The Most Serene Republic wishes to extend it’s warmest congratulations to Bartolomé Grillo’s election as President of Parva domus. We wish all the best for you and your nation as the Parvense people enter a new era.

In a effort to renew diplomatic relations between our nations, our Foreign Ministry inquires whether you desire to host a meeting in Punta Carretas. The Doge and the Prime Minister themselves would like to attend and discuss free trade and regional cooperation.

We eagerly await your response.

The limousine arrived at 9:15 in the morning to the Presidential Palace "Pesquero de los Viejos", a large neoclassical house, surrounded by a garden, with trees, statues and "avenues". The Presidential Guard saluted the Doge Andreas Mavrokordatos, who is the head of state of the Most Serene Republic of Cymiopolis, who traveled for the first time to Punta Carretas since the President took office on January 1st. The Doge was accompanied by the Squadron of Evzones, the presidential guard, known for the greek tsarouhia. Once inside, he was received by the Presidente Bartolomé Grillo whom, with help from the translator, welcomed him and showed him around the palace to finish with his office. On the other hand, the Doge did not need any translator since he is fluent in spanish besides Greek, Venetian and English.

The Doge felt at home in the Presidential Palace. It's neoclassical architecture reminded him of summer palace in the Malvinas. With the tour reaching it's conclusion, it was time for the men to get down to business. Having learned from his mistake in Scherzinger, Andreas asked Bartolomé if he would like to indulge in some Cymiopolitan wine. Presidente Grillo burst into laughter from the absurdity of the question. With his host's enthusiastic permission, the Doge signaled a member of his guard to fetch a bottle and some glasses. Along with an appreciation for viticulture, both men also share a love for the sea, with Andreas being a former Grand Admiral and Bartolomé having a PhD. in Marine Biology.

Having been briefed by the Prime Minister prior to his departure, the Doge's goal for this meeting was to open a Cymiopolitan Embassy in Punta Carretas and formally ratify the agreement that would see Parva Domus inducted as the ninth member of the PanAmero Zone. Over a few glasses of wine, the terms and regulations were discussed and agreed upon. Parva Domus would gradually enter the currency union with the gradual replacement of the Parvense Peso with the Panamero. It would also enter a free trade agreement that would standardize its economic, manufacturing, labour and environmental policies with those of the other member nations. As for the PAZ's Mutual Defense Pact, Parva Domus' lack of an armed forces will give it the same opt-out as Achipel, though its intelligence agency will still share intel with its PAZ counterparts. With the treaty read allowed one last time, the Doge asked the President if he had any objections before signing the agreement and heading straight to the banquet hall.

It had been several months since the Emians (Changed name cause Odiaves sounds terrible) have returned. They have a larger and redesigned fleet from their last attack in December. There isn’t much defense in Barnard’s Star this time so they crush the solar defenses and begin surging the planet. It is at this time that Frellorian Naval Command notices the incident and sends in Arcadia refitted with electronic hardening.

It shall be used to commemorate this culturally and politically important event and celebrate the work and progress accomplished by all former Secretaries-General.

    2. A separate dispatch entailing the festivities of this holiday, which shall be decided on according to popular demand, shall be created by the Department of Internal Affairs before the next June 21st after the adoption of this resolution.

  5. Secretaries-General that have been negligent with their tasks and were removed from office via dissolution by the Founder, motion of no confidence or High Court ruling will not be considered Secretaries-General Emeriti. In case a Secretary-General voluntarily resigns from their office, it shall be left to the Founder's discretion whether the receded Secretary-General is given emeritus status or not.

  6. All former Secretaries-General at the time of this resolution's ratification shall be conferred emeritus status.

The war between Ventus Prime and Kunkenga continues, engulfing large parts of the galaxy into chaos. Planets in the Kapteyn and Kepler-44 Systems have been invaded, along with many of Kunkenga’s own colonies. Both sides are locked in a stalemate, in the air and on the ground.

Frellor had joined Ventus Prime in February, primarily focused on the forces on Earth and in the Solar System while gaining support from Ventus Prime in the form of capital ships, starfighters and soldiers.

As the capital of Szel tightens it’s defenses, the galaxy lies in wait to see who will ultimately turn the odds in their favor...

"I do not" said the President just before grabbing the pen he had over the desk and signing the agreement. Then he gave it to the Doge so he could sign it. Once the last drop of ink fell on the paper, Bartolomé said "This is an historic day for all parvenses". The Chief of Staff aproched the President and said in his ear that the banquet was ready. "Oh, wonderful!" he said before looking to Andreas and ask him to join him to the baquet hall.

A state dinner was prepared in honor of the guest. The first dish was three types of empanadas. To the surprise of Andreas, a Lamb Kleftiko (a rustic traditional Greek recipe made with slow cooked lamb, first marinated in garlic, olive oil and lemon juice), which is the Doge's favorite plate and his mother's specialty, was the main course, served with parvenses finest red wine, which Bartolomé reserved for special occasions. For desert, a alfajor with dulce de leche with a little cup of lemonchello.

With the lemonchello in his hand, he tapped the cup and asked for silence. He first thanked Andrea for coming to Punta Carretas, and said it was an honor to have him at his home. Then he went on saying that he is certain that today is not only the day that Parva Domus entry into the PanAmero Zone will be remembered, but also where ties to cymiopolitans will be forged forever. Finally he gave the Doge a plate with a replica of the fishing rod that José «Pepe» Achinelli, one of the founding fathers (the other is Juan Riva Zuchelli) used, since he was a fisherman before dedicating himself to politics.

Kunkenga

Andersswhal, the capital city of Kunkenga
Tom Arnal made his way quietly along the Central Riverwalk, folding his trench coat's collar shut and tucking his chin into it. The rain was picking up and he still had a ways to go until his office.

The dim chimes from the Southern Parish in the Upper Point could be heard as they rang 9 o'clock. Tom began to pick up his pace. A group of street punks walked past him, their hair a garish display of color and style. One of them carried a boombox on their shoulder and provided the rest with a steady rhythm of chintzy euro-pop.

C'est pas ma faute!
Et quand je donne ma langue aux chats je vois les autres!

It was a catchy song Tom thought, as he turned off the riverwalk and began making his way towards the municipal district. The cobbled streets of the Lower Point slowly began to give way to the freshly paved asphalt of the Upper Point. The rain also began to come down much heavier; pedestrians caught without their umbrellas began sprinting for cover and street vendors began tarping up their carts and heading for the nearest bar.

Trying to look at his watch through the cascading raindrops on his glasses Tom saw he was already going to be late. Deciding to cut his losses, he lifted his briefcase over his head and joined the street vendors at the bar.

The warmth of the bar's interior immediately clouded his glasses but was a welcoming presence against the bitter cold and rain. Baltimora's "Tarzan Boy" played loudly over the speakers. Most of the patrons were young adults who were seated towards the rear of the bar, engaging each other in deep discussion about politics and art. Tom's glasses had finally cleared enough to notice the youths. Their fashion spoke to their desire to appear both cool and unmoored to entire idea of being cool he thought.

A group of burly middle-aged dockworkers sat near the front of the bar, knocking back drinks and cracking jokes at the expense of the young males in the back.

"Pencil necked pansies." one called out.

"I swear each of em thinks they're the next Karl friggin Marx!" another exclaimed.

One dockworker placed his union membership card on the table, its bright red coloring now faded into a dim orange under the bar lights. "See this right here, this is real praxis" he burped out. Tom noticed however, that despite their teasing, their eyes always seemed to linger sorrowfully on the women that sat around the young men in the back.

Tom approached the bar counter and ordered a drink. Something light he told himself, he still had to make it in to work after all. Maybe he should call in first he thought. He fished a couple of quarters out of his pocket and made his way towards the bars payphone in the back. Walking past the group of youths he noticed that the street punks he saw earlier were among them. He shot a sheepish smile at them to which the responded with a knock on their boombox and thumbs up.

He heard the music in the bar switch to Jefferson Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" as he dialed out to his receptionist's desk at his office.

"Hello, you've reached the office of Thomas Arnal at the Ministry of Defense. Is this call in regards to a scheduled appointment?"

"Lucy, this is Tom. I'm calling in to tell you I'm going to be coming in a little late today."

Tom could almost see the eyes on his receptionist's face rolling into the back of her head on the other end.

"Well you really know how to pick the right days. Things here are super busy." she prodded.

"I'm sure they are. If you could just work my meetings around for later in the day, go ahead and pencil them in for my lunch break."

"Will do. Remember, you also have an all cabinet meeting at 12:30. Its a hard one so I cant schedule around that." she added.

"I'll be in well before that Lucy, don't worry. Thanks." he answered.

"No problem sir." she finished, hanging up.

Jefferson Starship's power ballad slowly gave way to Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is."

Tom returned to the bar and began to wait out the rain, while in the back of the bar the punks had set their boom box to the public news station.

"...the rebellion in the northern states continues for the second straight year. Prompted by dissatisfaction of the local leadership and the central government's handling of the of the DNPI outbreak three years ago, what began as localized protests and strikes have slowly developed into what appears to be a small scale insurrection. Leaked intelligence documents recently revealed that fascist elements have imbedded among the protesting groups and instigated acts of violence in some areas. There is also concern that reactionary elements have even begun taking positions of power among the protesters. Klaus Bremen, the newly elected far right MP from the Golden Bloc royalist faction, has been seen giving speeches and addressing groups of armed protesters. There is also concern that influence from the Nationalist German Empire has contributed to the rise in violence in the north, however these claims have not been confirmed by our sources. Chancellor Klauffman is planning to convene a meeting with members of his cabinet today to address the unrest. Anonymous sources claim that a plan has been in the works to send the military to quell the protests but the Chancellor and others in his Red Bloc socialist faction have vehemently denied this. Minister of Defense Thomas Arnal, in a press conference given on the southern border of one of the rebellious states stated that "fascist elements have corrupted what began as a justified protest against corruption within the state government in the north." he added that "the future of our Democratic Republic will depend on the decisions made here" and that "the central government will rise to any challenge foreign and domestic in order to maintain our great nation." He concluded his remarks by stating famous statesman, Anders Hurtz's, quote from his final day in parliament back in 1951. "The leftist is the natural enemy of the fascist."

Present day Andresswhal 80 years later.
A low flying imperial ship lands in the center of what was once a public square in the Upper Point. Its search lights cut into the darkness and its rotors fling the scattered trash across the ground. A unit of troopers exit the ship and begin patrolling the streets. Soon two more ships land and disgorge additional troopers. They are all dressed in blue-grey urban camouflage and make their way towards the bombed out buildings that surround the square. Old posters litter the walls and broken windows.

One depicts a map of Kunkenga colored red with its northern states colored yellow. Invasive yellow arrows sprout from the north and snake into the rest of the map. "They've Taken the North! Don't Let Andersswhal Be Next!"

Another depicts a picture of a red fist clutching a rose and crushing a mangy black cat wearing a spiked helmet. "Crush the Fascists! Vote Red Bloc!"

Another depicts a portrait of a young man boldly looking into the distance with a small rose on his lapel. "Ernst Hurtz, OUR NEXT CHANCELLOR!"

Another simply has a picture of an old bearded man and the same young man with the rose lapel from before. Epitaphs are printed below their pictures. "Remember MP Hurtz, Chancellor Klauffman. We WILL strike back!"

Another depicts a group of armed men and women dressed in red and black holding rifles and roses. One group holds up a banner with an anchor and rope. "Support the Andersswhal Dockworkers, and the young students fighting for us ALL! Join a Red Militia Today and Take Back Our Republic!"

Another flitters quietly in a ruined storefront, faded and crudely printed on crumpled butcher paper. There is no picture "The ENEMY is NOW at OUR gates! We must DEFEND it with ALL we have!"

The imperial troopers smashed into the buildings through their rotted doors and swept through their rooms while the ships outside shone their searchlights into the windows. Sinister shadows were cast along the cracked walls and the lights revealed the targets that had been placed there for the troops to fire at.

Outside a group of military officers stood beside the ships and watched as the troops worked their way from building to building.

"Smooth operating right here, this might be one of our quickest exercises yet!" one officer remarked.

"Have we set up the demo team's exercise ready yet?" another asked.

"Yep, we've wired that old bar over there as our staging ground." another answered, pointing to a dilapidated building in the corner of the square.

A group of troops exit a building and begin making their way towards the officers.

"Eighteen minutes sir, pretty sure it's a record" one the troops says.

"And look, we found this in there too." a young private clamors, holding up a tattered flag. Its colors faint and a gaping moth hole eaten into the star at its center.

"An old republic flag." one of the officers remarks.

"Son, I'm sure you got taught that this entire city was one of the central battlefields of the Nation's War. You're bound to find tons of old republic garbage in these buildings, the cowards left everything behind when they lost." another officer sneers. "Private, that flag is as meaningless as the bum rags in our latrines. Our guys probably torn it down from there." he continued, pointing to a massive steel flagpole at the center of the square. A yellow flag with a black bugle fluttered in the night breeze at its top. "And you better believe I'm not going to let that flag get replaced any time soon. So get back in that building all of you. I want ten minutes this time!" barked the officer.

"Lets get some music here!" another officer shouts. The ships begin playing Laura Branigan's "Self Control" through their speakers as the troopers continue running their drills.

Just some back story on how the alternate version of my nation that I'm RPing as began. More info in my factbooks. Basically, somewhere before my current leader got elected, a rebellion in the north of the country got coopted by fascist groups and, with support from the Nationalist german empire, eventually beat the socialist government and they took over after a civil war. The government they created is the one I'm RPing as now.

BTW got caught up in a mass arrest at a protest and got held for like 12 hours so I've just been trying to vibe for a couple days since, hope that explains my absence Ventus Prime. They didn't press charges though so I guess that's a plus.

New united carolinas

Wilmington, NRC

April, 2148

According to recent media coverage, Ariana had been spotted for the first time since the Palmetto City hotel attack on New Years'. The media was true, as Vice President Barney Miller stepped in her place while she took a vacation. She was granted this vacation after many appointments with her psychologist. Though originally reluctant to take a break, it soon became apparent that her mental health was in jeopardy, after being traumatized in Palmetto City.

Ariana had traveled to multiple places during her break. She visited Kymiopolis, Cymiopolis, and Venezia, North italian union. She did also plan on visiting New spiedska and Karteria, but she wasn't exactly sure where. These were, for the most part, unplanned trips. The leaders of these nations weren't informed either, and Ariana intended to keep it that way. Currently, however, she was at Carolina Beach in Wilmington, isolated from the other citizens, who couldn't keep their eyes off of her. The President just sitting and playing in the sand with their recently adopted puppies, was a sight to behold. What made it more absurd was the bodyguards constantly surrounding her, as she casually minded her business. There were even bodyguards standing in the Ocean as Serenity and Rightcheous swam, still in their suits. Unbeknown to the citizens, there were also snipers surrounding the general area.

Some of the citizens were of course confused. But most were sympathetic considering they were well aware of the attack in Myrtle Beach and how close Ariana could've been to dying. That said, it wasn't all fun and games for Ariana. She was still planning her talking points for the upcoming election, especially as the other parties held their national conventions soon. Granted she wasn't too worried. Her approval ratings were off the chart, and with her transport plan, space colony plans, and improved healthcare plans, she knew she'd have a good shot at winning. Though she'd still go all-in when campaigning.

Ariana continued to play with her puppies. They were a pitbull-lab mix, only around 2 weeks old. As they kissed and nibbled on her fingers, a bodyguard looked to her. "Madam President. There's a call for you from the Secretary of Foreign Affairs. They wanted you to know that Parva domus has just recently joined the PAZ."

Ariana, not even looking at the guard, responded. "Ah. Tell them I support the decision."

"Uh... that's it?"

"Oh, and throw in a diplomat too. I also don't care where they build the embassy. Or where our consulate will be. Anywhere will do."

Ariana laughed as one of the puppies slipped on the sand after attempting to nip at her pointer finger. The guard simply sighed and relayed a more sophisticated version of the President's nonchalant response. She was on vacation, after all.

(No problem. Unfortunately because time goes much faster in RP, it’s already been five months since the assassination attempt so I’ve had to improvise.)

Anima City, Nubila

A year, a month, even a few days ago, Nubila was the crown jewel of the Kapteyn System and Anima City was the crown capital. Now, it was mostly empty, save for the large military force standing between it and the ocean ahead. The sudden imperial fleet that had jumped into the system had caught everyone off guard, though mostly everyone was able to escape before the enemy broke through the Kapteynian defenses.

The ground forces were more prepared, activating the planetary shield that kept the imperial forces at bay. However, there were ways to avoid the shield, either by going underwater or digging underneath the shield entirely. Fortunately, the ground forces were prepared for this.

The beach was completely covered by a combination of troops, artillery, and walkers in the background. Many of the troops present were Kapteynian, though some humans were in the mix as well. The line had been drawn. They had to hold this position at all costs. Retreating into the city would only complicate things.

It was then a scout noticed something out at sea and pulled out his electrobinoculars. He could count at least a dozen transports popping out of the water. “Transports!”

The troops in the trenches had their weapons ready as the Kunkengan got closer. Once they were in range, the artillery opened fire.

Amina City, Nubila
The explosions overhead reflected through the occluded waters of Anima City's coast. Imperial transport ships rocked against the rough waves as they ferried scores of shock troopers closer to the shore line. The gleaming city beyond the water was their quarry, but between them lay a formidable alliance of Republican troops and Kapteynian warriors. A low flying assault ship buzzed above a transport, sprinkling a mist of displaced saltwater from its rotors before falling formation with a larger fleet of aircraft.

"Alright gentlemen!" an imperial officer called out to the huddled soldiers in one of the transports, his voice almost drowned out against the sound of the water and engine. "I'm sure you understand what our mission is here, but allow me to recount for the thicker headed among you."

An artillery shell exploded several feet above the transport and took out an assault ship. The soldiers on the transports could feel the heat all the way from the water.

"The enemy is dug in already. We know they're keen on holding on to this bit of land. But were determined to pry it out of their lily-livered hands."

The soldiers let out a low cheer from behind their helmets and brandish their weapons in the air.

"First the areal assault is going to try and bomb the cowards out of the trenches."

Squadrons of assault ships weave through the anti-air fire as they make their way closer to the beach.

"Then our destroyers up there are going to reign down some heat on their rear artillery."

A fleet of star destroyers floating in Nubila's upper atmosphere are joined by several more out of hyperspace.

"Then we make our landing. Teams A-C first, then D-G, then H on through to us in team L."

A few soldiers on another transport peek over the side of the ship as scattered suppressive fire flies towards them, narrowly missing their heads.

"Then, after we land... the insurance comes in."

The piercing screech is of a deep space jump is heard all around as a black destroyer rockets into the lower atmosphere. The Crecent, flagship of the 3rd Legion had arrived. Squadrons of star fighters begin flying from its hangar, all escorting seven metallic drop ships.

Steel City, Sor
The republican attack on Sor was doomed from the start. The planet's strategic importance to the Kunkengan war effort afforded it some of the strongest defensive considerations of any other colony in the galaxy. Atop this, its hostile environment provided a natural line of defense to those ill equipped to navigate it.

Republican troops were cut down almost as soon as they exited their landing craft, others were caught in the hidden lava flows that littered the planet's surface. Steel workers ran out of the factory floor and headed to the armory to suit up and defend the foundry walls, meanwhile security officers ran to assist the troops fighting the invading force on the outskirts of the city. Squadrons of star fighters began filling the polluted sky and attacking the republican naval vessels from their orbit above the clouds.

The WASP that had been tasked with hunting Sinon Asada understood that this change in events would radically complicate its mission. However, finding Sinon had been made easier. She would likely be the only person who didn't know what to do in response to the invasion. She never knew it was going to happen.

Find the odd one out the WASP thought.

Still disguised as a security officer, it began making its way through the sea of running foundry workers and troops. Scanning the crowd for Sinon's face.

Anima City

Four squadrons of T-50s, V-Wings, Y-Wings, and ARC-170s descended into Nubila’s atmosphere and made their way towards Anima City. “Alright everyone listen up,” Blue Leader said. “Imperial forces have made their way through the planetary shield. Blue and Green Squadrons will provide support and take out the enemy fighters and bombers while Gold and Red Squadrons will go after that Destroyer.”

“Got it Blue Leader.”

“Let’s hit em with everything we got!”

The four squadrons split up, with the T-50s and V-Wings engaging the enemy ships on the ground while the Y-Wings and ARC-170s went after the large black destroyer. Meanwhile, two Praetors and three Nebulas were now in the clouds, attacking the other ships in atmosphere.

The troops began firing as the transports got closer and the walkers began firing as well, the entire coastline lit up with laser fire. “Bombers coming in, everyone get to cover!” someone yelled as the troops braced themselves inside the trenches.

Sinon was lost amidst the confusion as foundry workers and soldiers were running all over the place. Was the planet under attack? If so, was it the Republic? Their timing couldn’t be any worse. All she had to do was find one piece of beskar and get out of there. There had to be a service elevator somewhere.

Meanwhile, Leon and Annjay were just outside the foundry, witnessing the attack taking place. “I thought they said twelve hours,” Leon snapped.

“Apparently we never had that much time,” Annjay said. “Asada has to be inside.”

“Ugh, alright fine let’s just find and get out before they start bombarding the place.” Leon could see the Republic ships launch fighters as it engaged with Imperial forces.

Welcome to the New West Indies Nixne! I am glad you decided to jump in after that telegram, and I hope you enjoy your time with us!

The NWI can look a bit intimidating, so we collated this guide for you

Welcome to the New West Indies!

What is this place?

Our community is a dedicated group of roleplayers, government workers, lawmakers, comedy junkies, flag-makers, designers, and many more!

Founded on March 7th, 2018 by Achipel, the New West Indies (NWI) initially created a modern roleplay canon that has continued ever since. Nations began solely in the Caribbean area of the map, but as the community grew (and grow quickly it did), the roleplay became more complex with it, becoming more Post-Modern and spawning a variety of new adventures.

Vexillology (flag-making) is at the heart of the region. Experienced creators like Cymiopolis, New united carolinas, and Portinabia (among others) frequently show off their skills.

Government and lawmaking have recently begun to take hold, as many experienced members debate potential reforms and changes to regional institutions and affairs.

Members often discuss politics, memes, games, and other topics on our Regional Message Board (RMB) and especially Discord. Anyone who follows the rules and wants to have a good time in their area of interest is welcome here!

What should I do first?

Apply for Citizenship!

You should start your New West Indies experience by completing the Citizenship Application, which will allow you to experience roleplay, lawmaking, and other engaging activities! Once you fill it out completely, relevant authorities will inform you if it is approved.

Make sure to answer every question! To decide what RP claim you want (if desired), go to the Regional Map – make certain that what you want isn't already taken (is any color besides grey). If you are having trouble with the app, contact a regional officer.

Explore our Community!

Our Linkdiscord server is the best place to start – you can begin mingling with the citizenry and ask questions if you're confused. You can also introduce yourself on the RMB as well.

Our Constitution outlines our laws and values – every citizen should read it and be familiar with the rules of the Indies road.

Speaking of the RMB, getting your feet wet in roleplay is quite important if you want to participate. Whether you're a newer player or experienced roleplayer, it's beneficial to get your first post out there and introduce yourself in- and out-of-character.

Finally, you should consider accessing the following resources for knowledge and further assistance:

Regional Master Dispatch

| Where you can find links to every regional resource, including many described in this document

Glossary of Terms

| Are you confused by NationStates lingo or our region's terminology? This ought to help

How do I get involved?

Roleplay!

Roleplay (RP) is the main attraction for new and old members alike. Start by creating your nation's basic lore; where is it on the map? What are its socioeconomic challenges? What are its politics like? These questions and others will guide you through creating an overview dispatch (such as this one) if you are so inclined. Otherwise, begin diplomatically engaging and describing the issues your nation faces on the RMB, so everyone can start getting familiar.

Once you are settled into the canon, branch out! Create some personable characters, discuss IC legislation in the Union of Nations, make an alliance, or create your own business! If you are so inclined, and become familiar with our guidelines, you could even make your own roleplay for the region! The possibilities are truly at your leisure (barring something extraneous).

See below for further assistance.

Guide to NWI Roleplay

| To start getting acquainted with how RP functions in our region, see here

Participate in the General Assembly!

Once you become a citizen, you are automatically a member of the NWI General Assembly (GA), our regional lawmaking body. As such, you have the opportunity to not only vote on and discuss legislation, but you can also propose your own! We have many experienced members that can assist in the process, especially for newer members. The best way to begin learning about the GA and discuss law is to join our Linkdiscord and go to the GA channel.

Constitution

| Supreme NWI Law

Passed Resolutions

| A repository of all passed GA legislation

Contribute to the Regional Government!

Our Executive Branch is made of the Secretary-General, the head of government, who every six months (once elected) appoints a cabinet of four Secretaries that make up the "Secretariat." These nations execute GA law, protect the region, and moderate certain regional affairs.

Once you become more familiar with our region, any citizen can run for office, whether that be the Secretary-General or General Assembly President! Additionally, you can be appointed to a Secretarial position or a lower role within one of the Executive departments.

Even if you do not want to work in government, it is your prerogative as a citizen to vote in elections, which increases representation and makes government work better for the people as a result.

Join the World Assembly!

Joining the world assembly not only provides many benefits to you, but also helps the region in numerous ways.

Once you've joined the world assembly, you should endorse the current delegate (Karteria), which allows the delegate to have more sway in World Assembly voting and further secures the region. You can also discuss current WA topics and legislation with other members of the NWI in our WA channel on Linkdiscord.

See "2.4 What is the World Assembly?" near the bottom of this document for instructions on how to attain WA membership.

What are issues?

Issues are the key to any initial NationStates experience. To access them, click the button in the top left corner of your page that says "issues." From there, you can answer the critical questions for your nation however you please.

Depending on how you answer issues, they will affect your nation's "stats" and potentially enact "policies." See the toolbar on your nation's page (underneath your motto) for more information about each effect.

Issues have no major bearing on regional roleplay, but they can give you ideas for how to formulate your nation in-character. Just answered an issue enacting euthanasia, or banning nuclear power? Why not do it in RP too!

If you don't want to answer issues, or you want to answer them more/less frequently, you can adjust the duration between each one in your nation's settings.

What is a dispatch?

Anima City
Faint flashes of red and green light from the battle in space could be seen from the planet's surface. Far below, Republican fighters filled the air and began strafing the landing crafts and assault ships as they made their way closer to Anima City's shoreline.

A few Kunkengan fighter-bombers managed to break through the mass of republican ships and reach Amina City's seaside defenses. Below them was a lattice pattern of trenches and fortifications beside a dense canopy of tropical forest. After some quick reorientation and identification of targets the fighter-bombers began flying their bombing route, perpendicular to the sea shore.

"Bombs away."

Soldiers looking over the edges of their transports saw the horizon light up in flames as the bombs were dropped along the trench line. Now came their turn.

The first wave of landing craft, teams A-C, were largely destroyed by the incoming wave of Republican troops. Many of them sat floating in the middle of the sea, their interiors belching flames as burning soldiers struggled to leap overboard. The second wave, teams D-G, made a successful landing and immediately began engaging the Republican troops. They would quickly be supplemented by the third wave, teams H-L.

"Move up!" came the order from several commanding officers as their troops alighted into the shallow waters. Blaster bolts whizzed by in all directions and the screech of low flying fighters rang out across the beach head. The troops waded their way on the the flaming shores.

Most of the soldiers from the second wave, along with the surviving soldiers from the first wave, had taken defensive positions in the craters made from the bombing run. Third wave soldiers used their cover fire to slowly move up past the bombed out trenches.

"L team, flank around the right side!" an officer barked

"You two, push up past that crater and lay down some suppressive fire from behind the empty trenches" came another order

Meanwhile, several thousand feet in the air, the seven drop ships dispatched by the 3rd Legion's destroyer the Crescent touched down a few miles east of the main landing zone. Republican blasters and anti-air ricocheted flatly against the smooth steel plating. The drop ships quietly landed in a small forest clearing along side the enemy lines.

As the seven ship's opened their doors, heavily armored boots began marching off, eventually revealing the ships passengers. HORNET troopers, now dressed in their marine assault armor. Their usual solid black coloring of their armor was now a metallic beige, almost the color of the sand around them but not quite the same. Their helmets also had a brim like protuberance on the forehead, as if they were wearing a metallic ski cap. Blue, skirt like, belt spats hung from either side of their waists.

As the units disembarked they talked among each other through their encrypted channels, then began making their way towards the trenches.

Steel City, Sor
The WASP continued its surveillance amid the chaos in the foundry. Weaving itself slowly and swiftly through the crowd of running people, it almost looked like a salmon swimming upstream. Then it saw her, Sinon. She appeared confused, as if analyzing the layout of the foundry for some specific location.

She's looking for something it thought.

Mere seconds after confirming its target, the WASP began sprinting towards her with superhuman speed. Its gait was almost completely silent, save for the sound of the security officer's belt that it had to create as part of its disguise.

It now no longer cared about bumping into the crowd around it, those in its path were pushed away with smooth but powerful force. Once it broke past the crowd, the WASP's right arm morphed itself into a sleek blade, its chrome coloring reflecting against the amber atmosphere and falling sparks around the foundry.

Files the machine had recorded about this target indicated she possessed a keen reflexes and exhibited similarly keen abilities at close quarters combat. However, it knew she still posed no threat. She was alone, and likely wasn't even armed. This was a slam dunk, and with all the confusion around her, it probably would even have to kill her too discretely.

It continued running towards her.

Their helmets also had a brim like protuberance on the forehead, as if they were wearing a metallic ski cap. Blue, skirt like, belt spats hung from either side of their waists.

As the units disembarked they talked among each other through their encrypted channels, then began making their way towards the trenches.

The sudden explosion broke their ranks as any surviving troops tried to fill in any gaps. “Keep up that suppressive fire!” Another soldier was yelling into his radio. “We need reinforcements!”

Meanwhile, the fighters above went after the remaining bombers, trying to destroy them before they dropped their payload. One of the pilots noticed the drop ships land in the distance. “Enemy drop ships are in your area.”

“Understood. Send in a shock unit along with some armor!” The shock troopers wore heavier armor and carried bigger guns, specifically the TL-50 Heavy Blaster.

Sinon saw the man coming and was only to barely roll away in time without being hit as her cloak fell away. She pulled out her A280C blaster and fired at him repeatedly. However, instead of the man falling dead, he only seemed stunned by the impact. “Oh great...” Sinon knew she had no choice but to run, despite her mission.

The landing troops had been making a steady advance towards the shore's rear, the artillery instalments were now visible in the distance. But their air support was waning, there were no longer enough armed fighter-bombers to take out all the remaining targets. The republic's pilots had done a good job taking out the ones that still had ordinance left to drop.

All three waves of troops were now pushing forward, taking advantage of the enemy's lack of available forces. It was too soon to say how long this would last, but everyone knew they should make the most of the opportunity while it would last.

Elsewhere, the Hornet troopers began making their way towards the enemy trench line, determined to flank them. But upon clearing the forest they had landed in, they were quickly met by a crack team of republic shock troopers.

The central commanders of the seven Hornet squads calmly called out a set of garbled commands through their encrypted coms and their subordinates quickly drew their rifles and dashed for cover.

There were 21 Hornets in all, three in each squad, and with those numbers they could have easily taken out the shock troopers without need for cover. But these were armed with heavy repeaters.

Repeater rifles, while not able to pierce a Hornet's Beskar steel armor, could effectively negate its defensive qualities in the right hands. The rate of fire on some repeaters could knock a trooper in hardened Beskar armor to the ground. The armor simply protected the troopers, it didn't displace the force of the blast.

There was going to be a firefight. But, as usual, all the Hornets had to do was get that one good shot.

Sinon's fire had left a few holes in the WASP's face and chest, but they were soon filled and it continued its pursuit of her.

The shots had bought her some time to make distance between herself and it, but that would soon be bridged.

While running the WASP notified a young mill worker struggling to get his armor on before running to join the battle outside the foundry walls. He had left his EC-17 flash pistol unattended and without stopping the WASP snatched it away and kept running.

Squaring its shoulders and compensating for its body movements, the WASP stuck out a rigid arm and aimed the pistol at the small of Sinon' back. It let out a hail of shots towards her, each of them missing slightly.

Something is wrongit thought.

Something was wrong indeed. The machine noticed it had been making mistakes since it first arrived on the planet, such as forgetting to properly disguise itself in front of the gate keeper it was now mimicking.

Perhaps its the heat. it thought.

"Sorry Mitch, it's just this damned heat. Must be making me see things... I dunno." the WASP said as it continued running towards Sinon.

It accidentally used the voice clip from when it pretended to be the gate keeper after killing him. Something was clearly wrong.

But as long as its ability to complete the mission wasn't severely impeded, a minor glitch wouldn't be a problem, it thought, throwing the flash pistol aside and continuing gaining closer to Sinon.

The fact that the unknown troops were getting knocked down but getting back up again was enough for the unit to change tactics. They took cover in the trees, exchanging fire a couple of them threw grenades in the Hornets’ direction. It wasn’t long before they heard the sound of something rumbling in their direction. An AT-TE was lumbering towards them and the unit scattered as the walker started firing upon the Hornets’ current location.

Sinon could hear a voice behind, though it sounded more like a recording. The lift was mere feet away and she had to get out of here. She went in and hit the button as fast as she could, hoping the door would close in time as she tried shooting the thing in the legs.

Friendly reminder that it’s helpful to 'spoiler' quoted posts, especially when they are long. Easier to peruse the RMB that way. :)
