Information for World Assembly Voters: Security Council Dispatch
This proposal would declare ""Hippos are not necessarily very large."" It is in response to Security Council Resolution #361, the ""Declaration On Hippopotamuses"" which declares ""Hippos are really very large."" The proposal argues hippos are small while they are babies, and that hippos are relatively small in comparison to most things in life such as mountains and planets, and therefore WA legislation should be more precise when declaring hippo size. The proposal builds on the long standing joke within the WA community dating back to 2003 when the then NS-UN voted on a resolution titled ""HIPPOS ARE REALLY QUITE LARGE"", which resolution #361 pays tribute to.
Ministry Analysis:
While many may find the ""hippos are large"" joke funny, there is little need for another resolution paying tribute to the joke when resolution #361 already adequately does this. The proposal is unnecessary and is extremely similar to other failed proposals which also attempted to build upon the joke. Therefore, the World Assembly Affairs Ministry recommends a vote AGAINST this proposal.
