LDU | Role-Play Rules

ROLE-PLAY RULES

I. General Rules

The rules listed below are the most important roleplay rules of all. Just don't violate the rules below, and you'll be fine.

1 - Use the "RP" tag

In order to differentiate a roleplay move from a casual message out of roleplay (OOC), add "RP" on top of your message every time you make a roleplay move. Use OOC if you wanted to add an out of roleplay explanation in a rp message, since all messages are counted as OOC by auto if you don't include the "RP" tag. "IC" tag can also be used as the substitution of the "RP" tag.

2 - Be realistic, rational, and reasonable.

Please keep in mind that each country has its own limit; you cannot have unlimited money or an army with an illogical number of people. Furthermore, you may not declare war for reasons unrelated to the roleplay. When doing something, such as invading a country, consider factors such as logistics and geographical location. You can always ask the Role-Play Director for recommendations, feedback, or questions.

3 - Most importantly, have fun!

Have fun while doing roleplay. Let that creative mind flow in! Why do you think we have roleplay here?

II. Lore and Maps

These rules were created in response to disputes regarding ceased-to-exist nations that were revived and demanded their lands back.

4 - Be consistent.

While the human brain and thinking constantly change over time, please be consistent with your roleplay; you can request the Director of Role-Play to "void" them or cancel them by just deleting them, but even then don't do it too often.

5 - Ceased-to-Exist Nations (CTE)

The lore of CTE nations shall be automatically deemed "voided" within 60 days after the nation CTE. Unless the Director of Role-Play or atleast 3 player objects, in which case players may vote not to delete them. This rule does not apply if a nation that is on map already decided to invade the land the CTE nation once occupies after the nation CTE.

6 - Reclaiming CTE Nations

You may reclaim the former land your nation once occupy if your nation CTE and these terms are fulfilled;
1) Your nation CTE before the 60 days rule.
2) No nation claimed your former land.

7 - Map claims and nations rights

Nations that have claimed land in the roleplay map shall have their claim automatically removed after 60 days of inactivity at the discretion of the cartographer, no exceptions or excuses are allowed. And all nations are equal, regardless of their position in government or whatever in this regard.

And regarding nation claims, before a nation can claim a land in the map, that nation must state that "I have read and agree to the roleplay rules" in the RMB, for legal reasons.

III. Void and Unrealistic Moves

"So... what's this 'void' thingy you mentioned?"
I'm glad you asked.
Void basically means that your move is cancelled, and basically, your move never happened. That's it! It might be super useful if your lore demands fixing, but it can be super annoying because the move you spent your love on is just gone, which is why we regulated its use!

8 - Void Use

Only the Director of Role-Play may void a roleplay move, but it can be overridden by a simple majority vote from the players. Automatic void said in rule number 6 is exempted from this rule.

9 - Grounds for Void

Outside of things mentioned above that can be voided, these are things that are grounds for a void:
1) No Godmodding, duh.
Stop ruining fun for others here, smh.
2) Not enough detail.
While toleration for short roleplay moves is essential, a one-sentence roleplay move that lacks even the simplest details is basically garbage that will raise questions regarding its unrealistic condition. For example, "Skelleftella raises its taxes." Yes, you raise your taxes, but for whom? At what rate? Why were the tax rates raised? And what kind of taxes? And so on, so on, and so on. Keep those moves high-quality, and don't worry about time. I don't think you need more than 60 days to write up a move that consists of five sentences or more that explain what happened.

10 - Continuous use of unrealistic moves

"What if I just decide to be stupid and continously make unrealistic moves?"
Please don't. Even though your rights to rp is guaranteed in the constitution, and it's almost impossible for you to get kicked out of roleplay, please do remember we have informal convention and this rule set in place.

IV - Wars, Conflicts and Other Details Regarding Roleplay

Ah yes, classic. As usual, humans are sometimes irrational (and unintelligent), as we can be consumed by emotions and many other factors, so obviously, rule number 2 won't always work to everyone, so set of rules below are setted up to regulate conflicts.

11 - You can't go to war with a nation without the consent of your target nation.

Wars must be fought with valid, rationally realistic reasons with explicit permission from the target nation.

12 - You cannot kill another leader of a nation or interfering with domestic affairs of a nation without the consent of your target nation

13 - No metagaming

You may not use knowledge another nations decide to not disclose without their consent.

Oh yeah, also if you needed the Director of Role-Play or their moderation because you think that a nation do something unrealistic, or they are doing something violating the rules, you can always telegram or mention them in your post in RMB. Have a good day and enjoy your time roleplaying! So remember, if things get messy, always say...
