The Vël Armenyi Massacre

As war raged on between the Kingdoms of Oruzia and Sulasburg, the war began to enter a stand still with Oruzia demanding a quick surrender and Sulasburg being to stubborn to do so. Eventually a prosperous coastal city of Sulasburg, Vël Armenyi came under siedge ordered by the Oruzian forces. Nothing but shelling of shores came from it, the Sulas in the town organized a commune and mobilized militias along side the regular army to defend the city.

As the option of surrender for Sulasburg gradually became impossible the Oruzian army had to find a way to crush their morale. The Oruzian army would end up choosing the city of Vël Armenyi as it was seen in the eyes of all Sulas and anti-Oruzians as an icon against Oruzian imperialism, if the Oruzian forces where to conquer it the morale of Sulasburg will faid and be replaced with despair... or at least that was the idea...

* The command by the Oruzian HQ was given, war the people of Vël Armenyi that an attack will come and that any who do not surrender will be viewed as enemy soldiers. As for the Oruzian army stationed there, they where to prepear for an amphibious assault on the city and to prepear for a brutall guerila fighting to beguin.

* The Oruzian artillery was given orders to bombard any building they deem fit a target and or any building commanded by the HQ to be destroyed. Same order was given to the Royal Air Force.

The order was given to all units and an assault on the island/city began... little did anyone know that this act in history will be remembered as a massacre.

The brutal bombardment of the city killed off 35% of the population, air strikes from all around terrorised the population and the desperete defenders making it impossible to form a coheseve defence leaving only the option to hide in the rubble and hope for the best.
In a few hours the whole city was on fire as the Sulan army and militia desperetly tried to defend their land but to no prevail.
After the gruesome bombardment campaign came the Oruzian infantry, fighting a brutal house to house battle with the enemy. The querila warfare they where facing forced the Oruzians to use more brutal methods to fight, treating any civilian as a enemy soldier.
Both sides became desperate over time, the army and militia forcefully mobilized civilians into their ranks whilst the Oruzian army gunned down any suspected militia.

The battle lasted for days not stoping at any moment, the people and the army on the Sulan side seeing that their food suply is beond low and that they dont have any more clean water to drink have decided to surrender to the invading Oruzians who have promissed them food, water and protection.
Many however didn't stop fighting the Oruzians and so many incidents of attacks and civilians being confused for the resistance militias killed on sight.

Not exect numbers are known but it is estemeted that around 50% to 60% of the population was lost whilst the Oruzian infantry forces faced a 40% loss.
The Sulan population is now under process of being evaquated to refugee camps controled and maintained by international volountiers and the Red Cross.
The defeated Sulas where now mocked by the Oruzian troops with all kinds of slurs thrown at them, the troops regualry shouted "All Hail Greater Oruzia! Death to Sulasburg!".

The Vël Armenyi Massacre has now become the most brutal battle of this war with the most estimated civilian casulties and industrial/urban destruction this war has seen. May God bless the fallen.
