The Isaurian Republic of Achaian Peloponnese

As Isaurian Territory Increases, Void Fleets to Increase Also

Evvia-Class VFV Generosity Unending, Biotian Orbit: The latest addition to the Isaurian Void Fleets left its orbital dockyard today to great fanfare, as High Lord Keram VI Damara arrived above Biotia in person to welcome the Evvia-class carrier VFV Generosity Unending into his service. The Generosity Unending is only the first of a bevy of new warships under construction above Biotia, Noverra, and Adrestus that are intended to make up the core of a new fleet, which High Lord Keram has declared to be essential as the Isaurian League grows ever larger.

“In the time since we have encountered the other nations of this neighborhood of space, we have increased the number of systems under our authority and control threefold,” High Lord Keram said in a speech to mark the launch of the Generosity Unending. “The Void Fleets, for so long required only to guard four or five systems, now groan under the weight of patrol duties far outside their initial scope. One fleet more is not enough, but it is a start, and we must make that start now. Therefore I celebrate the arrival of this vessel and many more in its train, so that we may establish another fleet for the defense of our homeworlds and our interests abroad.”

The Void Fleets are currently undergoing their first test in anger since the end of the Aartisian War almost forty years ago, as the Expeditionary Fleet under Lord Admiral Oumarilis Loria debates the future of the nearby Zephyri Imperiumi with several foreign powers. Zeikeutsyr’s implosion, and the resulting scramble for influence and control by foreign states from every corner of the Orion Spur, has brutally emphasized the importance of a ready and able military force in space, at the same time that the Isaurian League’s exceptional growth in the past year or so has stretched the Void Fleets to the point that they are unable to effectively guard several of the systems under Paravant’s authority and care. As a result, Paravant instituted a drive to improve the Void Fleets several months ago, and the construction of additional carriers for troop transport is considered an important cornerstone of the project.

Said Lord General Elevi Loria, who was present aboard the Generosity Unending to take part in the ceremony before returning to her command on Biotia’s surface: “The High Lord is justly proud of the fighting men and women that make Biotia their home, on whom the League depends against any kind of invasion. In the past, however, our obsessive focus on training our people to defend themselves and the League as a whole has not been matched by any intention of deploying these soldiers to fight. Makarian tradition has long called on us to preserve the life of every Isaurian possible, and strategists from the Reclamation until today have responded to Makaria’s Injunction by refusing to deploy our forces from Biotia unless in absolutely dire circumstances. For generations uncounted, we have trained our people to fight in battles they have never seen. It is long beyond time that this has changed.”

Even as Isaurian strategists reconsider the importance of ground forces in foreign wars, however, the very nature of those ground forces is likely to change. Several nations throughout the Orion Spur have demonstrated an impressive command of robotics for use in war, ranging from remotely-controlled robotic soldiers and even battle robots fitted with artificial intelligence. While some of these solutions, particularly related to artificial intelligence, violate several Isaurian standards implemented generations ago on security grounds, the use to which this robotic technology has been put by foreign nations has been an inspiration to Isaurian military researchers seeking new ways of protecting Isaurian lives while still utilizing the advantages of the League’s impressive land-based military.

As High Lord Keram said in his remarks aboard the Generosity Unending, “A year ago, we embarked on a new journey into the unknown. Look at how far we have come! But also look at how far we have yet to go.”

Hortus Pacificae System

My fellow Eucadians: it’s been a long time coming. We’ve worked day and night for this historic moment in our history as we have finally done it: COSA has re-established contact with whom we believe to be our long lost brethren from the old world.

Our history is complicated. It is delicately intertwined with theirs. And so, because of the interesting history between us and them, we must take the necessary steps to ensure our very survival should we be inviting opportunists into our sliver of space.

However, there is no longer an “us vs them” anymore. For we all come from the same world. We share the same roots, we shared the same air, water, and soil. We share culture, politics, likes, and dislikes. Despite our differences, we are the same in many ways. When the First Peoples left Al’Terra before its total destruction, many Istanistani, Meridians, Telemarcians, Rechians, Korahlians, and countless others from all walks of life escaped with us. We are forever connected because of this.

But we are cautious. Near the end, there was chaos in systems of government. The levels of distrust between Eastern and Xandaran nations was at an all-time high. We are dealing with three scenarios and it’s time that all of us, as a whole, have a conversation as to what our next steps will be.

In the first scenario, which is the current one, we firmly believe that we have contacted our Al’Terran family. So we will work to establish contact between the Eucadian Federation government and theirs and we will be implementing plans across the board for steady integration between Eucadians and our fellow Al’Terrans.

They have not seen benders in over 300 years. We assume they believed we were extinct. We know nothing of their way of life in its current state. It is important we do not shock them with the riches of our worlds. We do not surprise them with our way of life. We must work to build an understanding of them and also help them build an understanding of us.

And so for integration here is what will happen: schools will immediately begin educating on the old world. The focus from Eucadian history will shift to Al’Terran history. It shall not be revisionist in nature. While we confronted our sins long ago, it is important we remind ourselves of how far we’ve come since then.

Various social programs will be created by the ethnic groups in Eucadia to help the off-world Al’Terrans adjust to life here but they will also be geared towards educating benders about their culture and traditions.

Eucadian government announcements will continue to be printed in common tongue, but languages of the old world will also be established as official languages of the Federation; depending on if those languages still exist.

This is the scenario we trust in and believe to be the one that will play out.

In scenario 2 and scenario 3, they’re similar: we’ve either re-established contact with our fellow Al’Terrans and they’re angry with us, or we’ve contacted a violent and rogue faction that could be coming to our planets to wage war. So we have to establish a system that works for all three scenarios to keep us safe. We believe, however, that these scenarios will not play out whatsoever.

But in order to keep us safe, we have to adjust how we live our lives until our Al’Terran brethren come to our planet.

Starting tomorrow morning at 0600, Common Neo-Pandoran Time, all interplanetary communication and travel will be restricted to official government use only. This is in order to keep the Homeworld safe. We have sent the coordinates to our second oldest world: Tranquillum. There, we will make our first contact.

Defense measures have also been put into place to ensure our survival should the alternative become our reality. Again, we are confident that it is not likely.

For the time being, we will be allowing the planets of Tranquillum and Serenitatem to be more independent of the central government during this period of uncertainty. This independence does not mean you are free of the Federation. It simply means your governments will be allowed to resolve disputed matters without central involvement. The laws of the Federation will still apply to the citizens of these worlds. Your rights are still inalienable and will be protected at all costs.

This is a moment of excitement and worry. We are happy but anxious. All we know is that the Al’Terrans are coming to Primus and we can’t wait to be reunited once again. For decades we have looked to the stars and wondered when we would see our family again. And they are almost here.

For all further inquiries into the matter, you can visit official websites to gather more information. When I talk with you again, it will be side by side with our lost brothers and sisters.

May the Gods be with all of us; may they guide us and protect us.

First Contact: The News Reports I

Potentate Newman addresses the Federation as Eucadians prepare for “First Contact”

It’s been an exciting day here on Neo-Pandora. The Federation Palace has been abuzz with politicians going in and out of meetings in preparation for what they are calling “First Contact”.

Potentate Atalania Newman II, still in the early years of her reign, addressed the Federation today and announced plans to “prepare for reintegration and our protection.”

Communication between planets will be restricted tomorrow at 0600, CNPT. The Department of Planetary Affairs has set up channels of communication for official government use but travel and communication at the public level has been entirely forbidden.

Secretary Leanine Taylor stated today “This is for the protection of all our planets and orbital stations. Billions of Eucadians are at risk in the mean time until we determine there is no immediate threat to the population. We are confident that we will have peaceful relations with our fellow Al’Terrans, however, but again we are not in a position to truly confirm this until we make contact.”

When asked if the signal that the Eucadians received in return was from what they believe were of Istanistani origin, Secretary Taylor did confirm that it was. “Yes. For years we’ve beamed messages into the stars but never listened. This was the first response we received and we are very ecstatic.”

First Contact will be taking place on Primus, the moon of Tranquillum. The Al’Terran Project, an organization dedicated to preserving the histories and cultures of Al’Terra, just finished the construction of what they call “a monument to our shared history.”

On Tranquillum, the Hall of Cultural Exchange and History has opened to the public. Visitors can interact with exhibits, both virtual and non-virtual, to learn about the rich history of Al’Terra. Each former nation on the old homeworld has an exhibit dedicated to them, there’s even one on Eucadia.

“We are playing a role in First Contact and have been working with the government to assist in helping the Al’Terrans learn more about our history and culture. On the first full day after contact, we expect their leaders to come and visit the Hall.” said Aaron Harrison, Director of the Hall of Cultural Exchange and History. “We’ll also be opening sites at ports of entry for when we are fully reintegrated with their society, so that visitors coming to our worlds have the chance to learn more about themselves and us.”

The Hall of Cultural Exchange and History was not a cheap construction job, being built with a budget of c133.4 million. “It’s taken hundreds of hours and millions of credits to build this museum. We look forward to the construction of similar museums across the Federation Systems.” said Harrison.

Official Contact Procedures

Although enthused citizens and certain bureaucratic elements have already begun reaching out to Eucadia, the Commissariat for External Affairs nevertheless has decided to extend an official message of greeting to the Federation. Its survival and prosperity are greeted with profound happiness by the General Council, and External Affairs will swiftly begin work on setting up diplomatic relations. Although Istanistan currently maintains a total travel ban for its core system, stations among the outer worlds will soon be opened to Al’Terran travel. Proposals have also been put before the Planning Committee to evaluate potentially beneficial Eucadian trade relations – with Zeikeutsyr still in chaos, conservatives see a chance to undermine the financial and economic power of the pro-trade Lunar Development Council faction through the controlled import of Eucadian consumer goods. With time, academic and cultural exchanges will also be promoted. Finally, Istanistan has officially offered to sponsor Eucadian entry into the Rhiannon Pact in the interest of the further restoration and construction of an Al’Terran economic, political, and cultural community. External Affairs has also officially verified the previous offer of a rare travel permit to Eucadian dignitaries, should they wish to attend the deification ceremonies for Emmalyn Newman.

The great union of meridian

Catching up with the Old World

With the Meridian Civil War in its final legs after nearly 3 years and millions of deaths the Union is finally looking outward once again. Not only towards its Al'Terran Siblings but the other powers of the Orion Spur with the current crisis getting the attention of Vice Admiral Global, the current representative of the Union towards the powers of Sol. Returning from the Citadel and chatting with various other Representatives,Diplomats, Merchants and others he returns to the UMS Tells, one of the first Soverign Class Starships to enter service, docked with the Citidel. His communicator beeps.

"Global Here, what is it bridge"

"Vice Admiral, we got come from Macrossia, were being redeployed, report to your ready room for the details sir"

"Thank you helm, have transporter bay 3 beam me up"

"Yes sir"

A bit later he's beamed up and makes his way too the ready room

"Computer, open transmission lane"

The computer beeps as a holographic screen appears before him, on it displays its getting a secure comms link between the ship and high command. On the screen is not who he expects, the Queen herself.

"Global"

"Highness"

"We have gotten new communications, Eucadians"

"What?"

"So far we've gotten messages from deeper in space claiming there Eucadians. I'm redeployment you and the UMS Tells to initiate diplomatic relations and to swing by Macrossia for additional diplomatic personal including myself. Follow any protocol they have that does not interfere with standard operation. We want normal relations with the Eucadians"

"Yes Mamn, are there any traitor outpost that I could hit on the way?"

"No… we want too show our best and having a ship come with battle scars on it won't send the best message"

"I'm part of Starfleet High Command, not a diplomat"

"And I'm the Queen, Not a General. Your currently the most senior in First Contact finding both Earth and our Al'Terran Brothers. The Eucadians might be late but having both of us present seeing our families are significant for Meridian, at First Contact will show a degree of respect towards the Eucadians and the Pact we haven't managed since the civil war broke out."

"I Understand. We will arrive back at Macrossia Starbase within the week, Global out"

He cuts the coms and slumps down in the seat

"F*cking hell, that girl is something else…"

He presses his badge communicator

"Helm, this is Global. Set course for Macrossia, Warp 8"

"Ey sir"

The UMS Tells would undock from the Citadel and make its way outward from Human space back towards Al’Terran space...

Presidential Primaries only 2 Months Away!

Both the Conservative and Democratic Progressive Parties are only 2 months out from the first Presidential Primaries in Iowa. Incumbent President Garrett Walker (C-VA) is facing strong primary opponents from Former Director of Commission to Preserve the Federation Mark Tarkin (C-UT), Montana Governor John Huntsman, and Minnesota Governor Patrick Humphrey.

Current Polling for Conservative Candidates are as follows:
1. Garrett Walker: 32%
2. Mark Tarkin: 28%
3. John Huntsman: 20%
4. Patrick Humphrey: 20%

Many Conservatives are upset about the fallout from the 2nd Federation Civil War and as a result of the expulsion of Dalia Tarkin from the Federation. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

On the other side of the political spectrum, the Democratic-Progressive Party is looking for a candidate to unite the party and unseat President Walker. The current roster for the Democratic-Progressive Primaries are Former Chancellor Andrew Cameron (DP-WV), Former President Theresa Kennedy (DP-CO) who seeks for a rematch against President Walker, Councilor George Abbott (DP-CA), and Pennsylvania Governor Jim Matthews. Many Democratic-Progressives are upset over the field of candidates viewing them either as relics of a failed Administration (Cameron and Kennedy), old folks home (Matthew (63), Kennedy (55)), or too young and inexperienced (Abbott (35)). Here is the current polling:

1. Abbott: 27%
2. Cameron: 34%
3. Kennedy: 29%
4. Matthews:29%

Decree Concerning the Investigation of the Murders of the Emperor, most of his cabinet, the Senate, Council of State, and Supreme Military Command

People of the Hellenic Imperium,

Investigations into the murders of the highest government and military officials have borne the following fruit,
-The Head of the Inquisition and the head of the Mechanicus were the only two leaders missing from the cabinet meeting, with Fabricator General Sir Jonas McPherson having informed the Emperor two days prior that events in the Mechanicum required him to be absent from government meetings
-The gas used to kill the Senate, Council of State, and Supreme Military Command was Zyklon-D which is produced only in the Hellenic Imperium
-The Varangian Guards have since been found dead in their Barracks with those who accompanied the emperor as door guards having been hidden in nearby cleaning closets.

Investigators have assured me that this kind of thing requires complex planning and knowledge that would only be available to insiders.

It is there determination therefore that the lead suspects in this event are the Inquisition. I call now on all Inquisitors to submit themselves to Coalition forces and be interrogated. Those who do so will be given their proper chance to acquit themselves of these charges and if shown to be innocent they will be allowed to return to honorable service for the Hellenic Imperium, those who do not turn themselves in will be guilty of violating a lawful order and regardless of innocence will lose their rosette and standing in the Imperium and will be reduced to being only a citizen, those who treat this order with hostility and attack coalition soldiers will be seen as admitting in some degree to being guilty of the crimes and soldiers will be allowed to used all measures necessary to defend themselves. If the Inquisition is truly loyal to the people of the Hellenic Imperium then now is the time to prove it by submitting to questioning and bringing evidence that you are not the guilty party if you can indeed bring such evidence.

Mesolongias, Evvian Corporate Negotiators Achieve Compromise

Sardavar, Vindas, Evvia: Paravant’s Representative Zinovios Mesolongias has announced a conclusion to the long-ongoing discussions between himself, in the name of High Lord Keram VI Damara, and representatives of Evvia’s largest and most profitable corporations, on the subject of a labor dispute that has engulfed Evvia for the better part of a year. “Evvia’s laborers can rest easy in the knowledge that they are not destined for unemployment,” Representative Mesolongias declared in a press conference earlier today. “Our League provides; such provisions are indeed the purpose of the Compact, and today we have fulfilled that promise.”

Laborers in Vindas, Heavengate, and the urban areas of other Evvian states have been steadily losing work to alternative labor sources, both within and outside of Isaurian space. Late last year, certain Isaurian corporations announced agreements with international companies for the provision of cheap manufacturing of Isaurian-designed products; further agreements followed in which Isaurian corporations established manufacturing plants of their own in unclaimed star systems, dubbed the Zephyr Expansion Systems, near to the claimed boundaries of Zeikeutsyr, which were operated by Isaurian managers overseeing a working staff of cheap international labor. Despite the short-term investments, the reduced labor costs have guaranteed long-term and permanent profit increases for participating corporations. This has put the continued existence of manufacturing locations on Evvia at risk, as Isaurian laborers demand higher wages according to their rights as listed in the Sardavar Compact. Many factories have already shut down over the past year, while the workers at those still operating have been warned that they must accept lower wages if they do not want to lose their jobs to the new work sites in the Zephyr Expansion Systems. Large numbers of laborers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the situation, and Paravant chose to head off almost-certain unrest by sending Representative Zinovios Mesolongias to negotiate with corporate executives earlier this year.

Representative Mesolongias’s announcement of a consensus comes at a delicate time for the labor market, as the implosion of Zeikeutsyr, a prominent labor source for the Zephyr Expansion Systems, has brought thousands of refugees into Isaurian space; Paravant has already set aside newly-claimed systems for their use, establishing Zephyrinja Kai as an intended Zephyri-majority state within Isaurian space if the Zephyri Imperiumi is never reconstituted, but the refugees remain vulnerable to corporate recruitment efforts that could swell the pool of cheap labor in the Zephyr Expansion Systems. While many of the agreement’s details remain unknown, it is certain that the ZES will not be dismantled, allowing the corporations to continue profiting from the systems’ cheap labor sources. Instead, Representative Mesolongias has focused on improving matters for Evvian laborers despite the continued presence of internationally-sourced competition.

“If Isaurians can no longer offer profitable labor to the corporations of Evvia, they must be trained to offer something else,” the representative said during his press conference today. “We will provide additional education to those who are negatively affected by the establishment of the Zephyr Expansion Systems, with the aim of filling new positions in higher-level management that will undoubtedly open with the influx of cheap labor from elsewhere, and from concurrent developments in the field of robotics that must also be taken into account. We are equally interested in seeing more doctors, researchers, designers, engineers, and all manner of other high-level and high-salaried workers. This agreement commits Paravant and Isaurian corporations to ensuring that such education is readily available to those who will otherwise be left without employment here on Evvia.”

Representative Mesolongias continued by pointing out that the endeavor will be horrendously expensive. “Our agreement ensures that corporate profits from the ZES will fund at least seventy-five percent of the necessary budgets for the next ten years,” the representative assured his listeners. “Thereafter, we will review the labor market and the situation on Evvia, and determine if we should renew this agreement for another decade.”

There was no official statement from any Evvian company, but Representative Mesolongias was accompanied during his address by several corporate representatives that had taken part in the negotiations, lending their silent support to the stipulations of the agreement. While labor leaders expressed a cautious optimism about the proposed deal, objections rose from several lords of the Great Clans, who had been excluded from the negotiations from the beginning as ‘superfluous to the aims of these talks.’ Lord Patellos Antion, who owns several estates in Tarna, warned that the unintended consequences of the agreement could recreate Isaurian society on Evvia and throughout the League. In an interview immediately after the announcement, Lord Patellos said, “If laborers are given the easy opportunity to rise to prominence, eventually there won’t be any ‘commoners’ at all. There will only be executives, high-level managers and other exalted workers, and the scions of the Great Clans. Only the finest differences will remain to divide these groups. Isaurian society as we know it will cease to be—and what then for the Compact that protects us according to our class?”

Unusually, this response in particular drew a response from Representative Mesolongias in the form of a press release published hours after the initial announcement was made: “Lords of the Great Clans, at least, should reasonably expect to differentiate themselves from other Isaurians by the valor of their military service, in the Void Fleets or on Biotia.” Lord Patellos, like many lords and scions of the Great Clans born on Evvia, has no military record.

Representative Mesolongias has promised that further details regarding the organization and funding of the agreement’s educational plan will arrive in the coming days.

First Contact: News Reports II

Potentate Atalania arrives on Tranquillum. COSA prepares Primus for First Contact

Our fellow Al'Terrans have not seen benders in over 300 years, according to COSA officials. And as signals have been beamed back and forth between us and them, the time for First Contact is upon us.

According to the Primus Central Authority (PCA), it is estimated that the Al'Terrans could be arriving by the end of this week. "We are very excited for what we consider to be a very historic moment in our nation's history." said Director Michael Stevenson. "We are assuming that the first representatives will be from the former Meridians, and the Istanis." said the Director. "But we are getting signals from what we believe could be the Titans. We have yet to confirm this."

COSA officials arrived on Primus yesterday morning and are "in the beginning stages of preparing the Moon for First Contact." They aren't the only government officials to arrive. Dragon One, the First Family's starship, touched down at the Prince Colson Spaceport on Tranquillum this morning. A crowd in the hundreds gathered to see Her Excellency depart from the ship, alongside her wife, Samirah Newman, and their five children. The Potentate quickly addressed the crowd before getting into a skycar and heading off to Izumi Resort, the preferred hotel of many government officials.

"I am excited to be here on Tranquillum. And I am even more excited for the dawn of a new age. I will cherish, as I'm sure many of you will too, the moment that we reconnect with our cousins from the old world. I can't wait to share with them the opulence and splendor that we have always been known for. I know that we are all excited for this moment. They are too. Thank you all for coming to greet my family and I." said the Potentate.

On Primus, COSA officials are stating that the moon's defenses are being readied but will not be "truly active" on the day the Al'terrans arrive. The Federation Forces have also been moving various starfleets into position around Tranquillum and Primus. "While we do not expect anything to go wrong, these defensive/security measures are for our protection and the protection of the Al'Terrans from those who would want to do them harm." said Admiral Keyes, in reference to the current Insurrection Movement.

Need I remind you folks, the Insurrection Movement is a group of rogue Eucadians who's mission is to disrupt society and create chaos in a way that brings attention to non-benders who "suffer" under the rule of the bending class. Insurrectionists are responsible for the Trinity Bombing, a horrific act of terrorism at the Trinity High School on Neo-Pandora that resulted in the deaths of 233 kids. Trinity High School is a prestigious private school that has produced various Pro-Bending athletes, government politicians, and was the high school of Potentate Atalania Newman when she was a teenager. Insurrectionist numbers are estimated in the mere thousands, but they've been stepping up their tactics.

"We do not expect any disruption at the First Contact event. But all scenarios are being considered and we must be prepared for them." said Keyes.

Meridian Will Be United

With the UMS Tells arriving home to pick up the diplomatic crews headed for Eucadian Space, Queen Warendrop stopped to deliver words on the future of Meridian and the path the Union will take going forward. She stands at the Royal Macross Spaceport in Macross City, on the docking port sits the Captain's Yacht, a support vessel designed for transport of diplomatic and bridge crews. Looking behind her stands the Media, hungry as ever for everything regarding the Royal Family.

Vice Admiral Global appears from the crowd and enters the Queens armed escort. Still within his dress uniform. The two are the most powerful people within Meridian at this point and descendant from the two houses that have defined the nation since before its inception. Two of many bloodlines destined by fate to be echoed through history.

"So, my lady. Are you going to give the press what they want, what the nation wants and what you want."

"Yes…I will…"

The young Queen turns around to face the onslaught of hungry vultures looking to capture every movement, every slice of news and every screw up. As she turns there obsessive cries for attention silence as to better hear her

"Here, standing before us we have the chance to shape history, some call on me to be brutal to those who betray us, failing to see that doing so would sow the seeds for the next conflict. What has separated us from the common animals found on countless worlds and what is the basis of all known intelligent life is this, a common story stemming back millions of years. In our records we have jaw bones of ancient Terrak, it belonged to a member of our species cousins to the modern Terrak, he was a male of about 40 years old who lived probably over 2 million years ago. The jaw is missing all of its teeth except for one. We know he lived a long time like that which means someone was helping him to eat. Two Million years ago, someone was feeding him. Someone cared about him, maybe someone loved him back in deep time before our species began, a person or group was practicing compassion. Someone was being kind for the sake of being kind.

I think about that two million year old jawbone alot these days. Sometimes I imagine a little pack of our evolutionary cousins huddled around a fire, knowing little, understanding even less. Before recourse to reason,or law, or history, before currency and standing armies, before socks and probably with no concept that one day, two million years in the future their cousins, Us, would build this incredible project of civilization. And if there was some way we could have shown our cousins and ancestor just how far Terrak would one day come, everything would seem alien to them. Except perhaps, for compassion. Because though they lived in perpetual ignorance, though they were incorrect about almost everything all the time, from that jawbone and many other ancient skeletons telling almost exactly the same story, we know that they had kindness. And it is the same kindness that today raises our kids and takes care of our elderly. Its the same kindness that provides disaster relief or medical aid, the same kindness that sustains friendships and writes love letters.

Do any of you ever get that weird “wow” moment sometimes, when you realize that the future isn’t just this abstract science fiction place. Its actually coming? One day, it will actually be the 5th (29th century) and the 6th centuries (30th century) and they will be just as pedestrian and real as today is to us? Then we get to that moment where we realize that making it to those centuries isn’t guaranteed, that we could drop the ball at any moment, and we think “by the stars! Is anyone making sure were going to be okay? Is anyone actually steering the ship?” cause those sure are some big waves over there, and we’eve never been this far out to sea before and maybe if we squint really hard, we can just about make out the promise of land centuries ahead but between the future and us are then thousand furious storms of warfare and infighting and tadris knows were in a crisis right this minute. But our ancestors have been here before, living forever on the knife-edge of ignorance and death, at the constant mercy of systems inside and outside themselves that they did not understand, just like us today. And if there was one thing alongside intelligence and technology and wisdom, if there was one thing that sustained them, if there was one thing that got them trough their bones are indisputable. It was compassion... it was kindness…

Doubtless, we will screw up in the future… with one million times the efficiency that we screwed up in the past. We cannot, and will never be correct, about everything all the time. Ignorance is in our bones. But kindness is in our DNA.

Here, today we make our mark to stem the screw up that led to this and forge a new future for us by forgiving the ills of those that fight and bringing them back to within the kindness of a Meridian Reborn, a Meridian that will be United. A Meridian under new leadership determined to right the wrongs of a thousand generations and a Meridian that will strike into the future head on for a glimpse at that land in the storm… Meridian Will Be United… “

The Young Queen turns, marching off towards the shuttle to take her to the UMS Tells leaving not but a stunned media but a stunned Vice Admiral. for over the course of the Civil War this girl changed dramatically from a lighthearted girl with little in the name for queenly ambitions, content to let her brother take the throne to a full leader of a nation of Billions all looking to her for guidance in a dark hour. she still has much to learn at her young age but still does Global being only in his mid 30's. after shaking it off he catches up with her aboard the Tells.

"What in the circles of the gods was that! you left them speechless!"

"Yes"

"Well, once we take off, i have a plan to win our war while we take our trip"

"what..."

"yes, ill share it later but for now we have to meet the Eucadians"

The two make there way into the main section of the ship and begin to relax for the journey ahead. looking out the window of the main lounge the ruins of a once proud city making things clear, Winning the War will be one thing, rebuilding from it will be another. once clear it lifts up and proceeds to orbit where it rallies with the UMS Tells. while the ship still looks normal from the outset its hosting much more than it usually has. the ship being transformed from its normal military service to one accommodating a near full diplomatic corp increasing its servicemen from 1800 to well over 2500 to support the incoming diplomatic mission to Eucadia, the Rhinon Pact and many, many other nations. with that all said and done the Tells enters warp headed towards Eucadian space towards Tranquillum

Interstellar Systems Navy Cruiser Missing

The Arasilias System has been buzzing with activity the past two weeks, following the disappearance of a Interstellar Systems Navy cruiser, after it left its station on a routine shakedown patrol. The vessel left at 1400 hours of day six, of the second planetary quarter, and was scheduled to end her shakedown cruiser eight hours later, however after over twelve hours the vessel failed to report in, and after no response was given following repeated requests from local Navy command to report in, the local garrison began searching for the lost ship.

Since then more than twenty vessels of the Imyerstellar Systems Navy, aided by hired civilian ships numbering approximately forty two of various types, have been searching up and down the Arsallias belt, an asteroid ring orbiting the star, where the vessel is suspected to have gone missing at, due to the area being a particularly hazardous area for passing space vessels. However there has been no true head way made in the search, despite several false alarms regarding ion trails, which have been debunked as radioactive trails from celestial bodies containing radioactive isotopes floating in the belt, a large part of what makes the belt so dangerous, as the abundance of radioactive materials often wrecks havoc on a ships navigational sensors, requiring the vessels pilot to control the craft manually on optical and thermal sensors alone, a dangerous prospect at the best of times in an environment as unpredictable as an asteroid ring. However the commander of the detachment, Commodore Aslian Mortin, has made it clear that the search will not end until either the missing vessel is found, or what remains of the vessel is discovered. Even with this confidence however, the commodore still has quite a large area to shift through, and it is expected that the search could take months or even years before any hard evidence is found.

Despite minimal diplomatic contact between the two nations, Republica has offered the use of a trio of powerful sensor vessels to aid in the location of the missing ship.

The Commodore is grateful for whatever assistance can be offered, and is happy to accept the aid offered, while unfortunately he does not have the authority to carry out further diplomatic talks on the matter, an ambassador will be called up as soon as possible.

“Ma’am!” shouted Keith as he stormed into the Potentate’s room. “I confirmed with COSA! It’s official. The Meridians and Istanis have entered the Edenis System. They’re currently at Edenis Ingressum Station, Point One!” Keith started to run out of breath as he was sharing the exciting news.

Atalania, who was sitting with her wife at the breakfast table, put down her bagel and wiped her mouth. “You know Keith, I was expecting confirmation to take at least, an hour. Can I enjoy breakfast with my wife please?” asked the Potentate.

“Yes ma’am. I apologise. I did not think it would be that fast. I’ll let you get back to your morning meal.” Keith responded. “I’ll upload the documents to your tablet. In the mean time, I’ll go and find the kids and get them ready for the event.” Keith bowed to the Potentate and began stepping out of the room, but stopped when he heard his name again.

“Thanks Keith. We appreciate all your hard work.” said Samirah. Keith nodded and closed the door behind him as he exited.

“Don’t be so hard on him.” Samirah said as she threw her cloth napkin on the table. Atalania chuckled. “Well, he’s the fifth assistant we’ve gone through in the span of weeks. I know he’s adjusting. Hopefully he’s not a sympathiser like the other four have been.”

“Maybe we don’t hire on assistants until after they clear their background checks?” chimed Samirah.

“Well obviously. But I don’t have control over that- and hey, you think it would be like that anyway but it’s not! So clearly we need to make some serious adjustments around here.”

They both went back to eating their breakfast. It wasn’t long before the silence was interrupted by the sounds of laughing children as they entered their parent’s suite. Atalania stood up and went over to her son, picking him up off his feet and swirling him in the air before lifting him to her face. “Well well, how did my little prince sleep?” she asked as she bopped Kasten on the nose with her finger.

“Mommy, I had a bad dream. There was a bad man shooting fire out of his hands at me!” said Kasten. “Oh no,” began Atalania, “that doesn’t sound fun at all. Maybe at your Declaration, when we find out what your bending is, you can throw a good few jabs back at him? How does that sound?” she asked as she was setting Kasten down. He began to laugh and walked over to the couch. Atalania looked over and saw her daughter, Eliana, sitting on her wife’s lap.

“What about you sweetie? How was your rest?”

Eliana responded. “It was good but only when Kast wasn’t crying!” she declared. She threw an orange slice at her brother. He grabbed it and ate it.

Keith came back into the suite. “I am so sorry Your Excellencies! They demanded to come and see their parents. I couldn’t refuse.” he said. Atalania walked over to him and placed her hand on his shoulder. She smiled. “It’s okay. You’ll get use to it. What about the three grouchy teens? Did they wake up?” she asked. Keith stated that he did not attempt to disturb them, so he did not know.

“Oh um,” she said, “they’re hard to deal with in the morning anyway. Torrian will tell you to f*ck off, Chasron will tell you to go away, and Taraxia? Well, she’ll tell you both to f*ck off and go away. I think she got that from my dad, Daxton. My other dad, Kast, he was so kind. Daxton though? He’s always angry and it got worse after father passed. So don’t worry about them.” Atalania let out a good laugh. “I’ll go wake them up.”

Atalania left the suite. She walked down the hallway. She came upon Torrian’s suite door and knocked a couple of times. After no response, she opened the door and walked in.

“Torr. Wake up.” she said. He let out a good groan. She sat next to him on the bed. She ran her fingers through his hair, meeting his cheek. She then gave him a full-faced slap. Torrian opened his eyes and shot straight up in bed, while simultaneously shooting a small ball of fire at his mother. Atalania deflected it quickly.

“You need to work on your aim.” she said.

“Mom. Please let me sleep.”, said Torrian. Atalania walked over to the windows and threw open the curtains. “No sir. You have princely duties to do today. You were supposed to do more training, but that'll have to wait. The contact event is in a few hours." said Atalania as she walked back over to Torrian's bed. She sat down again.

"You, Chasron, and Taraxia have to get ready for the appearances. There will be a press event outside before we board the Axiom to go to Primus. From there, you and your siblings will stand behind me and Samirah and will smile and be happy. We have to put on happy faces for the entire Federation."

Torrian was still rubbing his eyes. "Why though?"

"Because the Insurrectionists are making some crazy lies up to use in their propaganda. We need to ensure that those lies remain as such."

"Well who cares if we aren't happy? I know about you and mom anyway." Atalania leaned back in shock. Her and Samirah had a serious rough patch in their relationship. Other than just overall appearances of being angry with one another, there were also rumours of infidelity and an abortion, which surely would have made national news. So far, the rumours remain that, just rumours.

"I don't care what you think you know. Now please." said Atalania as she stood from the bed. "Get up and get ready. I'll send in the staff to help you pick out the proper attire for today's event."

Atalania walked out of the room. Torrian was always her most difficult child. She walked down the hallway until she got to Kasten's door. She opened it this time, without knocking, only to walk in on her son already getting ready.

"Good morning son." she said.

"Good morning, mom." said Chasron. "I've already brushed my teeth and I rescheduled our meeting with Branden for tomorrow after the event today." Atalania raised an eyebrow. "You're usually grumpy in the mornings? What's your deal?"

"Um," began Chasron, "Nothing really. I just got a lot of sleep and I even went to the spa yesterday for a massage. It was totally worth it so I just feel relaxed. I've always loved coming to Izumi. It's my favourite place." said Chasron. "I need to use the restroom. I'll see you in a bit." he said as he stood from his chair and walked over to the bathroom doors. Atalania stepped out of the room and made her way around the corner and down another hallway. She came to her oldest daughter's room, also walking in without knocking.

"Taraxia. I know you better be getting ready." she said sternly. A muffled voice came from the bathroom.

"I am mom. I'm just straightening my hair. Leave me alone. I'll be down when I'm done which will be soon." said Taraxia. Atalania began walking to the door but didn't reach it before she was interrupted by her daughter.

"Don't come in here! I'm busy. I'm straightening my hair and getting ready like you would have asked. I can sense you walking over to my bathroom door. I'm not done!" said Taraxia. The sound of the door being locked made Atalania annoyed.

"Fine, I'll let you finish up. See you in a bit." said Atalania. She walked out of the room and back towards her own so she could finish her breakfast, which was probably already cold by now.

The Articles of Coexistance
The Crown Prince Aedach would hold a meeting with Rebel General Antan Vana'Schad, as well as the 32 Noble Houses of the Triazchi in order to draft the now dubbed "Articles of Coexistence", which would outline the conditions that would allow for the three seperate nations to operate without coming into conflict with eachother, and has effectively turned the once absolute Portalla into a Council of Princes. Among the agreements listed included the transfer of Portallan trade affairs to the proficiently Mercantile Triazchi, the divving up of space holdings into Portallan and Triazchi hands, and the recognition of the legitimacy of the rebel's government, which has dubbed itself the "Confederacy of Kyru-Zharzhak Princes", or the CKZP.
These articles have drawn criticism from few Portallans, which voice that allowing the CKZP to exist shows that Portalla will allow further growth of rebellious elements. The Crown Prince has yet to comment on the concerns of his naysayers.

Identity of 'Mystery Ship' in Sperenzan Yards Discovered! SKM Erinnerung Confirmed to be Captured Nyx!

In a shocking leak from an undisclosed source, the unusual vessel that limped into the shipyards over Sperenza has been confirmed to be a Nyx class supercarrier, a capitol ship from the Equisian Navy. It is not currently known which Nyx it was, although many suspect that the Necrontyr Mission to the Zephyri might be one of the more likely sources. The Königin has acknowledge that the vessel may be of Equisian origin, but has declared it legal salvage and announced that the vessel was in the process of being outfitted for the Königreich. The vessel has been listed as the SKM Erinnerung, of the 'Erinnerung Class supercarrier' line, raising even more questions on the part of observers. It is presently unclear whether the Königin intends to build more of these 'Erinnerungs', or that there are more captured Nyxs, or if there is a plan in place to 'acquire' more Nyxs.

Embargo of Equestria to be Lifted! Declaration of Interregnum to be Cast Upon Shattered Nation! Offer of Sanctuary for Refugees!

In light of recent events within the Equisian capitol and the surrounding systems, the Königin has declared the region in a state of Interregnum and removed the travel and trade restrictions in light of said state. She as also offered sanctuary for any citizens or groups wishing to flee the growing conflicts across the Equisian region. Some have questioned why this offer was not also extended to the Zephyri, however the Königin has ignored any questions on the subject.

Bergmann Factory Workers inform Company Executives and Konsulate of Labor of their Intention to form an Arbeiterverbund to Petition for Redress of Grievances

In an uncommon event today, the workers of the primary Bergmann factory have announced in accordance with the law, they have sent formal notice to the Executives of the Bergmann Arms Company and the Konsulate of Labor, to make clear their intentions of forming an Arbeiterverbund. The letter further stated that both the Company execs and the Konsulate would have their petition of requests no later then a week from now.

For non Reich readers, in the Reich there are no unions (unless the Guild of Basketweavers is counted which under law it is not due to Tribal definitions of Guilds and Unions,) as no workers have ever seen a need for such standing organizations. Instead when workers need to organize they due so under temporary bodies called Arbeiterverbund (Workers' Club) which are protected by law. Under said law the Workers must inform the company executives and Konsulate of their intention to form a bund, at which time they are protected from firing for up to seven days while they draft a petition of requests which is then sent to the company executives and the Konsulate. The Executives then have a 24 hour period to respond that they either accept the requests or that they wish mediation by the Konsulate of Labor. If it goes to mediation a deal will be attempted. If a deal cannot be made then the Workers have full legal recourse to Strike. With Bergmann however holding some government contracts it is quite possible the Konsulate will prevent striking through arbitration which could be bad for the company as Arbitration rarely goes against the workers.

When asked for comment the CEO of Bergmann Arms Viktor Bergmann gave the following, "I am reserving all judgement until I see their Petition of Requests. I have nothing but respect for my workers and their right to form this Bund to ask for satisfaction. In fact my ancestor Heinkel Bergmann was the first to suggest such a group in 2215 when various workers had various grievances. Rather then brushing them off like most industrialists of the time or trying to satisfy every request he instead encouraged them to get together in a temporary group, pick a spokesman, and create a common agreed upon list. For this my ancestor was hated by his peers but also loved and respected by his workers. I hope to one day earn that same love and respect."

We will update this story as it progresses.

0500 Hours - Bruno Sector, Reich Space - STK Otto Skorzeny

Heinrich Mueller stifled a yawn as he looked over his terminal. Mueller was proud of his position as Chief Engineer of the oldest vessel in continuous Service to the Reich. The Surmtroopen Korvette (STK) Otto Skorzeny was commissioned half a year after the end of Second Manchu War. Mueller was the fourth Chief Engineer of the Skorzeny and he hoped that like his three predecessors he would keep her running until his retirement.

He was removed from his thoughts by the heavy yawn of another person.

"Good morning Chefingenieur (CheIn) Mueller. How are you today?" The voice spoke excellent English but with a thick Greek accent. It was Δίοπος (Leading Seaman) Ephialtes Kámpel who was serving on the Skorzeny as a part of a long standing Specialists exchange program. The young Greek was always very interested in learning about the systems and protocols of the Reich Vessel and so it came as no surprise to the CheIn when the Greek began peppering him with questions.

"Remember yesterday you told me about the systems that help with boarding. I am curious, are there systems to help deal with being boarded?"

"Indeed there are. There are a series of controls on the bridge allowing the creation of killing paths by locking the doors and activating specialized anti-boarding auto cannons."

"But what if they do like you Tribals and aim to board by crashing into the bridge?"

"Then we have localized ways to activate the killing path security systems."

The Greek man nodded. "In our navy we try not to get boarded but if we do get boarded then mighty space marines show our enemy they messed with the wrong ship. But even we have possibility of losing ship which is why we have self destruct. Do Tribal vessels have self destruct?"

"Multiple. There is the main one which is is controlled from the bridge but if the bridge is taken then each department has self destruct protocols. The armory has protocols to detonate all of its bombardment shells at the same time and here in the engine room we deactivate the secure containment protocol on the ship's power core and then run max power to shields, sub-light engines, and the ftl at the same time. This creates a massive power overload and makes the ship go boom." That would never be necessary though with the great crew of the Skorzeny... That was the last thought of Mueller before suddenly he felt a pain so sharp in his left kidney he couldn't even scream. Before he could even hope to figure out what was happening Ephialtes slammed down on the CheIn's stomach and slit his throat with a dagger. Right before Mueller's death he saw one last sight. On the dagger was a stylized Gothic I.

The crew never saw their fate coming. The agent did his job well and disabled all warning sirens before hand. With not a trace of remorse he set up a 10 minute command sequence and then headed for an escape pod which he then used to rendezvous with with a stealth corvette. Right as the ship took off and he went to report to his master, he saw what he could only describe as the beautiful sight of the STK Otto Skorzeny explode into a million pieces.

"Is it done?" Asked the goateed Greek man as his hologram stood imposingly over the kneeling agent.

"Yes lord Inquisitor. The Skorzeny is no more. Did Pelagia succeed as well?"

"She did. The TSSS Riga has been taken out. We have successfully poked the wolf. Lets see how hard we can make it bite."

0600 Hours - Einheit, Teutonlandt, Einheitsreich - Einheitspalast

Johann sat in his study reading over the plans for the Siegfried and Rheinwand. As he was looking over the list of officer candidates to serve as Generalleutnants for the two Freikorps there was a familiar heavy knock on the oaken door.

"Come in Garm." Johann said groggily. He wasn't getting as much sleep as he probably should but there was so much work to be done. The Konsul des Krieges entered and gave a quick salute but did not wait to be told at ease. What came next chilled Johann with a cold rage.

"My lord we have been victims of a terror attack. Roughly 40 minutes ago the TSSS Riga and STK Otto Skorzeny stopped passively reporting in. Recon ships were sent out to gain contact and ascertain the problem. What they found were the remains of the two ships. Both destroyed the exact same way. Using the Engineer Self Destruct Protocol." Johann looked displeased but Iblis knew it was much more then that. The Captain of the Skorzeny was a personal friend of Johann's and everyone on that ship was a Stormtrooper. The Riga was insult to injury as it was one of the newest frigates and on her maiden voyage. Iblis could tell Johann wanted him to continue.

"The X-28s of both ships were recovered." The X-28 is a piece of hardware on every Reich ship that acts like the black boxes of pre-war areoplanes. It stored the last 24 hours of video footage and ship diagnostics. Johann steepled his fingers. "Then hopefully we will soon have the truth." He collapsed the steeple and went back to looking at the documents on his desk. "Let me know as soon as you discover something."

The wait was not a long one. 35 minutes later Garm returned with a datapad in hand. He placed it gingerly on the Kaiser's desk. "What are the results Garm?"

"Your not going to like it." Was Iblis' only reply.

"Stormtroopers and Titanschutzshirm personnel are dead. Please skip to the culprit."

"Greek exchange sailor." The room was now deadly quiet as the Konsul continued. "They were both registered as engineers. They both killed the Chefingenieur of their respective ship before activating the engineer self destruct protocol. Both managed to escape. IzS is already starting a case to hunt them down." Johann said nothing for a full minute before calmly asking,

"Garm leave me for a bit please." Garm Saluted and then left. As soon as the big oaken door was shut Garm informed the two stormtrooper guards about the event. Good thing as well for as soon as he finished there was a loud sound of a heavy desk being turned over. Then came the rapid shouting in altteuton. Various curses and invocations as sounds of things breaking could be heard even through the heavy door. One word kept being repeated over and over again. "Gastfreundschaftsschlachtung! Gastfreundschaftsschlachtung! Gastfreundschaftsschlachtung!" Hospitality Slaughter. A form of Treason so repugnant in the Tribes that to commit it is to incur slow, painful, and horrible death. The Konsul immediately proceeded to the office of the Kanzler to inform him of the news so they he could hopefully prevent Johann from doing anything thoughtless.
