Kunkenga wrote:A gatekeeper turns down his radio set and opens his guard box window to look at an approaching figure through the scorching heat. The figure's silhouette first appears black against the amber tint of the heated atmosphere, then slowly comes into color as it approaches. It's Richard Stewman, floor worker at the Steel City foundry. His standard teal coveralls fit tight over his fat frame and he has a slight limp in his right foot.

He is a very convincing replica.

The Wasp had done a really good job. It had finally reached the location where it would be going undercover, but there still remained the catch of getting into the foundry.

"Richie?" called out the gatekeeper at Steel City's southern checkpoint

"Ya got me right." it answered, saluting two thick fingers in the gate keeper's direction.

"What... how the hell did you get..." the gatekeeper stammered, looking frantically at the heat waves shimmering from the direction the Wasp came. "Where did you come from?"

"Got discharged from the hospital a while back, doctor did a great job patching my foot right back up." the Wasp answered, patting the ground with his right toe.

The Wasp, despite being a bleeding edge machine, had made a crucial error that it was starting to realize. It forgot to mimic the oxygen mask and heat protection that a real man would require while walking through the scorching flats in this area of the planet. It understood that it was about to be compromised and had to act quickly.

"I- I gotta call this in wait just a second." blurted the gatekeeper, quickly rolling his guard box window back up and scrambling to find a communicator.

The Wasp slowly approached the guard box, leering at the gatekeeper as he fumbled with a transceiver and began dialing.

"H-hey Mitch, this is Donny. I've got a problem here there's-" the gate keeper was quickly cut off following a sickening sound, like piece of smooth metal violently grinded on a fine edge.

A long chrome blade had been impaled into the gatekeeper's face, entering from between his eyebrows and exiting out the back of his head, pinning its sharp end against the back wall of his guard box. His dead eyes were crossed, looking at the shimmering blade between them.

The blade's source was the Wasp's index finger which had been horrifically extended and morphed into a chrome skewer that burst through the guard box window and into the gatekeeper's head.

The Wasp retracted the blade back with a small "snikt" noise, and looked into the guard box through the shattered window.

The gatekeeper's transceiver had been dropped, a low voice continued continued mumbling through it.

After swiftly breaking the handle off the guard box door, the Wasp entered and grabbed the transceiver.

"Donny, talk to me. What's going on?"

The Wasp began mimicking the gatekeepers voice, feigning a cough and mumbling a few words under its breath.

"Sorry Mitch, it's just this damned heat. Must be making me see things... I dunno." it answered.

"Piss off Donny, you already on gate duty because you couldn't keep your cool on today's patrol detail, now you're telling me you're seeing things?" the voice clamored, clearly not for the first time "You really need to get a psych eval man, all those days on Shoif must be catching up to you."

"Maybe..." the Wasp replied, its face affectless as it processed the information it received.

The gatekeeper was actually a soldier, usually acting as a patrol unit but recently relegated to work today's shift at the gate. Perhaps because of his hot temper. Or perhaps his weak nerves? Or maybe he literally couldn't properly handle the extreme heat of the planet? The meaning of the phrase "keep your cool" was difficult for the Wasp to parse without the proper context. However the first two options were the most likely considering the pejorative the voice on the transceiver made about his need for a psychiatric evaluation. A history of instability? The Wasp could access Steel City's employee database to search the medical records but would have to find a terminal. The reference to Shoif was a possible indicator. A tropical planet that was the site of a barbaric rebel defeat by the monarchy during the rebel conflict. Perhaps the gatekeeper was a veteran, one of the many imperial troops that engaged in the invasion of the isolas and beachheads? The Wasp filed this thought process for later review and returned to the call.

"...sorry about it anyways." the Wasp finished.

"Whatever" the voice on the other end grumbled, clicking off their transceiver and closing the connection.

The Wasp looked over its shoulder at the dead gatekeeper, his was body sliding off the chair and onto the floor of the crammed guard box.

It calculated that disguising itself as a guard would afford it additional authority and a better chance of successfully apprehending its target.

Placing a cold hand over the dead gatekeepers body, the Wasp began morphing to take his shape. Briefly revealing shimmering waves of its featureless chrome body as it mimicked the black uniform and Royal Army patches the gatekeeper wore. Having finished its transformation it stripped the gatekeeper of his credentials and carried his body a few feet away to a small lava flow where it dumped him.

Pressing its ID card against the southern gate, two massive blast doors creaked opened to the crowded warrens and workshops of Steel City. The hunt was now on for Sinon Asada.

Surveyors Council chambers, somewhere underneath the Royal Army HQ on Salsol
Grand Moff Redd sat alone at the council table, the hologram displaying what appeared to an elegant party. Across from him, calling in via hologram, was Moff Kraven.

"The other surveyors have made the necessary preparations. We are ready to strike at anytime." Redd quietly said, his bleary eyes fixed on the feed of the party.

"Is our little present ready to spring open?" he continued.

"Y-yes sir." Moff Kraven whispered, his quivering mouth visible even through his hologram.

"Our strategy simply can't work if we strike first. We must give them a reason to act..." Redd muttered.

"Wh-why didn't you call in the others on the council for this sir." Moff Kraven sheepishly asked, trying not to look into the Grand Moff's manic eyes.

"You seemed to be the only one who can understand the requirement of this sort of untrammeled violence. Appreciate why it is necessary. You never gave me flak for the first assassination. You understood why I HAD to put it together. They bloodied our nose at Ganymede and..." Redd answered, his movements growing increasingly frantic before slowly calming down, "...and besides, you seem to be the only one who understands how these machines work."

Moff Kraven winced as a bead of sweat rolled into his eye.

"Look at them... fireworks..." Redd sneered, "You know, the socialists started using them as ordinance against us during the final days of the Democratic Republic. Of course that's ancient history, long before you or I was born. Long before we even reached for the stars..." he sputtered, slowly drifting focus away before snapping back, "How about we give these heathens a real spectacle! A true new years celebration! Moff Kraven, you have the honors." Redd called out.

"God help us." Moff Kraven whispered before flipping a small switch in his hand.

PALMETTO CITY
Political and social elites from around the world, dressed resplendently in flowing gowns and neatly pressed suits, gathered around a balcony on a hot southern night and watched as fireworks blasted their brilliant colors over the dark blue sky.

Amid the celebration, a lone server lay down his tray and began making a bee line towards a woman dressed in blue. He seamlessly moved between party goers, never once bumping into them or making a sound. Even in the crowd he appeared invisible.

It was difficult for anyone to make out, the crowd was too tightly packed around him, but as he got closer to the woman his arms began to change. First elongating slightly from the wrists, then morphing into a brilliant chrome color. The servers hands also began melting together and tapering into fine points. Nobody present at the party could have identified what the server actually was, nor could they try and stop him as he had already broken out into a full sprint towards the woman in blue.

"LADY LYSITH-!" a voice called out, it was a stranger that had caught a glimpse of the server's hands and saw him making his way towards the woman. With a slight flick of his wrist, the server slit the strangers throat as he continued on his way.

The stranger's cry hadn't carried far enough for the woman to hear on account of the fireworks. But it did alert those around him to what was going on. Many of them began running away, some began screaming at the sight of the server and the dying stranger.

Unperturbed, the server continued running towards the woman, who was now less than 100 feet away. However, by then the commotion had made its way to her, and she turned to see the server running towards her throw the fleeing crowd, bladed hands on either side.

BOOM! UNDERCOVER WASP! Your call if it kills Lysithea or if it gets stopped and you have to destroy it.

Kunkenga wrote:The wasp was too late, the woman had been whisked away by two guards before it could reach her. It stopped running and looked into the chaotic crowd. She was making her way towards her ship. It had to quickly find a way past the line of guards that now stood between its target. It geared up and began sprinting, hacking away at the civilians who got into its path or tried to slow it down.

The wasp read the scene in a nanosecond, five guards spread out and armed with commando pistols. They posed as much a threat to it as the idiots who tried to tackle it as it continued running. But they were an obstacle nonetheless, and if they were good shots they could really slow it down. They were, after all, members of a prominent government official's security detail and they were likely selected from premier military stock. Their formation and body language also displayed great confidence, their marksmanship would surely reflect that. But they were also scared, although they wouldn't show it. The wasp took this into account as well.

"Take him out!" one of the guards yelled.

The shots were well placed. Bolts hit the wasp across its chest and face, creating small chrome colored holes as its liquid metal form was exposed. It was enough to stagger the machine as it continued running towards the guards, but not enough to stop it.

It quickly made its way to the line and leaped out towards them. It plunged its skewers into the chests of two of guards, one on either hand. Three of the other guards tried to dogpile it, but were rapidly impaled by a repeating succession of blades that budded out from its back.

The final guard, after making some distance between himself and the machine, continued firing. The wasp shook the dead guards off its back and began running towards him, but just before it got there a colossal figure emerged from out of the blue and and plunged a meaty fist into the machine's left temple.

The force created a gaping hole in the wasp's liquid metal head and sent it crashing backwards into a table.

An unpredicted variable, the target had a personal bodyguard. The liquid metal design of the wasp's nanomachines essentially meant it was one big eye, so it should have been able to react to the approaching woman, however her speed seemed to outpace its reflexes. This was an easily solvable problem, reaction speed was an attribute it could increase. Her strength however, was also able to severely compromise the its structural composition, she could levy considerable damage if she got too close. This was not a solvable problem. A plan had to be devised...

The wasp lay rigid on the broken table as its head quietly reshaped itself. The target was now out of sight. The bodyguard inched closer...

*snikt*

With impossible speed, the wasp stretched out a single skewer 12 feet from its index finger and stabbed it into the exposed shoulder of the bodyguard. It was the furthest it could reach.

Force her to keep her distance.

The wasp rose from the table and met eyes with the bodyguard. It couldn't feel fear, but it understood that this was going to be a tough battle. But she wouldn't be the one to destroy it, she couldn't. She neither had heavy ordinance, nor could she generate high heat.

Ventus Prime wrote:Raphtalia was no stranger to pain. She grew up with it from most of her childhood, working in the mines on Nubila. After that, she had to go through basic training when she joined the Naval Academy on Pontoon. It was also after training with her former master that she could mentally block out pain, or at least reduce it down to no more than a prick of a needle. Even so, this hurt a little bit worse.

Despite her shoulder being pinned, she was able to grab the vibroblade from her waist and managed to cut through the twelve foot blade, freeing herself before yanking the large piece of metal out of her. She winced as blood started dripping down her arm.

“I don’t know who you are, or rather what you are, but you are not going to lay a finger on Lysithea,” she stated as she drew her blade forward. “Regardless of whether you have emotions, you’ll have the honor of dying by my hand!”

She moved forward at a speed that most couldn’t find humanly possible. The man was keeping his distance, which was good for her but she had to keep his attention. She dodged his attacks, moving fluidly and using her blade as both weapon and shield. Perhaps if she got close enough and was able to lop off his head...

She glanced around at her surroundings. No, she had to get him away from the nearby surroundings to a more open area. She backed away, but only enough to avoid suspicion. There were just too many people around...

Then she saw it. A stadium which appeared to be completely empty. She made her way inside, hoping she was still being followed. The open field gave her enough room to move around. Now she had to keep him busy.

She attacked again, trying to keep him off balance. She just had to buy enough time...

That’s when she heard it. A small beep. The communicator in her beep made one single beep, but it was all she needed to hear. She then turned to the man and smiled. “I apologize, I know I said you’d die tonight but I’m afraid it won’t be from me...”

A loud rumbling soon came as a lone V-Wing, almost invisible to the night sky, came screaming out of the sky towards the stadium. Raphtalia had already moved as the ship launched two missiles at the man, causing the area around him to explode into fire and dirt.

Raphtalia had been able to get out of the blast zone but only barely. The wound on her arm hurt almost worse as her arm became numb from the blood loss. It was then that another ship came into the stadium, this one much larger. She looked to where the man once stood. No one was there and she hoped it stayed that way.

The landing ramp descended as the ship floated a few feet above the ground. Lysithea was standing there and she reached out her hand for Raphtalia’s as she helped her on board. The ramp soon lifted and the ship took off.

As the two women made their way towards the bridge, Lysithea glanced over at Raphtalia’s wound. “You’re hurt.”

Raphtalia smiled slightly. “It’s nothing worse than I’ve experienced-” She was cut short as she felt Lysithea’s arms around her tight. She was surprised by the sudden gesture but smiled as she hugged her back.

“That was really stupid, you know that?” Lysithea snapped at her. “You had no idea what that thing was capable of!”

“I know...but I did what I had to do,” Raphtalia replies softly. “I did make a promise, didn’t I?”

Lysithea let go as she rubbed her eyes. “Yes, I remember. Anyway, let’s get you cleaned up.”

The door before them opened and an exhausted Wilmhar came through. “Well, this certainly isn’t the night I had imagined,” he said. He then looked to Raphtalia. “You alright, kid?”

“I’m fine, Minister.” Raphtalia then pouted. “But do you really have to keep calling me kid? I’m twenty-two now and-”

“I know, I know,” Wilmhar chuckled. His face then turned serious as he looked to Lysithea. “What now then?”

“Hopefully when this all dies down I’ll be able to send President Thompson an apology and let her know that I’m okay,” Lysithea replied. “But more importantly, Kunkenga has made it very clear how they feel about me. Now it’s time to return the favor. I want a task force deployed ASAP for Earth. It’s time we make them hurt for once.”

Two Hours Later...

Three ships jump out of hyperspace, two Nebula-class Star Destroyers and an Endurance-class carrier. Within a few moments, a squadron of Y-Wings and a squadron of ARC-170s exit the hangar of the Endurance and make their way towards Earth, specifically Kunkenga.

Ariana was unsure what had happened, but she knew that a tragedy had occurred. She heard panicked screaming. The kinds of screams that made your stomach twist. Ariana looked towards the commotion, to see that a man's throat had been sliced by a human-like figure. Though from what Ariana could tell, it didn't look human. Ariana quickly shielded her children from the brutal display, while Damarcus ran to pull the emergency signal switch on the wall.

Amongst the confusion, she could see Chancellor Lysitheia fleeing the room, as her guards restrained the attacker. Ariana took this as her chance to grab her family and bring them towards the nearest exit. All that mattered to her at that moment was their survival.

"Ariana! Take the kids to the limousine! I'll help these people out." Damarcus yelled. Ariana looked at him, frightened beyond all belief. "NO!" She screamed. She couldn't say much more.

"Ariana just listen to me, and go! Keep yourself safe!" Damarcus repeated. He looked at her with a frustrated, yet understanding expression. "I'll be okay." He said. "Just leave!" Ariana did as she was told, taking her children by the hand. "Righteous, Serenity, he's going to be fine," she said. They ran to through the door, followed by a bunch of frightful party guests.

The hotel's emergency was on, and the alarm system had been ringing. The elevators were inactive, meaning the stairs were their only option to get to the ground floor, safe and sound. Righteous and Serenity were in tears, full of even less understanding of the circumstances than their mother. But Ariana was piecing together what was happening as she made her way through the limousine. It was an attack. An attack most likely on Chancellor Lysitheia, orchestrated by Kunkenga. It had to be, especially considering the assassin had only gone after her personnel, with the exception of the innocent stranger.

As they reached the ground floor, Palmetto City SWAT members had stormed the building, charging past the presidential family and up the stairs. The next half hour to Ariana was a blur. As presidential guards grabbed her arm, along with her family, and pulled them through the crowd, and out a side exit where their ride awaited.

As the limousine drove away, Ariana could see helicopters and starships surrounding the area, most likely from the Cusabo provincial guard, and the Palmetto City SWAT team. She had no idea where her husband was; he wouldn't even answer the phone calls she tried. Her sight was blinded by tears and nausea, but despite this, she caught the glimpse of a bright flash of light and smoke just above the Palmetto City Collesium, followed by a loud thundering noise. Right above them passed an unfamiliar starship, that exited the atmosphere as quickly as it came in.

Ariana couldn't take any more of the situation. She closed her eyes, laying down on the back seat. One of the presidential guards came to her aid, taking the first aid kit in the car, and using an instant ice-pack to cool her down.

Back at the hotel.

Damarcus darted down the stairs. The fireworks had long been stopped the moment the Cusabo Provincial guard arrived outside. Damarcus was being escorted by a SWAT member, who had left the rest of his squad to guide the First Man to safety.

Damarcus had witnessed the assassin single-handedly take out almost all the guards. In no way was it human; its movements were too quick and precise. It had even stabbed a guard in the shoulder, but evidently it wasn't fatal. The guard had taken one look outside the glass dome of the building and quickly darted towards the staircase, the assassin following after her. It was at that moment that the PC SWAT team had entered the room. After searching the perimeter, they decided to follow the two unknown people, while one member escorted the President's husband to safety.

He was quickly brought to an ambulance. The confusion was so great, he didn't realize his phone had been ringing as his beloved wife called desperately tried to call him. But fortunately, he was brought to a presidential guard, who would continue to guide Damarcus to safety.

As they drove back to his family's location, he saw an explosion of sorts over the Palmetto City Coliseum. That's where the beloved Palmetto City Patriots played; the city's baseball team. Immediately afterward, Damarcus saw what appeared to two starships, a smaller one that had promptly left the stadium, and a larger one, that landed within the stadium.

"Jesus Christ." a presidential aid said. "What the hell is happening tonight?" Damarcus could only stare out the window. "I'm not even sure anymore," he replied blankly.

He pulled out his phone and saw Ariana's phone calls. He was relieved she was safe, but she must've been worried sick. He gave her a callback, to the presidential aid that answered, that he was safe.

PALMETTO CITY COLISEUM

The SWAT Team and the Palmetto Provincial guard had gotten quick intel that the two people of interest had made their way to the Palmetto City Coliseum. The wide-open area would ensure great aim on the target.

One person of interest was identified to be a Venutian Guard who had attended the party with the Chancellor of Ventus Prime. She was not to be harmed.

Only about three minutes after their arrival at the stadium, two unknown starships had entered Carolinian airspace, according to the Palmetto City International Airport's ATC. They had been given the clearance to enter due to an emergency situation response. As Carolinian starships and helicopters closed in on the Stadium and explosion had occurred in the center of the stadium. A Venutian V-Wing had launched two missiles at the assassin, with the guard coming out relatively unscathed. The SWAT was given clearance to enter the stadium, and the crater to ensure the assassin had perished in the explosion. It was clear that it was inhuman, so it's durability was unknown.

A Lancer Y-2, loaded with a Gatling gun, got close to the crater that had been formed. The Venutian guard moved away from the crater, giving a clear shot.

"Cusabo Provincial 23, locked and loaded on target. Initiating primary Gatling gun to ensure the extermination of the target."

At that moment, the gun fired a barrage of bullets into the crater for around 15 seconds. Not much could be seen coming out of the crater, besides dirt and a few chunks of metal. By the time the gun had stopped, all that was left were pieces of metal and black oil. The assassin was no more.

Police would soon fill the stadium, interrogating the Venutian guard, and the crew of the starship that had landed shortly after. She was identified as Raphtalia, who had served as a guard for the Chancellor for a number of years. However, she stated she was unaware of Chancellor Lysithea's whereabouts, but ensured that she was safe and sound and that nobody else had been injured.

Given the circumstances, the police couldn't have held on to the Venutians for much longer. The ships were given the clearance to leave the atmosphere, promising to not return to Carolinian airspace until the war between Ventus Prime and Kunkenga had ended.

Shortly after, a transmission would be sent to President Thompson, whenever she wished to open it. When she did, she’d find a holo-recording of Chancellor Snow herself.

“President Thompson, by the time you receive this, I will be long gone and most likely back on my own planet. I wanted to apologize for two things. One, the reason for the attack tonight was to kill me. Perhaps if I had not shown, the attack may not have happened. Second, I apologize for what happened at your stadium. I realize I was acting in Carolinian airspace and I will take full responsibility for what happened, though I wanted to take care of the fiend myself. With that, I will pay for whatever damages have occurred.”

She paused for a moment and looked to the side. “There is one other thing...I realized that Kunkenga will not stop until either they see me dead or my nation burned to the ground. That is why I’m making the next move. I know people won’t think kindly of me for this but I hope at least you can understand.

I don’t want to end this on a sad note so I will say you throw an excellent party. I’m the foreseeable future if any future events occur I’m afraid I’ll have to send either my Foreign Affairs Minister or my Vice Chancellor. Until then, I hope everyone is safe.” She took a slight bow before the transmission ended.

The Systems Alliance of Ventus Prime

It’s that time again folks.

Ventura, Kapteyn System - 2139

The Tenth Fleet was currently stationed outside Ventura’s orbit. Ventura was located in the middle of the system, making it a crucial planet to keep hold of in the war.

It had been a year since Raphtalia had been liberated from her captors and since then she had been reading, writing, and learning how the Nebula she was standing in operates. Fortunately, she was a quick study.

Now, as she was walking down the hall in her naval uniform, it almost felt as if her childhood was finally left behind her. Of course, before she could truly be assigned a role she would have to attend the Naval Academy on one of the Republic worlds but for now she was an apprentice to one of the crewmen who she had a feeling was slightly infatuated with her.

Suddenly, an alarm rang throughout the ship. “We are under attack! All crew to their stations! All pilots report to the hangar area!”

The CIC was attacking now? The planet had its strategic advantages but at this point it would be almost impossible to take back. The Confederacy was obviously getting desperate. But Raphtalia had no idea what was about to come next.

The ship suddenly lurched as it’s systems suddenly shut down, pitching the entire ship into darkness before emergency power turned itself on. Were they just hit with an ion cannon?

Raphtalia had no station to go to but she knew engineering would need all the help they could get. However, the sudden explosion next to her would send her flying as her head hit against the wall, knocking her out.

- - -

When Raphtalia came to, she was lying on a bed in what appeared to be the hospital wing. She heard the door near her open as someone walked in. “Oh good you’re awake.”

Raphtalia looked over, seeing a girl with snow white hair wearing a pilot’s uniform. “You’re...Captain Snow?”

“That’s right, though Lysithea is fine,” Snow replied as she helped her up. “How are you feeling?”

“My head is killing me but I’m okay. How long was I out?”

“Not long, I found you in the hallway and carried you back here.”

“Wait, the attack...what happened?”

“An enemy fleet ambushed us and they had a ship we haven’t seen before, a big one at that. It used some sort of large ion blast to knock out the entire fleet. Most of the crew escaped but some of the escape pods malfunctioned due to the attack. As far as I know, we’re the only ones left.”

“Wait... so you stayed behind to help me?”

“You’re part of this ship too, so why wouldn’t I? Besides, you wouldn’t be much help unconscious l,” she smirked.

Raphtalia felt herself blush. “Oh um...I guess I never did introduce myself. I’m Raphtalia.”

“A pleasure to meet you,” Lysithea said as the two shook hands. “Now we need to get out of here. We may not have an escape pod but we can always fly, so we need to head to the hangar.”

The two made their way towards the hangar, though something was still bothering Raphtalia. “If we were attacked, why hasn’t this ship been destroyed?”

“No idea, either we’re not worth wasting a few turbolaser salvos or they want to take it and salvage it. And we can’t have that.”

They finally made it to the hangar. “You have any flight training?” Lysithea asked.

“I haven’t...”

“Well that narrows it down,” Lysithea replied as she headed over to an ARC-170. “Never actually flew one of these but I like to think it’s the Z-95’s big brother. I’ll need you to take the rear gunner seat. Can you handle it?”

“Yeah, I know the layout pretty much.”

Lysithea had to find and reboot an Astromech droid before it went into its socket on the ship. “The doors have been closed so we’ll just have to punch through,” she said as she tossed Lysithea a helmet.

Raphtalia strapped into her seat as Lysithea checked all systems as the ship started warming up. “Are you ready?”

“They’ll be on us as soon as we get out, huh?”

“Yeah, which is why I’m gonna need you.”

The engines came to life as the ship lifted up. Lysithea then aimed for the door and fired as two lasers punched a hole through the hangar doors, causing the suction of space to start pulling the other ships forward. “Here we go!” Lysithea punched it and the ship shot straight out of the hangar, faster than she imagined. “Wow this ship is faster than I expected!”

Through the cockpit, Lysithea could see the remains of the Tenth Fleet, as well as the CIC ships nearby. “Look at the size of that thing...” she murmured. The ship in question was bigger than most CIC craft, and the ion cannon emplacement was hard to miss.

Right now, all she had to do was jump to lightspeed and put this all behind them. But as she looked towards the large dreadnought, her mind was made up as she launched towards the fleet.

Raphtalia had a feeling where they were going as the Republic fleet moved away from their position. “What are you doing!? We can’t take on a whole fleet by ourselves!”

“I’m not taking on the entire fleet, I’m going after that ion cannon,” Lysithea said. “That ship took out an entire fleet and if we don’t take it out, we could lose this war and then what?” Raphtalia was silent and Lysithea wondered if she went too far. “I’m sorry, I-!”

“No, you’re right, but now’s not the time to talk, I’m counting three bogeys on our tail.”

“Got it, I’ll keep an eye on their cannons.”

Droid starfighters were coming up behind them but Raphtalia was ready. She used the ship’s targeting computer and lined up her shot before opening fire. The cannons shot at a fast pace and she managed to clip one of the ship’s wings before it crashed into the other. “I got one!”

“Great! Don’t get cocky!” Lysithea’s handling of the ship was almost unreal, she was able to duck and weave while doing some damage of her own. “Coming up on the ion cannon...” There was no clear weak spot but she knew attacking the edges could do enough damage. She lined up her shot and launched two proton torpedoes at the far side of the circular disk. The torpedoes landed and a number of explosions erupted around the edge of the disk.

“Ion cannon disabled!”

“Great, now can we please get out of here?”

The fleet was converging on them but that still didn’t deter Lysithea. “We just need to give ourselves some distance and-” She stopped as she picked up something on radar. “Ships coming in...Republic transmission.”

Five ships suddenly appeared near the planet, one that caught Lysithea completely off guard.
“That’s a Praetor-class,” she said softly. “Could that be...?” She opened up a frequency. “Republic ships, this is Captain Snow of the Tenth Fleet, do you read me?”

It wasn’t long before there was a response. “This is Admiral Pellaeon of the First Fleet. Captain, we’re responding to a distress signal that was transmitted. I see the enemy caught you by surprise.”

“Yes sir, but we managed to take out the enemy’s ion cannon. I think you can take care of the rest.”

“Understood Captain, feel free to dock inside our hangar. We’ll handle this.”

- - -

After the ship landed inside the Praetor’s hangar, the two girls came out and Lysithea suddenly hugged the other. “That was amazing!” Lysithea squealed happily. “You know, you might not make a bad pilot in a few years.”

“Oh, well, I’m not really sure what I want to do yet.” She paused for a moment. “But listen, I just wanted to say...thank you. For rescuing me back there.”

“Come on, I only did what had to be done.”

“I mean it. And that’s why...I owe you a life debt now.”

“A... life debt?”

“On my world, if someone were to come to another person’s aid, that person would swear to be by their side for the rest of their life, hence a life debt. From now on, I swear to be by your side and to protect you.”

“Wait a minute, this is happening too fast!” Lysithea said, her turn to blush. “You can’t be serious.”

“I am, and even if you say no, I’d still feel obligated to serve you.”

“Look...let’s put it a different way. How about from now on we’ll be the best of friends and we’ll always have each other’s backs?”

Raphtalia thought for a moment before smiling. “Alright. Best friends forever?”

“Best friends forever.”

A ship's engine blows up somewhere on the surface of a distant planet.

Unexpected. Though prepared.

Kiyomi and the Section 9 Agent were sitting down rather surprised that the party had shifted to the talks of Kunkenga's foreign aggression to war plans and then eventually to New Years. Though due to time differences between Japan and the East Coast of America. Japan has celebrated New Years 13 hours ahead. Basically meaning 13 hours later she had been celebrating Oshogatsu. As New Years was announced the Empress would smirk leaning over her chair and stretching herself. She felt exhausted even though she had slept in the airplane.

The Section 9 Agent watched their surroundings and observing people passing by and gathering information. However her attention focuses to the Empress.

Kiyomi: "What are the odds of meeting a new leader here?"

Phantom Fox: "If you want my inquiry, I would say slim, who do you think will take interest in a deteriorating Japan?" she asked in sarcasm.

Kiyomi: "I guess that's true," she answers.

Phantom Fox: "Huh? You're taking my word for it?" I was only just using sarcasm, cheer up your Majesty, it's not like everything will go smoothly in the world. Nor can you expect anyone to talk to you. After all there are more democratic institutions than Monarchial Regimes."

Kiyomi: "You are right on that note," she says with a sigh, "I guess they are all jealous, I don't have to go through bureaucratic nonsense to change society. People are united under my benevolent rule and it is my sole job to guide the country towards the righteous and best path. Different and opposing views? Those halt certain reforms that is needs mending."

Phantom Fox: "Yet the people of Japan stand divided in race, humans against Kemonomimi's. Kemonomimi's against humans. The Yamato and minority groups of Japan think your family and your people stole their land. Kemonomimi's think that what humans have done don't add up to the centuries of suppression and slavery they have faced. Not to mention a few of your kind dislikes how your family fled at the time the Kingdom had fallen apart," she replied crossing her arms, Kiyomi disrelish the fact that her family fled, current problems in Japan had traces back to the past and people still are not contempt in the Monarchy.

Kiyomi: "Are you my advisor on how I run my government?"

Phantom Fox: "Well I wouldn't exactly call it advising you, I simply just gave you details on current affairs found on wiki or news outlets. You should go open the news more often,"

Kiyomi: "ugh, you know I disdain the news. It is their 24/7 job to report something and even the smallest of events they make it such a big and dramatic event."

Phantom Fox: "Still as a leader at least you should have some consideration to the current affairs of your nation and how your people are doing. At least when your older you can look admirable looking down upon a papers wearing your spectacles and crossing your legs on a comfy couch. Perhaps by the side of the fire?"

Kiyomi: "Now your giving tips on how I should dress!?" she said, suddenly they heard a cry and many people running about screaming in horror, "What on Terra?"

Phantom Fox: "We should leave."

Kiyomi: "Perhaps it could be a fireworks accident or maybe an event happened in another room, people are pretty sloppy these days with technology so advanced as my mother said,"

Phantom Fox: "That's a bit rude to say to a Cyborg, though look!" she said as they saw a strange humanoid figure with a metallic skin color, Ventuan's firing their blasters at it, Kiyomi held the palm of her hands to her foxy ears not being used to the sound of a guns, without a word Phantom Fox grabbed her arm and pulled her to the nearest exit and called the limousine to meet beside the hotel. By the time they reached outside with many people running out of the hotel.

Kiyomi: "What on Earth was that thing!?" Kiyomi said rather terrified.

Phantom Fox: "Do pardon me your Majesty but if I may inquire that you do know I am not a walking Wikipedia?" she said as they still ran with Phantom Fox still leading Kiyomi out of the area. The Japanese limousine was parked around the hotel. Phantom Fox opened the door and Kiyomi sat inside it. She then closed the door of the limousine though not getting inside. Kiyomi was confused with the matter and she rolled down the window.

Kiyomi: "What are you trying to do?"

Phantom Fox: "Have a bit of fun, it is not often you see an alien creature from some distant stars arrive to a New Years Party killing anyone that gets in the way of its target." she responds.

Kiyomi: "What!?" she said, as the driver of the limousine rolled back the windows. Phantom Fox then walked up to the driver who was sitting in the limousine, the driver then rolled the windows back down on his side.

Phantom Fox: "So what did Section 9 brought for me," she asked.

Driver: "It's in the trunk, there should be 3 mags for an MSR-3 Barrage, I'm sure you know what that is, handheld Metal storm system. Also a visor to see in the dark, infrared and targeting systems, as well as the P-2110 S with about 4 mags for that. Oh did I also mention I'm the body bag there should be an exo-suit for you? All made by your trusted BlackSteel WorldWide arms selling corporation," he said.

Phantom Fox: "Good enough, what about you?" she asked and the Driver took out a 20th century revolver, Phantom Fox sighed and she shook her head, "I hope you know the life of the Empress is on your hands now, and I hope that revolver of yours is good enough for aliens,"

Driver: "Haha no worries, this babe-- wait did you just say aliens?"

Phantom Fox: "Right, I'm bored, open the trunk, and make sure to come back with a bike for me, okay, thanks," she said as she left and waved back at the driver, the driver opened the locks to the trunk and as it opened it revealed the aforementioned items stated by him, she took and equipped it though as she went back to the driver and handed him the mags of the pistol and the P-2110 S itself, "I'm not trustworthy of your out dated weaponry so take this for safekeepings, I'm sure those 7mm liquid propellant will do good on armored vehicles," she said.

Driver: "Wow okay, thanks for that, it's not like I brought 60 bullets for my revolver." he said as he took the pistol and its magazines and left it on the seat next to him, he then rolled the windows of the drivers seat and slowly took the limousine out of the area. Meanwhile as a lone wolf of the National Public Safety Commission of Japan, she proceeded her own investigations of this unknown entity. If her recon went as expected she would return back to the airport on her motorcycle and go back to Japan with information upon the incident. Whatever else happens that may draw her back may happen.

Aftermath

After the attack happened Kiyomi made a voicemail to the President of NUC.

Kiyomi: "Greetings President Ariana, I hope you and your family are in good health after tonight. It is rather unfortunate that the world couldn't have came together during such a peaceful event to celebrate a new year of, let's say Earth still being habitable and a year where the children of Terra can begin a new chapter of scientific advancements and understanding of the universe. This inhuman event where people were killed in the crossfire will go down in history as starting a galactic war, I'm sure you are aware of that. I didn't wish for that to happen and at least have that New Years Eve to be the start of a new chapter of Japan's diplomatic relations. Understandably I'm sure you won't be accepting towards my leadership."

"A 17 year old nonhuman sitting on the throne making decisions on how the country should be led instead of having the people's opinion. Not to mention she is praised by many of her people and is seen as a deity to them alongside the Yamato family. My nation may have no democratic institutions and is an absolute monarchy, with a bit of powers to the ministers and prefecture governments and city governments. That aside, I Hope ideology doesn't become an issue when creating diplomatic ties to both our nations, I wish you and your family well," she says, she then hangs up and awaits for a call, going back to her studies.

On the way back to Szel, Lysithea was sitting in her room, absorbing everything that had happened when she suddenly heard a scream outside. “Raphtalia!?” Lysithea suddenly got up and went to the door. She saw Raphtalia standing outside her room, looking panicked. “What’s wrong!?”

“We forgot about Kiyomi!”

“...What?”

“We took off and left her there without saying goodbye!”

Lysithea facepalmed. “Raph, I’m sure she’s fine, I don’t think anyone was after her and even if they were, did you not notice the bodyguard with her?”

“Well, I did, though to be honest something seemed...off about her. She was difficult to read.”

“Pretty sure that’s a good thing for a bodyguard.”

“Maybe I’m just overthinking it. That being said...I really want to check up on her!” The look in her eyes would’ve broken even the strongest of wills and unfortunately Lysithea couldn’t resist either.

“Alright, alright go ahead. I mean you can speak freely to any leader now that you’re Vice Chancellor.”

Raphtalia blushed as she rubbed the back of her head. “Y-Yeah...I’m still adjusting to all this...”

Dear Kiyomi,

As I write this, I feel terrible I didn’t get ahold of you sooner. I hope you’re okay and I hope you can understand why we had to leave like we did. Don’t worry though, we’re okay, though I did get wounded by that...thing. Just a flesh wound though!

I have to be honest, this whole thing seems rather terrifying. I know being a leader has many risks, but to just kill someone in cold blood... I also feel a horrible amount of guilt. Six people died, five of them brave soldiers who’d give their life to defend Lysithea. If I had acted sooner, maybe they would still be alive...

I’m sorry, I shouldn’t be acting all mopey and sad, I’m just happy you’re safe. Unfortunately, Lysithea probably won’t be making any future trips anywhere so I’d be going in her stead. If you’re ever in the mood to chat and have some tea, please let me know!

ShangXiang Imperial Palace
40 mins after the attack in NUC

Hiei clicked about in her strappy high heels. Reading her various reports from the days events in the world. She rolled her eyes at the report from the New Years Event. While annoyed at the fact that something so barbaric could happen at an event of genuine kindness and celebration, she was also equally pleased that she had successfully protected her ruling Monarchs from this vile act. She walked purposefully down the long eloquent hallways of the Imperial Palace, and arrived at the door of Emperor Erwin Zenzefer III's Study room, where he had been doing his paperwork, as well as the general legislation, and the polls from his people regarding current issues that were important to them.

Hiei knocked on the door. "Come" said a voice from behind the door. Hiei opened the door, bowing reverently before entering. Erwin was signing papers with Momo close beside him, as always. She simply refused to be away from her husband, and her love for her husband ran as deep as her love for her home country of Japan, and the bond equally inseparable. "Princess Hiei, come my sweetheart." Said Momo looking up. Hiei shut the door quietly behind her. She banged her heels together and bowed again. "Empress Kawashima, Emperor Zenzefer III, i come with news from the New united carolinas." She said, rising from her bow.

"Oh Hiei, you and your formalities. You know, you don't always have to be so formal. Relax a little bit will you sweetie? Mother and Father is also fine, we didn't adopt you for you to be so formal about it." Momo said. Erwin was notably silent. Signing papers and writing personal letters to citizens wasn't an issue, more like he was quite bad at speaking to others. He hated speaking, he found the tradition of public speaking to be boring, and incredibly contradictory. He didn't like speaking in general. He enjoyed the peace and quiet, sure. However, the dulcet tones of his wife's voice were music to his ears. He did enjoy speaking to his family, even if he was rather bad at it.

Hiei bowed again. She pushed her lustrous ruby red glasses up her nose. "I understand. This is quite true. Ehm, Mother, Father, news from the New United Carolinas. A murder was attempted by an agent of Kunkenga on the Chancellor of Ventus Prime, whom we have recently become economic allies with. Notably, as well, Celestial Empress Kiyomi I of The sakura nippon was in attendance, and while thankfully safe, was in harms way at the moment of the attempted assassination." Hiei said. Erwin violently banged his fist on the desk. "Dirty communist barbarians!" he shouted. Momo jumped. "Adi...p-please calm down." She said in a fearful tone. Erwin gently embraced Momo, remembering he wasn't the only person in the room. He kissed her gently on the top of her head. "Im ok angel." He replied softly.

"Hiei, I am indebted to you. It is because of your advice and your wise council that I did not have to suffer the traumas of that event. You are a shining example of how effective advisors are when a leader puts their trust in the wisdom of those trained to do your work. I'm beginning to wonder if you are a fortune teller. I am aware that is impossible, but you couldn't have predicted this as accurate as you have without some sort of 6th sense." Erwin said.

Hiei bowed again. "I am here to serve. For the health and welfare of my Monarchs, my parents, and my nation." She replied. "Emperor, Empress, what do you plan to do about this? Surely there are some thoughts and some ideas that you must have." She asked. "Glass them. Every square kilometer of their nation....glass" Erwin said. "Adi please." Momo said. "I know girly girl. Lets just continue the seraph fighter supply to Ventus. Ill prepare a letter or parchment of sorts for the Celestial Empress. I think it is wise to offer the confines of High Charity II to our allies." He said

"Im glad to know we aren't the only ones. I might have felt a bit out of the ordinary if ours was the only country. That would be awfully dreadful" She added.

Momo giggled adorably. "Well my shoes are much more comfy than yours." She said, pressing her toes in her flats. "Though I wouldn't know, I haven't really worn geta much. Though if you wish to try mine you can. A-a-anyway I do understand your point.

upon arriving Momo was in awe. "My word. I have never seen the Palace in person, ive only ever rode past it. Am I even allowed to wear shoes on this sacred ground?" She said trailing off

Kiyomi: "Well you are allowed to wear shoes outside the palace and inside the palace, really there had been a few times Western political leaders visited this place and wore their shoes inside the palace as well as a few of the Imperial Palaces being used for tourism. However I treat my palaces as my home, this is where I was born and where many of my ancestors or Emperors and Empresses came from." she replied as she walked towards the entrance of the Palace, the two guards who guarded the door opened it the Palace doors as they walked, "Our nation has been in isolationism after the 2nd Russo-Japanese War. My Grandmother being Imperial Empress Shizuka I thought that if Japan went into isolationism like during 1639 to 1853, she thought that she can have Japan prosper again in population and economic growth. Population did grow but unfortunately this took up more agricultural land and the economy didn't grow. She simply didn't know that in order to prosper in this timeline. A nation would have to become globalized. Japan is far from being globalized. Still we have many nations to make contact with and many draconian laws to change that has crippled the nation's safety and welfare of its people. Thanks to the Regents 'democratic' government which was funded by Zaibatsu's. However I had the backing of the Imperial Army, Navy and Air Service which had led a coup to establish a military rule, then another coup to establish me as an Absolute Monarch," she explains.

Kiyomi: "People have high hopes for me, if I disappoint them I may risk being overthrown, hence why they call this Era 'The Kiyomi Restoration'. Restoring Beauty to Japan and bringing peace after centuries of turmoil. Hard to do so without the help of the Ministers and other educated people, she says, she then enters the Palace and takes her geta off, she then also takes off her socks revealing her feet that seemed to have shined like a pearl upon the suns reflection, as she brushed her hair off her shoulder, "Aha perhaps I could try one of your shoes when I'm in a more formal attire? This is more of my traditional outfit, I always wear it for diplomatic purposes, not to force my culture upon people but it is more for beauty and traditional purposes and I hope people are to appreciate that I carry on the tradition of an Empress wearing traditional clothing," she replied. She then walked on further and walked towards the living room of the Palace. When they entered it seemed to have a mixture of modern equipment and traditional furniture. A flatscreen TV hooked onto the wall and there was a Kotatsu facing it.

Kiyomi: "So what exactly made your nation go into isolationism, or has it always been isolated from the world?" she asked curiously with her foxy tail wagging gently left to right.

Though regarding your technology, perhaps some of our best minds could help with that?” Lysithea had the cup of tea to her mouth but the smile behind it was obvious.

Kiyomi: "Well let's say you wanted to buy a $2 Caribbean Dollar soda pop in Japan. That would be ¥200 Japanese Yen. Unsure what it would be in Credits but that's rather cheap for a space ship?" Kiyomi said rather confused, "Not too many space ships cost below a million Caribbean Dollars and I am afraid it could lead to your industry having to need more money to get and make the materials for the ship. Though I'll see to it that we purchase a few of your ships,"

Kiyomi: "With the technology and Space Craft development I mean you have to talk to the CEO of Tenko Corporations, it is a Private Industry, I don't know if I should actually call it private now since I'm also a shareholder of the corporation. If it does something I don't like I'll reduce the value of the stocks which they don't want me doing. I can put in a good word for your scientists if needed be, however it's not really the problems with manpower but more to do with funding. My government can't funnel in 400-900 Billion Dollars in R&D to complete the Space Crafts. It would take around 2-3 years to get that sort of money in Japan with the GDP estimated to rise after this year because of the ending of Japanese Isolationism," she replied using her hands to gesture as she was talking and then brought them together on her lap.

“Oh don’t worry Kiyomi,” Raphtalia said. “Nubila actually shares a lot in common with Earth. As for the diseases and creatures, those are only found in the rainforests. As far as traveling, it’s really not that bad, it feels like an average flight in half the time.”

“Let’s not overwhelm her, Raph,” Lysithea said as she escorted them on board. One of the ship’s crew offered to take Kiyomi’s belongings. “This will be a short flight but for now you can stay in Raphtalia’s room. It’s not big but but you’ll both be able to fit.”

“And since you’re our guest of honor, I would be happy to fill you in on Kapteynian culture,” Raphtalia said with a big grin on her face. It wouldn’t be long before the ship began to take off and leave Earth’s atmosphere.

Your friend,
Raphtalia

Kiyomi has been stuck in her Imperial Palace for sometime, after the incident. The National Public Safety Commission has decided to ramp up security around the Palace for a few months or weeks. The fact that an alien had the ability to take on other identities was a scary thought for Kiyomi. A few nights she would be thrown back to the scene where she had seen the aliens killing, stabbing and hacking innocent people. And sometimes she can see herself being a victim to the monster. Until waking up at 2 AM with her heart beating faster than the normal rate, she had calmed herself down during these nights by making trips to the shrines in the gardens of the Kyoto Palace where she would give her offerings and prayers to the Kami of the Shrine.

Kiyomi hadn't had experienced any actual combat. Even though she was in the Imperial Japanese Army. She had only learned discipline, shooting weapons, and other protocols. Japan has never been at war during its isolationism. So for now she has rejected taking medicates to help her feel happy and decided to seek spiritual help or healing. Any alternative cares for herself.

This evening she received word from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and she handed a letter to her which read the following contents written by Vice Chancellor Raphtalia. Raphtalia was at the party, she has remembered, she had got to be at the party after all she was the Vice Chancellor and Chancellors Lysithea's bodyguard. Kiyomi would hate to see her killed or hurt by that thing on New Years Eve. Raphtalia was interesting, interesting in the fact that she was Kemonomimi however being elsewhere in the Galaxy. Though she had also grown up alongside with a family who wasn't genetically related to her. It was sort of like Kiyomi's situation.

Kiyomi being born, her mother was strapped into the bed after a car accident and she had ever since been dying in that bed. Kiyomi left the bed there but she has always kept that room locked, only entering it to have reminisce the past and her mother's face. Her ruby eyes and her soft toned face. Her facial features sharp and her silk charcoal hair that ran down like a river stream, it had all been taken away from her! She didn't want to end up like her mother, strapped, nowhere to go, unable to talk, with your dependency on machines you don't know, you don't understand, nor know how they work, but yet keep you alive, alive to suffer until they can no longer support you. People in coats coming in and out just to monitor you, sure they bow but they can't accompany you for short talks. No one spoke a word to her. Not even father who was too embarrassed to see his wife. Ashamed he couldn't protect her, sends her daughter to the Military Academy as he couldn't handle to rule a country and passes away because he had been unable to take the stress.

I had a new parent and that was sensei Horikiri Reiko. She had been my caretaker and while she maybe rough she had a sweet personality and would protect me from anything as if I were her cub. However, I wished my mother didn't venture around Japan trying to fix problems when she could've send her personnel to do it, I had done what my mother did, I stepped out of the Palace and almost lost my life, just like my mother, just like my mother, just li--

Servant: "Your Majesty, Kiyomi! Satsuki Kitsune!" she would hear as she spoke to herself in her head she regained herself back and she dropped a katana that she got from somewhere. She stepped back in fear of herself, has she gone mad!? The lights would go dim and slowly her world became black as she fell to the ground.

Regaining herself she woke up on her bed with doctors around her, a breathing mask was put around her while she was unconscious to help supply her oxygen directly.

Doctor: "Ah your Majesty, you are awake finally," the doctor says as he writes a few notes down on a piece of paper on his clipboard.

Kiyomi: "How long was I out?" she asked still rather dazed out after waking up from her slumber.

Doctor: "For quite sometime, about a good 14 hours? It's 3 in the morning and the other doctor left at 12AM so I came to fill in for her."

Kiyomi: "Why is this happening to me, I feel rather ill after the event."

Doctor: "My best conclusion is that you're suffering from Post traumatic stress disorder,"

Kiyomi: "Pfft, I am not, I am clearly fine Doctor,"

Doctor: "Oh really?" the Doctor says as he looks over his spectacles and stars down at Kiyomi with skepticism, "Your Majesty, when is the last time you had a nightmare on the event,"

Kiyomi: "Yesterday I believe,"

Doctor: "Right and have you ever tried to hurt or take your own life away,"

Kiyomi: "Never on Earth,"

Doctor: "Oh really? One of your servants said she saw you holding your ancestors katana and you were about to take your own life with it until she called out your name," he said, Kiyomi fell silent, her fox ears tilted downwards and she was rather in disbelief of her actions, "Look Your Majesty, you have got to take your medications, it will at least reduce your anxiety and depression. I also recommend you see a therapist to help you reduce the stress of the awful event and hopefully improve your sleep. Though I urge you your Majesty that you must take the medication, there are really no ways out of this and people are looking up to you, Japan is looking up to you, we will take care of you, and you will take care of us," he replied.

Doctor: "Now please get some rest, the phone is nearby if you need it to call someone," the doctor said as he left the bedroom. Kiyomi would wait a few seconds and ring the Minister of Foreign Affairs and tells her to draft a letter to Raphtalia, the Minister would get a letter and a pen and bring it to the bedroom of the Empress, the Empress would then tell her what to write as she told her.

Dear Raphtalia,

It is great to hear from you! Especially after the New Years Party which didn't go as I thought it would. I'm rather sorry to hear that the alien thing hurt you and I hope that wound gets treated. ThoughI understand why you had to leave in such a hurry as so did I.

I had hoped people from Earth or elsewhere would at least show a bit of kindness to sentient beings but it turns out some are rather cruel, wicked, and want to watch the world burn and bleed upon their daggers. You shouldn't feel guilty for something that can't be changed because of your reaction. Whatever is done is done. We must face the future and honor those who have protected us when they have sacrificed themselves to buy us time to prepare and attack. Their brave acts shall not be forgotten I hope.

I have been doing fine physically. The event had rather shocked me in a way I feel that I don't know who people are anymore. The sight of innocents dying has really changed how I view the worlds morality. I understand that you or the Chancellor shall not be making anymore visits to Terra until your business with your rivals are finished. I will make sure to contact you in the case we would wish to have you or me over for some tea. It is a pleasure writing to you my best friend. I wish you best as Vice Chancellor on your war efforts.

Warmest Regards,
Kiyomi I Kitsune.

"I understand, which is interesting, since I'm not of Western birth Celestial Empress. I remember living under your mother Celestial Empress Ayumi I. I'm excited and pleased at what you are doing and have done for our homeland. In fact, we too are a Monarchy, that is mostly absolute, but we have a certain way of running our nation that seems to please the people rather well. If I may Celestial Empress, as a girl who lived under the same laws that you claim to be so draconian, i had never been a happier, more prosperous girl ever. Marrying my Adi is the only thing that possibly could best it. I have the deepest respect for you, the Katsune Imperial Family, and the nation of Japan." Momo politely bowed and then walked close to Kiyomi. Making sure to remain a respectful distance away however, so as not to insult her Imperial Majesty. "As for your agriculture, we have found that our nation produces vast amounts of grains and produce. So much so, that we have been sending the excess to High Charity II to be sold, which is somewhat contradictory since the city is self sufficient. Perhaps you might be interested in some of it for your own people. We would be honoured to assist you in any way we can. A gift from our people to yours."

"I too have high hopes for you. I am sure that like your mother, you will be more than capable of carrying out your duty as the leader of our nation. Personally I couldn't be more pleased with how you are taking this. That being, how prepared you seem to be and how seamless your transition has been." Momo bowed before entering the palace, sliding her flats off, revealing her feet, which were as close to perfect as was biologically possible. Her bright pink toenail polish lustered and shone beautifully. "Oh im not worried in the slightest. youre free to try them whenever you want. I actually brought along my yukata as a change of clothing. You are hardly pushing your own culture in your own nation." Momo replied smiling.

"We went into isolation the moment we founded. The first Emperor, Wilhelm I, didn't like outsiders. We then had a 7 year civil war in 2081. We call this "The Great Struggle." and it put Erwin's family into power. Erwin I was an influential General Prefect and was quite popular with the people. In fact, he moved the capitol to what is now ShangXiang. After that, isolationism remained, because Erwin didn't want a distraction of other nation's affairs while we rebuilt the nation. Erwin II, my dear Adi's father, was a bit mad in the head, and didn't care much for outsiders either. So yes, it took my husband to bring this nation out of isolationism and try to make some friends." Momo finished, smiling at her Empress.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DESCRIPTION: BEING-1125X is a 9'10" humanoid with pale skin and pure white eyes. 1125X has so far eluded capture and is to be considered extremely dangerous. Currently the Pretannian Government has ordered the lock down of the Provinces of [REDACTED] to combat this threat. This being is to be designated UAB-003 upon capture and will be referred to as such throughout this document. It is currently believed that there is only one of these beings in existence, with no evidence of others in the general vicinity or on global scanners. It can be noted that this creature is balded across its entire body with no hair being seen or felt by those who got close enough. UAB-003 also has a constant smell of dead decomposing bodies around it and its hands are perpetually covered in a blood red substance, believed to be originated from humans. UAB-003 is considered extremely dangerous ad can in fact kill by making eye contact with its prey, immobilizing it 85% - 90% of the time. UAB-003 has been recorded to travel up to 57 km an hour though it is hypothesized that it can go faster. UAB-003 can sense its prey from an approximate distance of 25 km or less and will travel towards that being as fast as possible whether it be an animal or an intelligent being. The origins of UAB-003 are currently unknown as not enough information has been collected on it to get a complete analysis.

UAB-003 was spotted on September, 9th, 2148 AD by local hikers in Northern Pretannia near the city of [REDACTED]. The AGS has been looking around this region for a creature of similar nature since July 2120 under DIRECTIVE 1548-A after a series of urban legends began to spring up from the area, all siting a pale white creature with white eyes and bloody hands. UAB-003 is to be considered a High Risk Threat to local life whether it be human or not. Currently it is unknown what its total mortality count is though estimates put it between 120 to 514 due to missing person reports and confirmed deaths in the region in question. Current efforts to capture and contain UAB-003 have resulted in the deaths of several members of Task Force Echo-3, Alpha-14, and Centaur-5. The AGS hopes to capture this creature soon for the sake of the organization itself and the people of the region. This is all.

"Command... Command come in..."

"Command Station Alpha-11 Reporting, whats the status on UAB-003?"

"Still no sign of it... currently activating a marking beacon to show location."

"Very well, report back to me when you spotted it. Remember, don't let it see you."

"Understood Sir."

The night sky was truly something beautiful in the mountains of Northern Pretannia, the closest you could really get to the stars themselves without the light from the cities polluting the skies. Commander James Eaton, leader of Mobile Task Force Alpha-11, though was barely even paying attention to it. For him that didn't matter as the wind made the tree branches move around him. He had his hand on his gun as he walked, behind him standing two more armed and armored members of MT-A11.

"Keep an eye out boys. This thing could be kilometers away and still know we're here."

"Understood Eaton, we'll be sure to keep an eye out."

Eaton walked for a little while longer, making sure his footsteps were quiet and light as to not attract any attention, even so though the slight crunch of his foot hitting the ground in the silence of the forests around him still managed to annoy him. All the sudden he heard something rustling in the bushes. He quickly got his gun out and cocked it, the other two with him training their weapons straight at the bush in question.

"What the hell.." Eaton said with a rushed whisper like tone. The seconds passed by as if they we're years before the rustling stopped, all the sudden they we're confronted by a small rabbit hoping along. Eaton put his weapon down and sighed.

"Thank god... I'm gonna rally up the men. It's clearly not here tonight."

The other two nodded as he grabbed his communicator and sent a signal to his men. He knew there we're five teams he had spread out to search the area, though something concerned him. He only got four return signals back.

"Wait... didn't we have five signals.."

"Yes, yes we did...well sh!t."

Eaton thought for just a second, wondering what could've happened, all the sudden though the communicator went off, ruining the silence around them.

"GOD DAMMIT IT'S HERE! IT'S FVCKING HE-CZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"

Eaton shut off the communicator quickly before looking at the two soldiers with him. Private Amy Wallace and Private John Oliver.

"Wallace I need you to get their signal locked down now."

"Yes sir."

"Oliver, just stay close. That thing is in the area now.. and we just lost three men trying to capture it."

Before he could say anything else Amy's radar beeped, tracking the communicators signal to only about 10 km away from them. Eaton motioned them northwards in the direction of the creature, as they got closer the air only getting more uneasy. Eaton could tell it was there still, the smell of death permeating the entire area, almost making him gag. It took them about an hour to reach the area where the men were but by then it was far too late, what was left was skeletons strewn out across the grounds before them, blood everywhere.

"Oh my god..." Amy said while John and James began moving slowly inwards.

"Dear god what happened here..." Eaton said to himself as he found a skeleton covered in blood by a nearby tree, seeing traces of his uniform around him.

"This thing is rather savage..." John said to which James merely nodded. All the sudden they heard more rustling. In their peripheral vision they could see something heading towards them. All three got their guns and turned, ready to fire. Though it was only another part of their Team.

"Dear god Gregory... you scared me..." Gregory laughed for a second before patting James on the back.

"Oh c'mon sir you shoulda known it was me now."

"Yeah well three of our members we're just killed so I had to be careful..."

Gregory looked at the bodies, behind him stood Vincent and Rachel.

"Wait... where are the other teams at..." Rachel asked to which both Amy and John shrugged their shoulders. Eaton stood up and looked at her.

"We don't know... we thought you all had grouped up to head back to us."

"No.. we thought the other two we're with you guys."

James facepalmed.

"Sh!t..."

All the sudden they could hear a Banshee like screech, it seemed close, very close.

"Get your weapons ready people!" he said as he heard screams in the distance. The group started running towards it, only stopping when they finally saw it. The being itself, ripping one of his men in half. The group hid behind bushes and trees, making sure the creature didn't notice them.

"no... no no no nonononono NO-AGH" said one of the fallen men as the snap of his spinal cord could be heard. James winced as he looked at the others, all with their guns ready. James quickly radioed into command.

"Command.. Command are you there!"

All the sudden the creature perked up in their direction, the others began to sweat.

"Command Reporting, MT-A11? W-"

James quickly interrupted the man speaking to relay the needed info.

"We have a confirmed lossage of six men sir, currently two confirmed surviving squads within MT-A11 and one missing. We found the creature but it-czzzzzzzzz" The sound of gunfire and screaming could be heard as command tried to get back to him.

"James? James..... JAMES?! ANSWER ME DAMMIT! Oh no.... get Atlas Base on the phone now!"

"SH!T" James said as the creature began running towards them, James dropped the communicator, oblivious to the command officer demanding a response.

"FIRE DAMMIT!" he said as he began taking shots at the creatures head, though for all the ones that hit they simply just melted into its skin.

"What the fu-" he couldn't finish his statement as the creature looked over to him, James quickly covering his eyes as the creature let out another banshee screech. James quickly ran, taking cover behind a rock and only peering over to take more shots. John and Vincent quickly found cover with him while Rachel began circling around the creature and taking more shots, keeping its attention for the time being. James looked around in the distance to see a rather large structure in the distance. It looked like an abandoned barn. He motioned to Vincent and John to follow, whistling to get Amy, Gregory, and Rachel's attention. Gregory and Amy quickly made their way over while Rachel, still distracting the creature seemed stuck. James groaned as he motioned the team to head towards the barn as he moved to help Rachel.

All the sudden though the Creature side swiped rachel, forcing her to the ground. The creature looked at her, causing her body to stiffen. She was unable to move.

"NO!" James said as he ran towards her, covering his eyes from the being and taking shots at it. The being started to screech a little bit as he moved away from Rachel and started running after him.

"GO GO GO!" he said, prompting Rachel to run towards the barn. The others watched as James ran around, shooting continuous shots at the beast in question. Though he had a problem, he was running out of ammo.

"dammit..." he said as the creature once more made a loud screeching sound. The Creature began charging after him, James making a b-line for the barn. Once inside Amy and John quickly slammed the doors shut, the group being able to climb up to a high place to avoid the creatures paralyzing guise. Though James had noticed something interesting. It only seemed to paralyze you if it was looking directly at you, once it stopped you could move again. Even so that info really wouldn't help them in this situation. All the sudden though the creature busted through the barn doors, utterly demolishing them as it barged in.

"god dammit.." James said while the others readied their weapons. James looked around at the equipment they had in stock. Some explosives, more ammo, trackers, comms units, and more. His mind wen't back to the explosives.

"Wait.... how many explosives do we have..." he said, Vincent catching on quickly and beginning to count.

"Why ask?" Rachel said to which he only looked at her.

"Well... since bullets only seem to be a distraction for this thing... why don't we try some fire?"

Rachel couldn't help but smirk before Vincent came back with the count.

"we have six sir."

"six? damn... the creature would probably catch me having to set up six..."

John and Gregory looked over.

"we could distract it while you and Vincent set those up."

"I can't have you all do that."

"Why not? Its our job."

"Yes but most likely you'd..."

Gregory spoke up.

"Die? Yeah we know, its in the job description."

James smirked.

"alright.. but if you see any openings that could lead to your survival take them."

He looked over to Amy and Rachel.

"You two... distract the thing from above. I don't want to see you two on the ground."

The two nodded. James stood up and smirked again, readying his gun and holding the three small but powerful explosives.

"Alright team... lets do this.."

"URAAA" The creature looked up, only to be barraged by bullet fire, it let out more screeching. Meanwhile James and Vincent went around, setting up the different explosives one by one.

"KEEP FIRING!" James yelled at the four, Gregory looking back at him and nodding. However as he did so he got snatched by the creature.

"GREGORY!" James said while John ran for cover.

"GOD DAMN CREATURE!" Gregory said as he felt its grip on him tighten. The thing forced him to stare into its eyes, paralyzing him.

"I-I can't move! DAMMIT I CAN'T MOVE! FU-" the creature acted fast, pulling off his head with its razor sharp teeth before dropping the rest of the body to the floor.

Vincent and John merely looked at it in horror while James set up the next explosive.

"WE HAVE NO TIME TO MOURN! MOVE MOVE MOVE!"

The creature began screeching louder and louder, though finally as if it had taken days the explosives we're all connected.

"THEY"RE SET! RUN FOR IT!" Vincent said as the group began running past the creature. James looked at his tablet.

"Explosive charge set off in 10... 9... 8... 7..."

"Go go go go go GO!" he said as he looked back and fired several shots into the creatures chest, causing it to stop for a moment. The creature though only kept speeding up. As the others ran past him he could only run faster in pure adrenaline powered fear. All the sudden the creature grabbed onto him.

"COMMANDER!" John yelled out but he motioned them to keep running, the group fired shots at the thing as it picked him up.

"3...2...1"

All the sudden a bright white flash could be seen, one final screech from the creature as everything was blown to bits. James sat up for a second after the explosion. Before him lied what seemed like a dead creature in the rubble. He sighed in relief as the others ran back towards him, all the sudden though through the thing punched through, standing up and staring at him. James gulped.

"We're screwed aren't we..." he said to which John only nodded. Then however several helicopter lights began shining on it. James began to smirk as he looked up and saw several black helicopters in the sky. Thankfully they had invested in the AI technology. Several armored men came down from the helicopters and aimed their guns at the creature.

"Mobile Task Force A-11 stand down, AGS personnel have this under control."

James merely nodded as several heavy round shots we're fired into its chest, seemingly immobilizing it."

"But-"

"We found that the head was an ineffective area to hit it at, the chest is where the weakspot is."

James nodded. Just another night for them in their minds. They lost a lot of people and one of their squads was still missing, probably dead or something though.

"Alright men lets get this thing to Atlas Base asap. We have work to do."
