The basics first. Not being snarky, just want to make sure we are on the same page.

oligarchy: (1) a small group of people having control of a country, organization, or institution.

When we were in TEP, the Fedele camp could be called an Oligarchy. There was a small group of people who were in control of most of the Government institutions. Yes, we were all legally elected (heck, I was Provost for 2+ terms) but the fact remains that our group was a small group of people having control of a region.

The current government (for simplicity, the Marrabuk Oligarchy) was formed from a group of about 5 or 6 people who had been in power before Yuno and Fedele and wanted to be back in charge. The excuse was that we were evil, but the reality is it was only about power. After they took over, they had to add new people of course (if for no other reason than to replace the people they kicked out or didn't trust), but the original Marrabuk Oligarchy were in control of all the important things. They speak well about opening things up, but look at the current Delegate election. Marrabuk made a grand decision to not run again under the premise of not wanting to be seen as a permanent fixture. Tons of people ran but the top 2 (and the only ones with a reasonable chance to win) are both Marrabuk Oligarchy members.

That is how Oligarchs operate. They give the masses the veneer of Democracy while the Oligarchy keeps the actual control.

The biggest difference between our oligarchies is that the "Marrabuk Oligarchy" allows outsiders and new players to advance, instead of just members of the same raiding clan.

I guess, but "pushing the boundaries of acceptable use of power while remaining within the law" doesn't do much justice to the political maneuvering your Cabal did imo. Rereading it, I see it is very thorough but only if you read it carefully and know what to look for. Clever.

I feel like I am being baited into being critical of specific people right now and I'm not going to do that but there are plenty of people in the region that will privately say they regret not doing more to stop what was going on and then two or three who are far more unapologetic.

As for your question to Fedele, I can say that an environment was created in TEP where that deviant behavior was tolerated and even accepted. You can never say the "whole" of a group as large as TEP, but allowing and even encouraging a group like that to flourish tainted the entire region.
