Changing names is frequently requested, but according to the developers it is impossible because of how the game was coded. To introduce such a feature they would have to rewrite the entire game. Honestly, if you want to change name, just make a new nation. If you are roleplaying and not playing for the stats, a single nation is not really valuable.
