*Very not to scale. AI Generated. Ignore the little weird details, those are AI artifacts. Just focus on the big picture here: Middle=sand&supplies, river, six unique zones.*
37 tributes suddenly find themselves each inside of a glass box, arranged in a circle of 37 glass boxes. (Don't count the boxes in the above image, the AI can't get it right!)
Between them, a sandy area, filled with supplies and weapons to be collected... or fought over.
Behind them, a thin and shallow yet rapid river that must be crossed to get off the sandy island they're starting on.
Beyond the river, six different zones.
First, the Enchanted Forest Zone. Large trees, floating wisps, and possible Fae magic in its depths.
Clockwise from the Enchanted Forest Zone is the Cyberpunk Zone, with neon lights and futuristic buildings.
Third, the Cave Maze Zone. A large mountain, with a maze of caves to get lost in.
The Haunted Zone. A spooky haunted house surrounded by a dark graveyard.
The Toy Block Zone. Colorful, filled with large simple shapes.
Finally, on the other side of the Enchanted Forest Zone, the Castle Zone. A huge castle with tall towers and an overall medieval theme.
All of these zones present challenges, unique rewards for exploration, and possible dangers, including ambush opportunities from other tributes.
A countdown begins... the glass boxes are about to open on the front and back, for the tributes to choose to run away... or run towards the supplies, weapons, and each other. What will they do? There is just enough time to form a quick plan, or for the tributes to look around and figure out who might be potential allies... or enemies.
The tributes have been randomly placed (sort of, I re-rolled when two tributes from the same nation were too close to each other). This order starts in front of the Enchanted Forest Zone, and goes clockwise. Actually, it's a circle, so it also ends in front of the Enchanted Forest Zone, with Ruby seeing Nikke Pärmi 2.0 immediately to the right, if looking towards the center.
Image | Tribute | |
| Ruby | Ruby looks around at the nearby tributes, and sees several who seem to be without honor, and more who would be serious threats. Nikke Pärmi 2.0 seems like an obvious threat, Waluigi looks stereotypically evil... but worst of all, John Pork three spots to the left has a certain murderous look. He must be dealt with as soon as possible. Gordal Bronzetide is considered as a possible ally, but Gordal isn't interested in an alliance. |
| Waluigi | Immediately starts taunting Apollo Creed just because he can. Feeling confident because this area looks like a Mario Party board, his specialty. Taunts Gordal Bronzetide as a coward, but Gordal just ignores him. |
| Surrounded by dangerous looking tributes, he is considering doing what he does best: Running and hiding, letting these monsters destroy each other in the meantime. He hears someone asking for an alliance, but he doesn't trust anyone here. | |
| John Pork | Wants to get a weapon as soon as possible. Those two weak looking tributes on each side of him look like good first targets... it's about time that more of the world hears the name: JOHN PORK! Be sure to like and subscribe! John notes the Castle Zone is oddly familiar, but will prioritize eliminations over a photo op, for now. |
| Jar Jar Binks | *Is saying annoying things in an annoying voice, drawing hostility from all nearby tributes annoyingly* |
| Selene, The Moon Goddess | Spots a unique weapon in the center. Intends to grab it and get out without interacting with anyone else. ...at least that's her scripted action. Having been placed next to Jar Jar Binks, she is considering going off script for a moment to eliminate him first. |
| Araminta Viarritz | The nearby tributes cannot be trusted... she can only trust her own abilities here. One weapon, one supply pack, then an escape to the Cyberpunk Zone. |
| Eirin Yagokoro | Immediately determines that the nearby Selene, The Moon Goddess is not a Lunarian, just an ordinary human. In fact, the lack of lunar energy, or magic of any kind, seems to be inexplicably rendering an eternal being like her exactly as powerful as all of these children here. How convenient! Still, her intelligence is intact, and she begins to form a plan to grab one of those odd looking "melee" weapons that doesn't just spew slow moving bullets everywhere, and then get out. |
| Deputy Trudy Wiegel | Has a rather poor record of figuring out who is dangerous and who isn't. Intends to just grab the nearest weapon and start attacking. |
| Treebeard | Looks behind to see the Cyberpunk Zone and the Cave Maze Zone. Would rather retreat to the Enchanted Forest Zone, and intends to circle around in that direction before retreating. Would have preferred having significantly more time to consider this, these younger races are trying to do things too quickly. |
| Doesn't spot any poison weapons nearby. Thinks she got lucky to be near weak tributes, and intends to get a weapon before retreating to the Cave Maze Zone. | |
| Pomni | Initially panics at finding herself in a completely new universe again. Notices a few other colorful beings that might be like her, but they are far away. Settles for an alliance with Orlando and Dolores Umbridge, hoping Orlando will be like Kinger, though she is a little worried that Dolores Umbridge might be controlling like Caine... |
| Orlando | Intends to protect those nearby, and creates an alliance with Pomni and Dolores Umbridge. Fails to ally with Harvey Nunez, who seems to be uninterested in alliances. Intended to get supplies first, but is considering immediate escape with his new allies. |
| Dolores Umbridge | For hidden reasons, accepts an alliance with Pomni and Orlando, but continues to look around for stronger allies to depend on later. One look at "Rowdy" Roddy Piper though, and she decides that he is an unworthy pest to be eliminated, like a certain other troublemaking student. |
| Harvey Nunez | Relatively unconcerned compared to the others nearby, he intends to get a weapon, then immediately go off to explore the nearby Cave Maze Zone or Haunted Zone, those places look exciting! |
| Sigrun Sagasdóttir | Seeing an alliance forming on one side, and strong fighters on the other, she starts strategizing with Agent Phil Coulson to go for the best items in the center together. Harvey Nunez is not seen as a notable threat at the moment, but will be watched. |
| Agent Phil Coulson | Seeing an alliance forming on one side, and strong fighters on the other, he starts strategizing with Sigrun Sagasdóttir to go for the best items in the center together. Thinks that Meta Knight might be a hero because of the mask, but Meta Knight is not interested in an alliance. |
| Notes that another swordsman, Ademar William Wardenus "Pakitsk", is nearby, and marks him as his primary target. Is pleased that so many strong warriors are nearby, though this opening phase might not be best for his desired 1v1 duel. | |
| "Rowdy" Roddy Piper | Tries to form a tag team with Meta Knight, but he isn't interested. He notices Dolores Umbridge looking at him with disgust and wonders if that's Ric Flair's wife, might have to knock her out with a Sleeper Hold. Has no idea what to think about being next to Fred, but has bad memories of that infamous "Dog Collar Match" with Greg Valentine. |
| Fred | Fred is pretty much just panicking and pawing at the glass door to get away, even if that means running straight to the scary Haunted Zone. |
| Xena | Seeing a dog nearby gives Xena bad memories of Horace, though this one clearly has no relation to Ares. Valk seems a worthy challenge for later, though she is also wary of Drow Ranger looking at her the way Ilainus did, that pawn of Artemis. |
| Valk | Valk looks around for weak tributes who need protection and sees... Fred. And Milton Waddams. Protecting the tiny scared dog and a distracted looking office worker could be... a challenge. Perhaps the nearby Toy Block Zone would be a good place to gather an alliance of underdogs, after grabbing some supplies and weapons first. |
| Milton Waddams | *Mumbling about something. Looks around the center for a certain item, but doesn't seem to see it there. Further intentions unclear* |
| Disappointed by the weak looking tributes to his sides. Would rather fight the strongest this Hunger Games has to offer. Notes Meta Knight looks like he wants a duel, but Ademar doesn't play favorites and intends to cut down everybody who gets in his way. | |
| Velma Dinkley | Is interested in investigating the semi-nearby Haunted Zone or Castle Zone. Intends to grab some supplies before running out to one of those. |
| Tristan, The Immortal Hunter | Spots a unique weapon in the center. Intends to grab it and get out without interacting with anyone else. |
| Pearl | Forms a quick alliance with Drow Ranger. Looks at Velma Dinkley as a potential easy first target. Eager to grab several nearby weapons. |
| Drow Ranger | Forms a quick alliance with Pearl. Attempts to ally with Crash Bandicoot, but he isn't paying attention. Sees Xena and doesn't like the look of her. Bad memories of Legion Commander challenging her to duels. Best to get someone dangerous like that out of her lane. |
| *Intent unclear, he just does a silly dance until the countdown finishes* | |
| Oliver Finn | Has no idea what to think about Crash Bandicoot to his right, but the city dweller to his left seems dependable enough. Forms an alliance with Eclipse, feeling safer going in for some supplies before retreating to the Castle Zone, though he would rather be in that city zone on the other size of the arena. |
| Eclipse | Thinks she got lucky with her placement, but is having trouble trusting anyone. Accepts alliance offers from Oliver Finn and Rainbow Dash, but is unsure why she was just called "Fluttershy". |
| Kagome Higurashi | Sees the nearby Castle Zone and wonders if she got pulled into another time period again. Will try to find a weapon she can quickly learn to use before retreating. Accepts an offer of alliance from Naomi Islan, hoping she'll be like Sango. |
| Naomi Islan | Immediately forms a tactical alliance with Kagome Higurashi, then starts looking for a weapon to grab before retreating to the Castle Zone to plan her next move. |
| Rainbow Dash | Extremely excited to see all the competitive tributes nearby, asking everypony if they are ready for this. More than ready to rush in and get this started. Forms an early alliance with Eclipse, who seems to be confused about why she was just called "Fluttershy", and Oliver Finn. |
| Apollo Creed | Never was good at ignoring taunts, and Waluigi keeps yelling at him. Never liked running away from a fight either, so he intends to stick and move in the bloodbath and take out the other tributes, especially Waluigi, yet another Italian rival. |
| Queen Elizabeth II | Wanted to start out by immediately forming several alliances, but frustrated that she was randomly placed near tributes who don't want to join her United Tributes alliance. She intends to hold back and think of another way to form a grand alliance under her leadership that will stretch from one side of the arena to the other. |
| Nikke Pärmi 2.0 | Starting in a prison, on a new battlefield? Nothing Nikke Pärmi 2.0 can't handle. So, one of the Reds even appears to be next to him. While on the other side, some British queen who has no idea what it's like to keep back the Soviets, and... Apollo Creed actually has fought one of the Reds before? Respect. Perhaps he can brand that rainbow horse over there with a V to become one of the new Pärmi's Devils. |

Player Feuds Declared
Ruby declares a one sided feud against John Pork
Meta Knight declares a one sided feud against Ademar William Wardenus "Pakitsk"
(That's it? The 2nd Annual Aethelian Hunger Games will probably have more modifiers to choose from, yet Feud may be dropped due to lack of interest. Oh well, this first Hunger Games is experimental after all. Have to see what works and what doesn't so the next one can be bigger and better.)
NPC Feuds Declared
Waluigi will feud with Apollo Creed
Dolores Umbridge will feud with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper
Drow Ranger declares a one sided feud against Xena
Until specified otherwise, all tributes will automatically act the way that I think they would based on the information provided at signup, or based on what I've learned since signup for existing fictional characters (I watched the movie Pearl, watched some youtube videos of the best of Rainbow Dash, read the Wikipedia article on Nikke Pärmi, watched the entire Amazing Digital Circus, read the knowyourmeme page for John Pork, etc). There is no requirement for participation after the signup, you can just watch from this point on. However, if you have input on how this RP is going, or you want to give some direction for what your tributes will do next, then this is the time to provide that input. Every week, at the end of the dispatch, I'll give an approximation of what I think every remaining tribute wants to do in the next phase, but it's possible that with 37 tributes to consider that there will be room for improvement, or you'll just want to try something different, so telegram me and I'll adjust what your tributes try to do next. It'll just be their direction at the start of the phase though, unexpected things can still happen. Just know that input like "My tribute will eliminate this certain other tribute" will be more like "My tribute will TRY to eliminate this other tribute". They could fail and get eliminated themselves, or not even find that tribute if yours doesn't know where the other tribute is (after the first phase anyway, everybody can see everybody now before the start). Input does not mean that your tribute will gain information or an advantage that they shouldn't have on their own. It's more of a nudge towards a certain goal for either roleplay or humor reasons.
