It's incredible to think that it's been 20 years since 9/11/2001. I remember being 4 years old, sitting on the bed at my grandfather's house, watching the planes hit the towers on TV and asking my dad what was going on. It's hard to believe that there are now adults who weren't even alive then. We're all still living under the specter of terrorism to this day, especially those here who reside in RL Israel. Hanukkah celebrates the Jewish people's victory over their enemies who sought to eliminate their religious practice. It is a story of perseverance, commitment, and above all, faith. May the light of Hanukkah pierce all the darkness in the world.
On this day we celebrate the beginning of Passover. May all who observe, do so with love in their hearts and joy on their tongues. As Passover celebrates the Exodus, when Israelites fled to freedom from their enslavement in Egypt, let us not forget our brothers and sisters fleeing the war in Ukraine. May the atrocities not go unpunished.
It appears my plans to visit Israel have been pushed back. I had hoped to visit this summer, but I'll have to wait until next summer. Nevertheless, still looking forward to it.
Gives me the opportunity to pick up some more Hebrew before I go, too. Maybe by then I'll be able to remember the difference between תפוח and תפוז LOL
It's not very easy to even get in at the moment, unless you have family there. You'd have to wait anyway very sadly. I hate having my trips to Israel disturbed too!!
Lapid is now PM! For me it's a shame to see Yamima go but I am trusting in his abilities, and although I don't agree with everything he says it could be much MUCH worse (Looking at USA).
