended in favor of the radio technology that emerged during the 1920's and threatened the company's dominance in the Orsonian Market. The company would later reorganize into the Kimaam Media Corporation—a state-owned enterprise—in 1934 and was granted the sole right to broadcast radio (and later television) programs in Orson, allowing KMC to organize a nationwide network of radio stations. The first television channel, KMC 1, launched in 1938, and Kimaam Central Studio (a subsidiary established in 1913 to produce propaganda films, until expanding into normal entertainment following the Great War) introduced a television production division to create content. KMC would virtually hold a monopoly over mass media in Orson until 1977, when the Imperial Senate permitted private broadcasters to enter the market for the first time; despite this, KMC has retained 70% market share in Orsonian mass media, and remains the dominant film distributor and publisher via Kimaam Central Studio. In 2009, KMC Online was launched as a streaming application available on the state-run Orsonian intranet (or Orsonet), and is now the common means for customers to watch television shows, with older cable services progressively being phased out. As of 2021, KMC is among the world's largest broadcasters and film studios, employing 75,000 people.

Pan-American Public Media, branded by its Romance-language initials MPP, is Wagondia's national broadcaster for both radio and television. It is principally funded by direct grants from the Wagain government, though its content is independent by statute. Established in 1931 as the first public broadcaster in the Western Hemisphere, MPP shares many of its organizational characteristics with the United Kingdom's BBC, on which it was largely modeled. With dozens of national television and radio channels, nearly 70,000 employees, and yearly revenue surpassing $38 billion, it is among the largest media organizations in the world. As is customary in Wagondia, English is used as the main language of broadcast, as it is widely understood as a lingua franca. In line with Wagondia's official multilingualism, however, MPP also provides domestic radio and TV programming in Spanish, Portuguese, and French, as well as a number of indigenous languages such as Quechua. Though MPP’s headquarters are located in Santa Catalina, it maintains a presence in virtually every country on earth, projecting Wagain soft power abroad through programs such as Radio Wagondia Internacional (RWI), an overseas broadcast service which has long branded itself as the "voice of the tropics." During the late 2010s and 2020s, MPP also funded Radio Venceremos (‘We Shall Overcome' Radio), which was was used throughout the late 2010s and 2020s to undermine the information blackout imposed by the Orsonian military regime, both within the Orsonian Empire and in occupied parts of Africa and the Middle East.

PDC Wagondia Airlines is the largest passenger airline within the Wagain Empire, as well as the nation's flag carrier. It is the central entity within the PDC Wagondia Group, a crown corporation which operates more than a dozen aviation-related subsidiaries. Regional service is operated by several carriers under the brand name PDC Wagondia Fénix, while low-cost operations are marketed as PDC Wagondia Indígo. Overseas affiliates include Puertorriqueña de Aviación, the airship line Deutsche Luft-Wagondien, Malian flag carrier Isaberia, and the Mamaran budget carrier Pomegranate Air. Between its core divisions, Wagondia's flag carrier operates an extensive international and domestic network connecting more than 550 destinations in 105 countries. It operates out of 14 nationwide hubs, with Santa Catalina-Kubitschek International Airport being its largest. Easily identified by its toucan logo, the use of the word "cruzeiro" in its marketing and callsigns, and historic association with the crown, the airline is a cultural icon of modern Wagain life. The airline's heritage can be traced back to 1927, when Panair de Cruzeiro was founded as a Wagain subsidiary of German airline Deutsche Luft Hansa. With the outbreak of war with Germany in 1941, the company was nationalized and re-branded as PDC Wagondia, a name it remains to this day. It is the 15th oldest operating airline in the world, and 5th oldest in Wagondia itself (after Avianca, Aerolloyd Boliviano, Mexicana, and Varig Brasil). Alongside Avianca, Varig, and Panagra, it is considered one of the 'big four' major Wagain airlines. PDC Wagondia is one of the founding members of the Pepper Alliance, formed by some of the principal airlines in the Global South. It is the only Wagain airline with a 5-star rating from the UK-based airline reviewer Skytrax.

Rapture Central Computing (RCC) is a major independent company whose products are vital to the operation of the underwater city of Rapture. Established in 1946 by Charles Milton Porter, RCC is notable for being home to one of Earth's first supercomputers and natively developed AI. The company's supercomputer—dubbed "The Thinker"—was brought online in 1958, six years before the development of the CDC 6600 by Seymour Cray, and incorporated both conventional computing technology and exotic biological computing technologies; managing many of Rapture's automated systems as its impressive computational power was rented out to companies such as Ryan Industries. Since then, a series of successively more powerful supercomputers (all dubbed "The Thinker") have been developed, with the current iteration being brought online in late 2019 as a cutting-edge quantum computer with a Smart AI which has taken the name Rodin (short for "Rapture Operational Data Interpreting Network"). Additionally, RCC experts have played an important role in Rapture’s development of advanced cybernetics, and regular collaboration occurs with Ryan Industries to develop and update more advanced cybernetics and operating systems for said cybernetics. The company's competitors on the market, both domestically and internationally, include RobCo; the Formosa-based dataDyne Corporation; the Orson-based Bacta Technologies; and various Timmian personal computing companies.

Read dispatch

With Novo's permission, I'll be working on a Corporate Registry that will hopefully serve as a fitting addition to the Regional Gazetteer and show off the notable companies that can be found throughout the EOA in a somewhat pleasing manner. As you can see in the dispatch above, I've listed off three companies from various nations as an example of what everything will look like when new entries are included (they'll be sorted alphabetically); with that said, Novo and I have agreed that it would be best to have everyone work on creating bios for their preferred companies so that any relevant information can be covered and so that I don't miss anything (this also means that CDE and PDC Wagondia's entries may be replaced down the line unless you guys are fine with them, Cybus and Novo).

Great work! I agree that this is a useful resource, considering it can be hard to keep track of so many companies.
