The AOA has existed off and on since the late 19th century, often being subject to heavy repression throughout its existence. The modern incarnation of the party can be traced to 2032. Though initially quite small, it would soon gain in popularity in the face of growing corruption and wealth inequality. The party draws heavily on support from organized labour and is well known for its advocacy of collective action. This most famously occurred in the events leading up to the Rose Revolution, where the AOA-led Andropen General Strike played a major role in ousting the regime.
Since the revolution, the AOA has waned in strength. While still a major player in Akarusian politics and organized labour - continuing to organize successful labour actions - it no longer holds the degree of power it wielded in previous decades.

The Union Démocratique is one of the oldest extant political parties in Akarus. The party was first formed in 1874, primarily in response to the collapse of the previous Parti Libéral, eventually becoming Akarus' dominant liberal party. Throughout much of the 20th century it often alternated power with the conservative opposition, however, its power would slowly be threatened by the rise of the Parti Socialiste.
The party would be shaken to its core during the Rose Revolution. While less affected than its conservative counterparts, many prominent members of the party would be ousted from power, with the left faction of the party taking power. Since the revolution, the party has been struggling to reassert its identity. The party presents itself as a moderating force in Akarusian politics, continuing to advocate liberal values while still supporting the progressive coalition.

The Parti Progressiste-Conservateur emerged in the years following the Rose Revolution. The Alliance Nationale is often called the counter-revolutionary party in Akarus. After the collapse of the old Parti Conservateur during the Rose Revolution, much of the remaining leadership of the party rallied under the banner of the Alliance Nationale The party positioned itself in opposition to the post-revolutionary government, calling for many of its reforms to be undone. While this has often led to mixed electoral results, the party continues to endure and has stabilized its support in recent elections.

  • Political Position: Far-right

  • Coalition: Nationalist

  • Colour(s): Dark Blue

Long a fringe element in Akarus, the Parti Nationaliste has seen a surge in the last decade as a radical response to the Rose Revolution. Its beliefs are often inconsistent, but it often pushes an ethnonationalist agenda and is violently opposed to modern Akarusian progressive politics.
