This was done to prevent the RMB of the South Pacific from becoming clogged up with RP discussions. You don't have to move to Knowhere, just visit its RMB and, so long as you have a nation in the South Pacific, you can post there![/p] [h2]How to RP there?[/h2] [p]There is no official or right way to get involved in Knowhere and Psomewhere over the rainbow roleplays. But you can do various things, such as asking if anyone wants to roleplay on [url=https://www.nationstates.net/page=display_region_rmb/region=the_south_pacific]the South Pacific’s RMB[/url] (although it is requested that you would take RP to Knowhere or Psomewhere Over the Rainbow itself). [p]You could also ask some of the roleplayers if you could join their roleplay, or just start your own RP. It could be about anything. [/list] [/list] [/p] [h2]How to RP in the Main canon?[/h2] [p]Firstly, here are a few things you need to know about our canon RP: It is a modern-tech nation RP. That means that your nation has to have a similar level of technology to existing nations in the world today - no fantasy magic or time travel or intergalactic spaceships, save those for RPs in Extra-Canon (For how to join those, check [url=#G]these guides[/url]).[/p] [p]Our players appreciate a high level of verisimilitude, where possible, so try to make your nation believable. For example, if you have a nation in the Antarctic circle, don't expect it to be highly populous with a booming agricultural industry.[/p] [p]Roleplaying in is primarily conducted through the following means: [list] [*]One-on-one events and roleplays ([url=#MC]Main Canon[/url]). [*]News posts by posting brief one or two sentence bulletins in the [url=https://tspforums.xyz/thread-2265.html]Flash News[/url] thread, through messaging on [url=https://tspforums.xyz/thread-2899.html]Stream[/url] which is inspired by Twitter or create your own News Network ([url=#M]Media[/url]). [*]International events, Embassy threads and joining the World Forum ([url=#D]Diplomacy[/url]). [*]Factbook-style threads and answering surveys ([url=#F]Facts[/url]). [/list][/p] [p]Our activity levels can vary. A good RPer can drum up enthusiasm around an event, but also be patient to work with other's schedules.[/p] [p]Before you join in in the Main Canon you will need to claim a plot on the [url=#R]Regional Map[/url]. The map is currently updated monthly by our Cartographer, [nation]Sedunn[/nation] (Qwert), but, so long as your nation is in the South Pacific and you haven't claimed someone else's plot, you can assume your request has been accepted and begin roleplaying your nation from that plot.[/p] [p]A good way to start RPing is to post a general overview or factbook of your nation as it stands in that plot. By either making your own thread in Facts or posting in [url=https://tspforums.xyz/thread-7665.html]the Permanent National Survey[/url].[/p] [p]Consider believable population densities based on your nation's size (a list of the area of each plot [url=https://tspforums.xyz/thread-46-post-391.html#pid391]can be found here[/url]). Compare the area and topography with that of real nations ([url=https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_and_dependencies_by_area]on Wikipedia, for example[/url]) and you can come up with something believable pretty easily. You can also work out believable levels of resources and industry and a GDP to match, although it's fair to say that we tend to tweak our GDP's so they are always in the range of more developed nations.[/p] [p]It's also always a good idea to see what other regular RPers are up to.
