Our nation began in the East Pacific, but the content of their message board was unappealing, then we received the invitation to this region. And voilà, here we are!

4/10 Surala doesn't see a reason for the general masses to decide who gets to govern them, they do not have the wherewithal to know what is a good leader to them. Though at least you are only allowing natives of you country to run. But term limits leads to unstable politics, as differing leaders have different policies, but counting every single vote, without regional seats within your nation is cumbersome and a slow process. Killing older generational citizens robs your nation of much need wisdom and skills. ID chips are important for record citizens and identifying them when needed, also makes the process of organ harvesting easier, as vital statistics are already in the system. No prisons in you country leads to higher crime, as there's no determent nor rehabilitation. Surala has tried using socialism with and without AI planning, and it is still recovering from its ill effects. Having a space program can help further human knowledge and give you opportunity to create your own military space force, in order to protect not just your nation and interests, but those of the LKE as well, coupled with conscription and WMDs, your country is a valued assent of the region.

If you weren’t already aware, Europeia is hosting a Short Story Competition, and you’re all invited! Check it out in the dispatch below:

World Book and Copyright Day

Is a celebration of the joys of reading and literature. Each year since 1995, people of all races, ethnicities, and nationalities have come together to recognize the impact books have had on human culture. April 23rd was chosen by UNESCO for a very specific reason: It is the anniversary of the deaths of some of history's most influential authors, the likes of William Shakespeare, Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, and Miguel de Cervantes. Even in the internet age, it's still important to commemorate the deaths of such titanic figures, promote literacy, stand up for equal access to knowledge, and revere creativity. That is what World Book and Copyright Day is about. While April 23rd may have come and gone, is there anything more true to the writing experience than delays? In my personal experience, I'd say no.

Rules and Information

  • Short stories should be centered around this topic: The power of storytelling. Feel free to interpret it as narrowly or broadly as you see fit, let your creativity show!

  • Submissions will open on Saturday, April 30th, 2022, at 12:00 AM Central Standard Time (CST), and will run until Tuesday, May 10th, 2022, at 12:00 AM CST.

  • Submissions should be DM-ed to SiliconVGC#5439 on Discord, TG-ed to Gemeinschaftsland, or provided in a private conversation to Gem on the Europeian off-site forums.

  • Only one story may be submitted per individual.

  • All stories must be original work. If any participants are caught plagiarizing, they will be immediately disqualified.

  • Stories may not endorse hate speech of any kind that disparages others on the basis of their race, gender, sexuality, religion, country of origin or similar circumstances.

  • Stories should endeavor to stay away from excessive profanity.

  • Stories must not include erotica.

  • As this is a short story competition, submissions must be 1,500 words or less.

  • Voting will begin after the conclusion of the submission period.

  • Voting will be held in a publicly-available area in the Europeian off-site forums. Nonetheless, registration will be required to vote.

  • The victor and runners-up will be provided with unique Writer of the Year graphics (marked with placings ofc), and hold sole bragging rights (until next year 😉).

If there are any further questions, please, contact me, Gem, via private forum conversation, telegram to Gemeinschaftsland or DM to SiliconVGC#5439!

Happy belated World Book and Copyright Day, and we can't wait to see the amazingly creative stories you all come up with!
