CMDC is a jointly held corporation mostly owned by various governments which was founded by KaltovarColdian and New Meixio originally focusing on the construction of military spacecraft and management of spaceyard facilities and technical schools to provide skilled workers for the corporation.
When a host nation allows the construction of a CMDC facility, the deal works this way: Investor nation (IE Kaltovar) pays 80% of the construction cost, then the ownership of the facility is split 60% by Investor and 40% by the host nation. The facility will provide services to the public market and the host nation, but will always focus on completing orders from the Investor more than it focuses on completing other orders.
Other CMDC member nations besides Kaltovar can also build CMDC facilities in other countries and those facilities can be part of CMDC, but to be part of CMDC they must accept the same terms Kaltovar does for simplicity and to limit internal competition. (Investor pays 80% of startup cost, keeps 60% of profits, host keeps 40% of profits)
The largest stakeholder is Kaltovar, measured by units of currency invested.
All CMDC facilities also pay a 1% pre-tax stipend of all earnings to CMDC for the right to use the CMDC logos and resources. (This fee is split between the stakeholders according to their ownership shares in the factory. The majority owner (Investor who owns 60% of the profits) would pay 0.60% of the the 1% fee and the minority owner (host nation who owns 40% of the profits) only pays 0.40% of the total 1% fee. So, when Kaltovar invests in factories, as the majority stakeholder it pays more money in fees to CMDC than the host nation. (This is the same for all investor nations. They always pay a slightly larger percentage of fees to CMDC)
Notice:Attacking corporate property is against corporate rules. This goes without saying. Even during times of war, you must not attack a CMDC faciltiy in an enemy nation's territory because that facility is owned by the corporation. If you do destroy the facility you must pay 3x the value of the facility to CMDC or be kicked out. Abuse of this system may lead to higher fines.
