- ARWINDOM READY TO GO TO THE MOON -

The Commonwealth Space Exploration Programme (CSEP) has announced today that the long-planned manned mission to the Moon is finally ready to start.

The sea-launched Fencer-LX reusable super-heavy-lift launch vehicle (SHHLV) is Arwindom's latest and greatest launch vehicle developed in 2017. Its first test flight without a payload took place in January of this year when it successfully reached the assigned altitude. After some tweaking and calibration, an improved version named "Emily" after the new empress is now positioned in the Gulf of Oarley, awaiting the command to start up its 27 massive engines and dart into the blue sky.

....

The current plan is to use the reusable Fencer-LX to launch modules of the "Pursuit-II" station (which will be the station in the low Lunar orbit) into North Utopia's orbit, assemble it there and then use a crew/lander module docked to the station to accelerate the "Pursuit" and allow it to escape NU's gravity. Upon arriving at the Moon, the lander would ensure that the station settles in the correct orbit and then separate from it to bring a flag and a trio of brave Arwindens to the surface.

Arwindom.

The Astarese government would like to congratulate Arwindom on its first leap into the arms of the void, and to note its enthusiasm that the mission architecture that Astarey's Chasz-area missions use is being adopted by other nations. The sea-launch option for spacecraft is an interesting one- it certainly would enable more efficient launches, though our own attempts at seaborne equatorial launch are hampered by the lack of semi-local launch locations that the Meridian Commonwealth cannot object to. Would the Commonwealth of Arwindom be interested in a historic Chasz-orbital international spacecraft docking? We have multiple maneuver-capable stations in Chasz orbit, and given the specifications for your docking ports could construct an adapter between our respective designs.
