The Who Is Your Daddy of Nodin Beeker: I don't care much for contemporary R&B, but dig the old stuff. Turn me on to an oldie I probably don't know—some foreign obscurity. When it comes to metal, heavy metal is about as harsh as I wanna get. I still occasionally hanker for some of what's on Godsmack's Godsmack album, but listening to more than a few tracks makes me feel kinda mean. I have little use for that mood. I was once heavily into grunge and alternative: Nirvana, Pixies, Soundgarden, etc., but seldom listen to it anymore. Now that I'm getting older, my tastes run closer to Fred's—except for AC/DC. I like a lot of classic rock and Aretha's awesome. Who's Zoomin' Who is a favorite. In the end, though, there's only Chris Whitley. I also dig Big Head Todd, Chris Isaak and Geoffrey Oryema. I could probably be satisfied to the end of my days with just Whitley's Living With the Law album, Isaak's Baja Sessions, Todd's Sister Sweetly, Oryema's Beat the Border, Beethoven's Eroica and Chopin's Concerto No.1. |
Nodin try King Coleman - Down In The Basement Half a dozen to whet your appetite from my playbox ;-) |

The Who Is Your Daddy of Nodin Beeker, I listened to every one of those—all of it great party or road trip music. I really like Lillian Briggs. Thank you. I don't know what to make of Jack Parow (is that a play on Jack Sparrow?) or South Africa for embracing redneck chic. Arcade Fire is cool. Another good Canadian band is The New Pornographers. Is there diversity in Hell or what? |
