---Thalassian Assembly of Nations---

Members of the Assembly:Zentata
Zeneslav Ayeinc Lushie The 3nd german republic Nationific Esslea BadivermeraedThe outer union
Set-Up of the Assembly

The Thalassian Assembly, (hereby referred to as TAN, or the assembly) is a union of nations dedicated to ensuring economic prosperity, peace, and unity. There are 4 main branches to the assembly, the Central Bank, Central Assembly, The Central Commission, and The Court of the Thalassian Assembly. Other smaller divisions exist.

How it Works in Brief

The Central Assembly, which is composed of 6 representatives from each member state, represent their country's interests, and work to see that those are represented in the laws of the union. The laws of the union are proposed by the Central Commission, which is composed of a rotation of 6 representatives, one from each country. Each country takes turns of three years being the president over the Commission. The Commission creates a law proposal, which is then sent to the Central Assembly to be refined, and then back to the Commission for approval. The Commission then ensures that the law is carried out in the countries of the Assembly. The Central Bank does what all Central Banks do, and the Court works to settle all cases brought up against TAN laws in particular, as well as issues that span TAN.

The Thalassian Single Market

The TSM is the linchpin of TAN. In the TSM, goods, people, and capital/services may move freely across the borders of the member nations. This is facilitated by a common currency, the Thalassian Standard Unit (placeholder), aka the TSU. Movement in and out of TAN to a non-member is regulated by the customs union of the states involved, but the TAN state must conform to TAN regulations. The TSM benefits the member countries by stimulating competition and trade, improving efficiency, raising quality, and helping to cut prices for consumers. In order to keep the TSM working smoothly, standardized standards are implemented by the Central Commission and Assembly. Trade in and out of TAN is regulated by the Commission, and while countries in TAN may make trade deals with other countries that are solely to the benefit of the singular country making the trade deal, trade standards and sanctions of TAN must be used. Countries may choose to opt out of the TSU.

Thalassian Economic Zone

Nations that do not wish to participate fully in TAN may commit to a Economic Zone. Within this Zone, nations gain most of the benefits of the single market, and economic preferential treatment, as well as a commitement for the TAN to defend the nation should the need arise. Borders are semi-open, and only a few standards need apply. There is no representation in the Central Assembly or Commission, but nations may send observers, and may speak to the Assembly and Commission.

For those interested in TAN, we are currently discussing the structure of the organization and drafting the charter. We need all the help we can get since the charter is going to set up the whole organization. Our structure is is mix between the UN and the EU. We have an assembly with different councils and a single market (explained in dispatch). Founding members have more benefits, such as permanent seats on some of the councils. Hello Thalassia! As you probably know by now, I'm running for WA delegate of the region. I am the best choice for WA delegate, so please vote for me! If you want to learn more, take a look at my dispatch:

Zentata for WA Delegate!

Who Am I?

Hello there fellow Thalassian! My name's Zentata, and I'm running to be WA delegate. But Zentata, you may be thinking, what have you done in NationStates so far? Alright, here we go: I've been in Thalassia since November.I'm a member of the Ministries of Information, Culture, and Foreign Affairs. As part of my job for information, I've written articles in the wave page=dispatch/id=1328895#1. In Foreign Affairs I'm the ambassador to The Leftist Assembly, I'm the deputy minister of culture and the map operator. This experience has given me a unique insight into this region's WA dynamics, and how to improve them. In terms of my personal life, I like pizza, and the color purple but not purple pizza, I like to collect things, especially stamps, and I hate doxxers, and I do not live in Antarctica.

My Position in Politics and What I'm Going to do as The WA Delegate in Thalassia

Here I'm going to talk about how I'm going to vote in the WA, and how I'm going to promote involvement relating to the WA. I believe in freedom. I believe in political freedom, civil freedom and, for the most part, economic freedom. To put it in a simpler way, I'm a personal leftist, but an economic centrist, who thinks that the state should help people become better and regulate the economy while promoting economic freedom to an extent (in short, the WA). I think that climate change is a real issue, and should take top priority in politics, and that ensuring the ability for people to live a good life is the purpose of the GA. That means that I support legislation that will make the world a better place. If the legislation is flawed, unneeded, or goes against freedom in a way that will make the world worse, then it will have my vote against. My votes in the SC will be based on whether the recipient deserves/needs the act. Now for what I'm going to do in Thalassia itself.

I think that the WA needs to take a bigger role in Thalassia. We vote, but do we care? I'm going to do numerous things related to the WA in Thalassia, and all these ideas revolve around growing participation in Thalassia, here they are:

-Endo Swapping Program, called Thalassiaendos. This will encourage more endo activity in the region by giving out rewards to those who endorse the most, and will also improve regional influence and security while we're all getting those nice endos.

-Posting about WA proposals, and increased discussion. I plan to post a message on the RMB when I vote, explaining why I voted the way I did, and why you should vote this way too. If you think I'm voting in error, feel free to convince me to change. I will also make efforts to increase debate/discussion about proposals. In short, I want to be open with what I'm doing, and so I'm going to share with you, what, and why.

-I'll also be active in the WA community. I believe that a WA delegate should be able to write and be an active force in the WA community, so you can be sure that I'll represent Thalassia on the WA stage by doing those things. I'll conduct myself with sincerity and decorum, and show the world that Thalassia is more then it seems (in a good way).

-I WON'T RESIGN. You have been promised stability before, and you were failed. I promise you stability, but I'm not a semi-retired tired nation, or someone who won't talk out disagreements, I'm a nation whose career is just beginning, who has gotten the experience I need to lead you well.

-I'll take suggestions. Do you want me to do something more, something else in my domain? Then I'll be open to suggestions, and be open with the people of Thalassia.

-Synergistic endorsement limit. Do you know what happens when you don't have an endorsement limit? You can get people really close in endorsements to you, so if you resign, your vice delegate/president is not the second most endo'ed person in the region! This happened when cormac stepped down, and I was the first in Thalassia for endorsements until the government took action. This cannot happen again. As such, I'll institute a limit of 5 endorsements below my vice-delegate. This will prevent instability in the region.

-I will investigate joining a legislative league. Without a doubt, a sure way to improve our relations and standing in the world is to join a league, or create one ourselves.

Some Closing Words

Citizens of Thalassia! If you want a WA delegate who will interact with the people, who will be open with the people, who will help and learn from the people, who will represent the people the way they should be, and Who Will Not Let Down the People of this glorious region, then vote for Zentata. I have been endorsed in this election by two previous prime ministers,Badivermeraed, and Arenado. Thank you for reading my dispatch!

Please telegram me if you have any questions/suggestions, or wish for me to add a policy. Semper Thalassia.

Supreme Court Orders Free Tuition for International Students
The Avalonian Supreme Court (The High Court, as we know it here) has just delivered a landmark decision. Asserting that the Avalonian Government has a responsibility to the equal respect of human rights between classes and creeds, it has ordered that the Avalonian Government may not charge international students for tuition. "Education is a human right, and therefore must be available to all, equally", a high justice said. Although tuition will now be free, accommodation will not be free. It is expected that this decision will open Avalonian education to a larger and more diverse pool.

The nation functions like a democcracy, it has a constitutional monarch that i have mentioned before. So ye sthere is an Emporer, but he is just a cultural figure, the president is the official head of state.

sorta like Sweden Britian and other constitutional monarchies, except some of those give the monarch some sort of power, the emporer doesnt get any power except a free pass to being a celebrity
