Maybe you really do enjoy that specific period and nation, but there's been so many cases where people have decided to play Nazis and masquerade it as Imperial Germany hoping that it would fly under the radar that it can make people uncomfortable. Your post about the treatment of communists, left-wingers, and democrats is also concerning cause it's more reminiscent of the end of the Weimar Republic and the rise of Nazi Germany than with the period you're roleplaying as.

It's very likely (since I specifically requested it this morning) that the rules against Nazi nations/roleplay will be expanded to cover cases where mods feel that someone is using Imperial Germany as a cover for playing as a Nazi-like nation, so that's something to consider too.
