So glad the person elected to moderate and enforce rules, such as preventing spam which kills the group, is blatantly ignoring the rules they were elected to enforce. A great illustration of exactly why this region is honestly doomed.
I'm done. yall can find another organizer and delegate. Enjoy being an abandoned spam region.

i'm sorry it makes you feel this way, i intended it as a joke because you said "don't use 1 word responses"; i'll delete the message

"Wah wah wah people are talking in the message board and having fun!!! That isn't allowed!!!!!" Shut up buzzkill
Also guys on the topic of the minecraft server I have enough GB to host it but I'm still figuring out how to make one that isn't just local connection and using a host is a real hassle so I'm avoiding that.
You know, in theory, communism is a stateless society without coercion. I suppose you meant 'socialist state', but what would make you feel that a socialist state wouldn't have high civil rights?
On a side note, it's a shame to see the sort of toxic behavior as above in this region...
surprised carrico got pissed off about people using the message board tbh :/ hopefully they find north korea suits them better. i don't see anything wrong with using this as a place to talk and it's hardly like the board gets a great degree of traffic anyway...
I don't think it's people simply using the message board that Carrico is frustrated with. I think it's the rapidly diminishing political character of our discourse. Carrico and other comrades would like to see things become more political here, as they used to be.
I think the solution to that is for a core group of politically advanced comrades, or those interested in learning, to post here regularly. They need to make a conscious effort to do so. You will never be able to stop people from posting about game issues and the like, or from posting casually on this RMB. It's part of the game and part of life. That's something I've learned from being here for years and from actively trying to prohibit such things.
That said, there is such a thing as spam, and one word replies like "ah" don't particularly add anything to the discourse. But getting angry is not the solution, and on the other hand, it especially isn't comradely to tell people to "shut up."
While i agree somewhat with Carrico, this message board will just be dead without casual conversations, face it: when is the last time there was an actual political debate here (excluding the conservative guy)

I agree. There still should be political discussions on here. I try to post socialist related stuff every now and then, but I also like talking to people.
Debate: do you think posadis was right and aliens are all communist.

I think Posadas is probably right per that, though I'm not sure how he might amend his views towards a nuclear apocalypse were he still around.

Damn, Carrico left. Ngl I'm p sure they've been here for a while, and it's, well, surprising. And saddening. But I also understand both parts of the matter. It's important to have coherent dialogue and to share meaningful communication, but if it's at the cost that, mandating such would effectively kill all communication as no one would otherwise post, then that's no good either. I wish I'd been more active here, but life really and truly has gotten in the way. I do appreciate and share comrade's StillGate's desire to revive the region
I think a problem with having a legitimate political conversation is a matter of opsec lmao. Can't exactly handwave everything worth talking about away as "in Minecraft," p sure the feddies are onto that. Whether or not they can prove anyone has a Minecraft server and what goes on in that server is another story altogether

Serious political discussion time: what the heck is going on in Ukraine.
Bourgeoises are back for round 2; time for the cultural revolution.

Are Ukraine and Russia still messing with each other? I heard that a potential full scale war could happen in the region (ignoring the already existing skirmishes). The war is going to disintegrate into Ukrainian fascists vs. reactionary Russians. Oligarchs vs. Oligarchs. Best case scenario; the war spikes more anti-Putin sentiment, but not to an increase to pro-liberal propaganda.
Ukraine is becoming a failed state, if it is not one already. Vietnam used to be a country which had to rely on the Soviet Union for everything, even staple food, back when we were fighting against Pol Pot, but now Vietnam's GDP is 2.5 times larger than Ukraine's - a successor state of the Soviet Union, and its GDP per capita is only 10% lower than Ukraine.
Seems optimal, though I would prefer for no war so as to prevent civilian casualties as much as possible. And something tells me we wouldn't see the best-case scenario coming to pass in an open conflict. Not sure if it's just posturing or if Putin is really planning on invading. I know he's amassed over 100k troops on the border, though.

One of the many failed states that hasn't completely realized it's a failed state yet. In the works, however.
