Well does the Emperor have any close family members? If there is anyone of the proper age Efrain would be able to marry them, and either Efrain or his offspring (as well as the close relative) would become the new successors of the Emperor.

True buuuut we knew the local inhabitants before the Sho which were Jiang, of course one would not argue you are the exact same but Efrain could convert to the local religions. Any who I understand the hesitation.
