Kressidia nodded.
"I am an honourable lady and a lady of my word. I will let you leave and return to your packs on one condition; that you tell your packs of me, of what I have done here, and of my rallying cry to all those who wish for glory and for the chance of a better life."

She then turned to the handlers and identified the ones who wished to leave.
"Take these ones to the outskirts of the city and feed them well. Then let them go; they will inform other Viper Wolves of my mission and hopefully bring me some more support."

******

"I am more than happy to; it is a hobby I do very much enjoy." Erwin said with a smile.

******

(Yeah, remember? First time they learned about her was through the letter. She met Nelly first, and was brought by her to the Aerlanicans.)

Spencer nodded slowly.
"Alright...alright..."

Spencer investigated the chains and tried to figure out how he could break them. First, he attempted to freeze them significantly to make them brittle, and hopefully easily shattered.

******

Nelly slowly nodded.
"Yes...perhaps we could also say it was that...what was their name...that...person who gave it to you...who made it get ejected. That way the agency of it disappearing is not ours."

The handlers were confused.
"What? Just...release them? They aren't even trained yet, why would they ever return?"

******

"Alright. I'm just asking so I know to show up hungry."

******

(I guess so. It's just hard keeping track of who knows who and all that.)

The enchantment resisted the change in temperature, but if Spencer's magic was strong enough, it would still work.

"What, Savareon? You think we should claim that Savareon returned? Savareon has been gone for countless generations."

Kressidia raised a hand and turned back to the wolves who wished to return to their packs.
"Do I have your promise you will do as I have asked, and relay my message to your packs?"

Erwin smiled warmly.
"Well, I'll be sure to try and make sure I meet your expectations." He said in reply.

******

(I've got a somewhat...decent approximation on who knows what? I think?)

Spencer, recognising his initial setback, drove more energy into his effort in breaking the chains.

******

"Last I checked the Tyramonians don't know about Savareon, and there's plenty of esoteric entities out there in the world, including ones that like to remain hidden and out of sight."

The wolves seemed agreeable to this, at least those who intended to return to their own packs. Of course, even if they did relay the message, there was no guarantee as to how many wolves would come to Kressidia. It would be asking wolves to leave their pack to follow a woman they barely know in waging some sort of war against humans, despite Kressidia being one.

******

"I'm sure you will. I'll see you tonight."
Vara left to check on Neysa.

******

(I think I do too, but clearly I mess up once in a while.)

The chains began to crack, and as Ameli strained against them, the chains broke.

******

"I see...well, I suppose that shall be our story then."

"They are serving as messengers, who will hopefully return to their packs and send them a message from me...there is a sizeable chance that by letting these wolves go and showing them my goodwill, I may perhaps gather even more wolves to my cause, perhaps entire packs.

Kressidia frowned at the replies of the wolves; this was not satisfactory. She expected the wolves to contact the leaders of the pacts to assemble a sort of quasi-feudal kingdom out of the wolves; her at the head of at least three or five packs.

Kressidia tapped her chin, and addressed the wolves.
I understand, and will not withdraw my promise. Perhaps you may also extend a request to your pack leaders that I wish to talk with them, and ask them if they are willing to help. I would also like to stress that you will not be forced to follow me, nor will the leaders of your packs be forced to do so either. Furthermore, the packs they rule will be preserved and the territory they control will also be preserved...this is simply a temporary alliance, nothing more and nothing less.

Neysa was...well...where Vara left him. He was more or less still obsessed over Vara, and as an obedient thrall remained where Vara ordered him to remain.

Currently he was polishing his blade, however when Vara entered the room he immediately stood to attention.

"My Lady, you have returned."

******

(Hey, don't beat yourself up about it. We're human, not perfect.)

Spencer, wasting no time, grabbed Ameli by the shoulder as he helped her up slightly.

"Now, you will feel sick for the first...oh wait, you're a sorcerer...nevermind."

With a flash of light, Spencer disappeared from the strange location where Ameli was imprisoned and re-appeared back in the holding cell, sprawling across the floor. Once he got his bearings, Spencer sat up and held his cut calve as Alena stood and approached.

"Spencer...are you alright?" She asked.

"Of course...just got cut a little..." Spencer gestured to Ameli. "However she seemed to not have a good time."

Alena approached Ameli and, crouching down beside her, helped the Sorcerer sit up.

"Hello there...are you alright? My name's Alena...what's yours?"

Nelly nodded.
"If my master shows up...let me do the talking." Nelly commented. "For now, is there anything I can do to make you all comfortable?"

(I'll re respond! Sorry, I don't have a backup.)

"Koros van Bamber...the president of Oateria...we need to warn him..." She says, her eyes changing slightly, to a deadly determination. "I need to save people...and the cosites..."

"Alright, well, that's sounds like a plan," Sophia said slowly, "so why don't we tell him?"

******************

"Oh, yeah, Lily-Rose-" He said, looking over to her. "I read somewhere about the Oaterian military looking for Aerlanicans, Drachmans, in general just foreigners to help advise a revitalization in weapons. Worth a shot, at least. I mean, you seem to know a lot about starfighters, and the government is trying to actually work with the planets they have, I've heard. I mean aside from the small port on Vaelicia."

"Woah, slow up there buckeroo, me knowing about planes and me being good at aerospace engineering are two different things. I'm only technically in my second year." Lily-Rose said with a chuckle. He slapped him on the shoulder affectionately; "but thanks for the heads up there Mills."

"I'd have to caution the Oaterian government in this course of action," Ysali said with a grin, "Lily-Rose has argued in favour of air launched nuclear missiles-"

"It's just a cost-effective way to kill a large formation of enemies and it can be used against ground targets as well." Lily-Rose said defensively.

"And the EMP as a side effect." Ysali inquired with a raised eyebrow

"All I'm hearing is more arguments in favour of my proposal."

******************

"Yeah well..." she trailed off, seemingly trying to find a snarky or otherwise sarcastic and apathetic comment to reply to the statement made by Sejur, but failing to do so. Instead, she shrugged; "Whatever...just...yeah...just remember destiny isn't a real thing."

She continued walking.

Vara looked at him and considered what she wanted to do. She didn't really want him distracting her at the moment, but at the same time she didn't really want him out and about.

After some thinking, she smiled flirtatiously at him. She stepped closer to him, caressing him with her tail as she undressed him and herself.
"I think it is time to reward your service and good behavior, no?"
She pushed him onto the bed. (Fade to black.)

Ameli clearly still wasn't right in the head. She was delirious, and Spencer and Alena noticed that out of nothingness some strange plants, animals, and other lifeforms began to form. They were mostly deformed and harmless, though Spencer did see that same thorny vine that grabbed him back in the cavern.

Ameli calmed down enough to fall unconscious, and after she did, no new life popped up. However, there was already a fair bit of life, though some of the most deformed organisms were already dying off.

After just a short time, Neysa was in his "stunned" state, which allowed Vara to sit on the floor and meditate without distraction. She had, as of late, experienced the occasional...strange psychic sensation, and she now tried to explore and recreate those strange occurrences.

Vara meditated slowly, and gently tried to peer at her mind. After deep introspection, her thoughts came across a strange...clashing between something suppressed by some form of charm or enchantment or...something, and her mind itself. It was like two magnets occasionally brushing against each other, and when they "brushed" against each other, her mind briefly...grew excited.

She peered further, further and further and further into her mind, just as a small brush happened.

As she breathed in, she felt and heard herself finalise her inhale...before time seemed to loop for a fraction of a second. It wasn't major, but it was noticeable...a strange phenomena as her perception of time seemed to slow before rapidly speeding up.

However the onset was clearly unreliable, and as of now it was not under her direct control, only seemingly occurring when the two components brushed against each other.

Alena motioned for Spencer to help, and the two of them placed Ameli onto one of the cots provided in the room. She addressed the wizard.
"She needs some care, I think she'll live but...she'll need to rest up and be taken care of."

Alena paused.
"I presume I remain within this room for observation?"

******

"I'm fine, but what about my crew?"

"It is up to you," Nelly commented, "I can say I took you somewhere private and palm you off to the Aerlanicans where you will be safe, or you can remain here with me and play the part of "thralls"...up to you."

"Who's Erensuje?"

"An Erensuje is similar to what you would call a Basilisk."

Vara continued to meditate for some time and tried to control this effect. However, it became clear that this would take more time, so she decided she would work on it from time to time. For now, she decided to move on to practicing other things.

She psychically instructed Neysa to keep his eyes closed for the time being. Vara practiced her shapeshifting, trying to take on a few different forms, varying from regular human females to different-looking suaven.

She opened the cages, making a sweeping motion with her arms.

"Go now in peace, and tell them of Kressidia, the Wolf Queen."

Looking into the mirror, she tried to follow what Nelly said similarly to teleportation; think of where you want to go, then will that you are there.

As such, she thought of what she wanted to look like, and then willed that she was that. Her early attempts frustratingly failed to bear much fruit, save changing the skin tone of the tips of her fingers for a brief second on what seemed like her one millionth attempt. However, it was possible, it would just take some practice.

Almost every wolf ran off. A few remained, seemingly content with Kressidia, while others turned to face her, seemingly intent on killing and/or challenging her. There were four of these wolves, and - as was the way of the wolves - they first turned to face each other, fighting for the right to challenge Kressidia in a sort of tournament.

Vara was indeed frustrated; she had hoped for a little more progress since the last few times she tried shapeshifting, but something was better than nothing. With nothing else to do, she decided to continue practicing for several hours until it came time to prepare for dinner.

Practice she did, and while more progress was made, it was still not any breakthroughs like she would have hoped; every time she focused, she was merely presented with the form Iblion had changed her into on request of the Royal Emperor.

"Some sort of place...it...was strange...there was some sort of grey mist obscuring everything, and I could not tell if it was some form of cave or chamber, but whatever it was it had a noticeable effect on her." Spencer commented as he produced some decently clean rags from his pockets and began binding his wounds. "I was unaffected by it for some reason, so it is reasonable to conclude that it either only affects sorcerers, or it cannot affect those with celestial aspects to them. Which begs the question; why would Delegata imprison Alena...sorry...Ameli, in a place where she herself was tortured by the surroundings."

Alena nodded.
"It is interesting. Maybe it was a prison she suffered at the hands of the witches; perhaps it was some form of...sadistic closure for what she endured?"

******

Nelly shrugged.
"Possibly, the Aerlanicans often seem to find themselves in conflict so I wouldn't be surprised if they stumbled along...to this...planet..." She trailed off.

"Wait...How did the Aerlanicans get to that planet? did you see some of their ships go to it?"

The Empire of Tyramon

Aerlanica wrote:-snip-

Duels between wolves were relatively simple, coming down to a handful of factors: aggressiveness, strength, speed, endurance, toughness, and size. All the wolves that were fighting were rather agressive, which made sense given that they were willing to fight rather than let someone else lead. They varied in size and strength, though the smallest one of the group was also notably the fastest, able to strike and dodge with greater success, if only to lesser effect.

The fights did not last long enough for anyone to lose due to endurance, but with the winner decided amongst those who would challenge Kressidia, Kressidia knew that - by wolf custom - there was to be a rest period before the challenger faced Kressidia. Of course the challenger could not wait too long - that would be a sign of weakness and cowardice. But, the fights had been intense, and it might be hours or even a day before the challenger came forth to challenge Kressidia.

The challenger was the largest and oldest wolf out of all of them. His body was covered in scars, and he had proven to be quite resilient against the other wolves' attacks. His right eye was injured, seemingly by whatever had lacerated his face years ago, though it was uncertain whether that eye was completely blind or only severely impaired. Other than that, there was little in the way of weaknesses - at least, nothing that had been revealed in battle with the other wolves. It would be a difficult fight. Despite Kressidia's wolf form being larger than a true viper wolf, she was about the same size as this hellhound before her. Hatred filled and fueled him, and he might not spare Kressidia's life should she lose.

******

Vara released him from her psychic orders and left him to do as he pleased for now, though she nudged his mind to prefer to stay in this room. If he really wished to leave, he could, but now he was less likely to decide to do that. Vara did not want to outright control his actions too much, as that could be more suspicious, so she was relying on suggestions, on keeping him happy. After all, it was easier to tell the truth than cover it up, and it was better to get him to do as she wished by his own volition.

Vara showered and put on a nice dress, one which she had received as a gift from the other suaven. The dress was dark green and had long sleeves and a high neck. It was a short dress, leaving her tail to poke out the bottom.

Now ready for dinner, Vara went to meet with Erwin.
