I think this might be hitting me harder than it should because of how close in age I am. Really shoved my fears back in my face.
My 2 cents of wisdom on this subject may be summed up as follows:
[/preach mode off]
One thing I love about this game is that it teaches you to think carefully about your choices. Seemingly trivial issues have unforeseen consequences. Life [in this game] is full of mistakes, but every mistake is correctable, given enough time.
I visited the Photo shop in my neighborhood and had them print my copy of the Liturgy for the upcoming Holiday Night. I edited this edition myself, arranging the textg typographically, proofreading every letter and vocalizatikon mark (our language has that) carefully, etc. I print a new copy every year orf two because the old one gets stained at the Holiday Table.
I used to own a printer and print such stuff myself. I had to buy a new ink-head each time because I kept forgetting to use it, and once you open it, if it isn't used it dries up. Too much of a headache. I usually only print a page or two every couple of months anyway.
Question of the Week
Hypothetically, one of your law enforcement and/or intelligence agencies has detained four people suspected of being spies somewhere in your nation. All four were carrying passports issued by a neighboring nation (for sake of reference, let's call it 'Nation X') and the documents appear to be officially issued. However, your agency believes that the people are spies from another nation (for sake of reference, let's call it 'Nation Z').
How would your nation respond? Would they treat the detainees as criminals or as spies sent by Nation Z? Would you conclude the documents are clever forgeries or might you think that Nation X is complicit?
The nomination process for the regular elections has begun here:
The nomination process for WA Delegate has begun as well. If you are interested in the position, please announce your candidacy here on the RMB.
Time for some surveillance it sounds like. Visitors don't get the same privacy protections as citizens anyways, they'd better hope they stay clean while they're in Onocarcass though. Bad things typically happen to foreign spies here.
It all depends on the Diplomatic relations [Public and Secret] U Crane has with Nation X and Nation Z. If Nation X is our ally and Nation Z is an enemy we have no positive relations with, we'd court-martial them and sentence them to long prison terms. Otherwise, we'd probably just expell them from the country and publicly denounce Naztion Z.
I will run again for WA delagate. This time I will take the opinions of others in the region into consideration.
My nation would think that Nation X is complicit because if I infer the wrong country, there will be consequences so I would think that nations Z and X are involved because it is better safe than sorry.
What is the SJC, and why are there only elections to its First Seat? What are the responsibilities of the Minister of Domestic Affairs?
The Supreme Judicial Court (SJC) is our region's court. We have elections for each seat every other month to ensure that the whole Court isn't up for re-election at the same time. This way, if there is a case or issue, we will theoretically have two members on the court at any given time.
The Minister of Domestic Affairs has two major responsibilities: recruiting and encouraging regional activity (including, but not limited to: creating polls, starting RPs, or starting conversations here on the RMB)
How's everyone doing?
I just played my first Paradox game ever in CK3. Chose Finland, got obliterated. I feel really dumb, but also ready to get back into the fray, lol
I played CK2 a while back and had a similar result. I definitely had better luck with the HOI series.
I'm back from spending the Holiday weekend at my sister's. Two of her daughters stayed at her as well (with their own families). Was great. Great food, great company. Now I'm back to my own empty apartment where I need to start cleaning and packing in all the special Passover things and bring back out the ordinary ones (It's a religious thing, involving lots of dish-washing, waiting for them to dray and putting them away for next year).
Happy Easter Sunday to those who celebrate it tomorrow (Sunday the 24th. I believe the Orthodox Churches do).
Kwabena Day is soon 👀😁
The regular elections have begun here:
The polls close at midnight (GMT) on May 1st.
Crawlaysia should be on the poll, they announced they were running
Thank you for pointing that out; it has been corrected. Apologies for the error.
Question of the Week
Are sports popular in your nation? If so, what kind of sports? Are domestic teams more popular than foreign teams?
The OFL "Onocarcan Football League" is an american football league with 32 teams in the Onocarcan Federation. Currently only Onocarcan citizens can play, however the league has been thinking about opening the league to foreign players.
Since my nation is under a constant state of war and being invaded, we have no resources to waste on professional sports. Every able-bodied male between 18-60 is theoretically fighting or engaged in supporting the fighters.
