The first Edmundian missions to support East Osajia have commenced. Imperial Navy F-18 Hornets from the carriers INS Indominable and INS Unconquerable have launched air strikes to support East Osajian ground forces. Within the coming hours, a division of Imperial Marine Corps troops will also land to support ground invasions.
In other news, the staff at the Edmundian Embassy in Osajia have finally been evacuated by Imperial Special Air Service troops. They had been barricaded inside their embassy complex since the civil war broke out. All embassy personnel have been accounted for and are safely onboard Imperial Navy ships.
The Imperial Government has formally invited Altonianic officials to meet with Reserve Bank of Edmundia officials in Gladesopolis in order to sort out this mess. The Governor of the RBE, Frank Lowes, has stated that an equal exchange rate would help boost the wider Imperial economy and lift it out of COVID recession.

This civil war is unfortunately turning into a blood bath. Not just that, it is, dare I say, turning into a proxy war! The old enemies of the Empire, the Invictan Democratic Alliance, have apparently been funding Communist North Osajia (Minosa). Ever since the end of the Invictan-Edmundian War, there has been a cold war between the newly invigorated Edmundian Empire, and the practically destroyed Invicta. If North Osajia wins the civil war, than Invicta will have a new, powerful ally. Osajia has the biggest military of any independent nation outside of Great Edmundia!
The Chairman of the OAINR (Of Altonianic Islands Nation Reserve), Mick Mnuchin has stated that he supports this move. In fact, he even supports going so far as to tie the two currency together, in an economic sense; make the two interchangeable entirely. Have Wealth Tokens be usable in Great Edmundia, and have Great Edmundian Royals be accepted in the Islands. Have the names only differentiate for the sake of politics and national pride. Also, screw Opressea's new currency. Furthermore, this will strengthen the resolve of all citizens and affiliated nations of the Empire in the growing cold war between the Empire and Invicta.

These new revelations have seriously concerned the Imperial Government - so much so that the deployment supporting East Osajia has been increased. A second division of Imperial Marines have been committed, as well as two Imperial Army divisions. However, Gladesopolis has also expressed its intention for Osajia to not become a quagmire.
The details have been planned out for an official finance conference between the two finance executives to meet in Gladesopolis next week to work out the finer details...however, it does seem very likely this move will go ahead.
(Hmmm...that should give us loads of time to do a drawn-out election campaign. Also, should the civil war be a really-drawn out conflict as well?)

BREAKING NEWS FROM VOTERIA
The final Edmundian troops were due to be withdrawn from New Voteria last month. However, a surge in insurgent violence over the past couple of weeks has thrown a spanner in the works for the plans of the Imperial Armed Forces. The latest attack occurred this morning, in which a maternity clinic in the Voteria capital of Bagmum was destroyed by a suicide bomber, claiming the lives of 14 women and 7 health workers. There is also no national Voterian government in place yet, and Edmundian military officials are still running most of the country. There are about 30,000 Imperial troops currently deployed in Voteria at the moment.
The Islandsian government has gone for the sneakier route; they have overthrown the fascist government of West Osajia, and set up a Islandsian client state. This is in following with the Islandsian military doctrine of "Coup first, ask questions later."
(Sorry, haven't been able to get on the past few days. The civil war was meant to be shortish, but I love the idea of it being a proxy war. It can last as long as you want it to.)
The East Osajian government has had enough; With the overthrow of the West Osajian government, and the shrinking of the Second Sultanate of Osajia's territory, the war is mostly over, with the borders drawn. The East Osajian government is now advocating for the partition of the nation, with the far north being given to North Osajia (Minosa), and the remainder given to West Osajia (Osajia). The government of Minosa has agreed to these terms, and a peace summit is being held in Dhabi-Sultoon, recently taken from the Second Sultanate.
With peace discussions now in effect, largely due to Great Edmundian intervention in the Second Sultanate, and the overthrow of the West Osajian government by the Islands, the East Osajian government has requested that Great Edmundia reduce it's peace keeping force by half.
With the new independence from the opressive regime of Osajia, Minosa has enacted resounding civil liberty proposals. This has turned the northernmost province of Osajia from a beaten down province under oppressive rule into a nation with the second highest civil rights and political rights in the entire Empire. Their independence has also resulted in a boon for the local economy, with an uptick of roughly 7.3% in a single day. Meanwhile, in Osajia, where civil liberties are rated at less than half of Minosa, the economy has further collapsed. Fortunately for them, things are getting better, as those statistics are largely from the prior government. However, Minosa should provide an example to Osajia as to how they can turn away from their past authoritarian roots.

Also with the independence of Minosa, the Democratic Alliance has scored a victory over the Empire, however Minosa could easily become far more intertwined with the Empire if they give foreign aid to Minosa along with Osajia . . .
Since the civil war has ended, Osajia must decide on a new leader. Due to the fact that the civil war was caused by the opportunistic parties who lost the Sultan election several months ago, at this point in time all parties other than the DPP have been suspended. Furthermore, term limits have also been suspended. Interim President Abdul al Saud has taken power, and is expected to win the presidential election in two days. There are no other candidates in the presidential election, other than Rashi bin Saluud, who has been arrested as a traitor. If al Saud wins the election, under the Constitution that was ratified earlier today, he will serve as President for life.
In compliance with the East Osajian Government's wishes, the 2nd Imperial Marines Division and the 21st Airborne Imperial Army Division have been withdrawn. The 1st Imperial Marine Division will remain for peacekeeping. The Imperial Navy Seventh Fleet will also remain in Osajian waters to provide carrier-based air support...

In a step towards the recognition of Minosa as a sovereign state, the Imperial Government has flagged possibly opening diplomatic relations with the new country...
