All Things Must End

Greetings Imperials,

I am stepping down from the position of World Assembly Delegate of Warzone Sandbox.

I know, it seems sudden, but with the recent raid it seemed like a time to make a change, and this is one of the things that I decided needed to change. I have lead Warzone Sandbox for many years, and many of you, as well as many people from the other Warzones have never known a time when I was not at the helm of Warzone Sandbox. However, this is a change that I deem necessary for the future of the Warzone, and the Empire as a whole.

Long ago when I first became delegate, I did not think I would last a week, and then I did, and I was sure that I'd be removed from office before I hit the one year mark, but I wasn't. More time passed, and throughout it all I surpassed every goal I set for myself, breaking record and smashing expectations. The success of my tenure at the helm of Warzone Sandbox has even helped to change the way people think about the Warzones, they have gone from being pariah states, existing on the fringe of NationStates to being a part of the conversation, with defenders actively defending them and raiders having to contend with their opposites if they want to take them, and with many regions willing to help restore our native governments, which is a drastic shift from the prevailing, and erroneous, belief of a few years ago that Warzones could not have natives.

As I broke records and achieved the goals I set out for myself, I got to a point where there were few goals left for me to set, and eventually I'd completed them all. There is not much left for me to achieve as delegate of Warzone Sandbox, and what few things there are that I could do, I just quite simply do not have the energy or drive to accomplish, almost three years without a good night's sleep will do that to you; and so it is time to let others take the wheel and lead the Warzone. While I take on other roles in, and apply myself in other areas of, the region.

To that end, Phastia will be stepping in as a delegate for the region. She is an experienced hand at leading Warzones through transitional periods and has done so many times in the past, and accordingly I have given her the title "Duchess of the Sands". I will retain my position as God-Emperor of the Warzone Empire, and will be available to offer advice and answer questions.

To those of you who have been with us for all this time, I want to say thank you. You are the heart and soul of our region. To those of you who have joined us more recently, you are our future, and I look forward to seeing what we will accomplish together. If you are endorsing me, I would ask now that you withdraw your endorsement from me, and give it instead to Phastia, to ensure a smooth and safe transition.

These past few years have been a pleasure, and I look forward to what the next ones will bring.
