The Military Forces of the United Realms (Spanish: Fuerzas Militares de los Reinos Unidos) are the military forces of the United Realms of Oronia. The military forces consist of seven service branches: the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Common Corps, and Crown Guard. While the Crown holds supreme command of the Military Forces, the President of the United Realms is second in command. The president forms military policy with the Defense Ministry, acting as the principal organ by which military policy is carried out. All seven services are among the eight uniformed services of the United Realms.

Structure

In Title I, Article III of the Royal Charter, the Crown holds supreme command over the United Realms Military Forces. The president assists in the command of the United Realms Military Forces, as stated in Title II, Article II. Thus, the Crown is Supreme Commander of the Military Forces; the President, upon inauguration, is Captain-General of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, and Common Corps.

The military chain of command flows from the Crown to the president to the defense minister, ensuring civilian control of the military. Within the Defense Ministry, the military departments – the Department of the Army, Department of the Navy, and Department of the Air Force – are civilian-led entities that oversee the coequal military service branches organized within. The military departments and services are responsible for organizing, training, and equipping forces.

Military Forces Council

The Military Forces Council (Spanish: Consejo de las Fuerzas Militares, CFM), although outside the operational chain of command, is the senior-most military body in the military forces. It is led by the Chairman and Vice Chairman, who are the military heads of the military forces and principal advisors to the president and defense ministry on military matters. Other members include the Chief of Staff of the Army, Chief of Naval Operations, Commandant of the Marine Corps, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Chief of Space Operations, and Captain-General of the Crown Guard. All members, excluding the Captain-General who is solely appointed by the Crown, are appointed by the President with Senate and Crown approval.

The chairman of the CFM is a four-star officer and, by law, is the highest-ranking military officer of the United Realms Military Forces, and the principal military adviser to the president. They lead the meetings and coordinates the efforts of the CFM. The chairman outranks all service chiefs but does not maintain authority over them or their branches. The current chairman is General Rodrigo Gonzalez Lopez, who began his tenure on 21 January 2021.

The vice chairman is a four-star officer and, by law, is the second highest-ranking member of the United Realms Military Forces. In the absence of the chairman, the vice chairman presides over the meetings of the CFM. They may also perform such duties as the chairman may prescribe. The current vice chairman is Admiral Gerardo Ramirez Ortiz, who began his tenure on 21 January 2021.

The General Staff is a headquarters staff, composed of personnel from each of the five service branches, that assists the chairman and the vice chairman in discharging their responsibilities and is managed by the Director of the General Staff, a three-star officer. Reporting to the director are eight directors, who are three-star officers:

    - Director of Command, Control, Communications, and Computers
    - Director of Force Structure, Resources, and Assessment
    - Director of Intelligence
    - Director of Joint Force Development
    - Director of Management
    - Director of Manpower and Personnel
    - Director of Operations
    - Director of Strategy, Plans, and Policy
