It's just an announcement to deflect international criticism ahead of the climate summit in Glasgow. Furthermore, we don't know what he promised the members who are against net zero in exchange for their support....

The plan, if you want to call it that, is very light on detail. It's merely a political fix with no real substance: the same government voted the next day against actually legislating the target. I'm sure they'll find some creative way to use it to funnel money to big coal and gas.

This is a great honour, thank you, I accept it graciously. The efforts of myself were insignificant compared to that of yourself, Blab and Thestalker, whose proactivity halted the spread of the virus among many nations early on. Without their significant and dedicated efforts to cure the region, it would have been much harder to contain.
