I mean we can't just use tariffs as a silver bullet, we have to invest in local production, make sure it's competitive and sustainable, and regulate free trade so that we can ensure it's of a high quality and made sustainably and without child labour.

The bill review is in full swing so expect a lot of legislation this week. First off is the new ministerial non partisanship bill, there's some more clarifications on what that means and punishments for violating it.

This bill will enact into law the non-partisanship of the Head Justice and Minister of Roleplay.

Section 1

The positions of Head Justice and Minister of Role-Play shall now be elected in a non-partisan manner. Being elected in a non-partisan manner is defined as the absence of a political party on the election polls for these ministries, even if candidates are members of a political party.

Section 2

Candidate's campaigns must take place in a non-partisan manner and candidates will not have a political party next to their name on the election poll. Political parties are forbidden from endorsing candidates for these ministries, and the HJ will be charged with delivering a proper punishment to involved parties. The HJ may not punish an entire political party, only the leadership. If the HJ is implicated, another uninvolved member of the council of state shall deliver the punishment. Individual nations are allowed to campaign for and endorse candidates as they please.

Section 3

Candidates running for HJ and MoRP will continue to be allowed to be a member of a regional political party, however during their time in cabinet they will act as an independent. Acting as an independent is defined as making decisions without partisan bias such as appointments and rulings.
