ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), also known as the Third Republic of ASEAN, is the oldest ASEAN/Southeast Asian-themed region in NationStates, first established in 2003. In contemporary history, there have been three incarnations of ASEAN since 2013. Currently, the region is in its fifth administration, established in September 2019. Throughout the entirety of its existence, ASEAN has always been a democracy ruled by the people for the people.
