What is Defending?

Defending is the act of using World Assembly membership -- via a puppet nation -- to block efforts by raiding organizations that are aimed at disrupting or toppling native governments in foreign regions. Raiders will seek to gain power by seizing executive WA Delegacies in regions across the world. We try to stop them. Defending operations sometimes include liberations of regions occupied by raider armies. Defending armies surveil known raiders for suspicious activity. If a raiding operation is detected, defenders will mirror the movements of raiders in an attempt to protect the regions targeted by their commanders.

What is Evergreen Battalion?

Evergreen Battalion is Declansburg's voluntary military detachment. We operate in coordination with other defenders across the world -- most notably the forces of The League, known as the LDF. We engage in liberations and defending operations and will sometimes authorize participation in raids if the targeted region is either fascist or a known sponsor of fascism.

How does war work in gameplay? Who can participate?

Gameplay warfare in NationStates is called raiding and defending. Raiding is the act of attaining the WA Delegacy in a region for the purpose of seizing control by military force. This is done by endorsing a pre-determined nation, often in a jump point, and moving into target region immediately before twice daily WA updates tally endorsements in a region. While raiding is the act of seizing a delegacy, ideally with executive powers, defending is the act of trying to prevent these occurrences. Anyone can participate in raiding and defending.

What You Need to Know ...

Game rules (seen here) state that players cannot control more than one WA nation at a time. The Battalion is able to engage in operations by carefully resigning the WA status for our main nations -- also known as primary nations -- before switching it to a puppet state. Then, with our WA puppet nations, we engage in defending operations from regions designated for military purposes known as "jump points."

To get involved with Evergreen Battalion join our Declansburg's Discord server and express your interest to one of our commanding officers! All staging, preparation and orders for military operations are issued from Discord, so membership in our server is a must!
