[ARCHIVED] STEP Five: Become Involved

The East Pacific

Now that you know how to maintain your citizenship, here are multiple ways you can get involved in the East Pacific. The first that will be covered is the Executive Branch, which is the part of government which deals with day-to-day functions. You will also lean how to apply for the Magisterium.

The executive consists of Ministries, which are led by Ministers and appointed by the Delegate. They involve running the domestic affairs of our region, ranging from holding fun cultural events to managing relations with foreign relations. If you are interested in joining the Executive, simply a) Linkjoin our regional Discord, b) click "Make a Select", c) click "Executive Application Form", d) hit apply, and e) fill out the form! Any questions about joining can be directed via telegram to Altys or Libertanny.

The Ministries are listed below as follows:

Ministry of Culture (MoC)

Minister: American-Cascadia

The Ministry of Culture is the heart and soul of The East Pacific. They host the events, contests and other fun things for nations to compete in. They also work closely with The Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organize cross region events to help bring overall joy to NationStates.

Eastern Pacific Sovereign Army (EPSA)

Overseeing Officer: Zukchiva

The Eastern Pacific Sovereign Army is the regional army for The East Pacific, serving both domestically and in other regions to ensure peace and democracy get upheld in the world of NationStates, as well as conducting raids against hostile rouge regions threatening the safety of lesser democratic entities. University of The East Pacific (UTEP)

Chancellor: The confederated socialist states

UTEP is the academic center of the TEP community. Members of the staff take part in inspiring intellectual conversations that bring people together and move up the ranks to become respected contributors. UTEP is open to people of all ages and not just those in actual university. This ministry deals a great deal in out of character topics which requires a sensibility for civil discourse, the use of critical thinking, and respectful conduct.

Chief Ministry of Foreign Affairs (CMoFA)

Minister: Dremaur

The Chief Ministry of Foreign Affairs is tasked with upholding diplomatic relations with other regions within NationStates, especially regions which are The East Pacific's allies. They decide where TEP's embassies will open next, and which regions are allowed to have embassies within The East Pacific.

Ministry of Hospitality (MoH)

Minister: Libertanny

Heartfelt and meant as that is, it also sums up quite nicely what the Ministry of Hospitality does. We welcome you from our region, to our forum and to our Discord server. We invite you to become part of the community that The East Pacific is. Join us in the fun games and events. Or join us in some Role Play activity. Or get down to business and join our Executive (the Ministries) or the Magisterium (The East Pacific's legislative body). Or would you rather fight, for the greater good and glory of our region? Then join the Eastern Pacific Sovereign Army. It is all just a few clicks away, and we are here to help you make those clicks. Because YOU make The East Pacific the best Pacific.

Integration of new players and regional unity are a priority of the Government, with the Ministry taking the shape of it.

Ministry of News (MoN)

Minister: Albrook

The Ministry of News holds the responsibility for being the main supplier of news both internally and externally. They work closely with MoFA to propagate TEP's stories across to the regions The East Pacific are diplomatic allies. Due to the nature of what they cover and may be involved with, The Ministry of News members uphold tight confidentiality before stories are released. The Ministry of News also hosts the office of the Chronicler, who records major events in the region and occasionally runs historical research projects.

Chief Ministry of World Assembly (CMoWAA)

Minister: Cappedore

The Chief Ministry of World Assembly Affairs is tasked with discussing legislation within the World Assembly, representing The East Pacific through authorship and educating the citizens of TEP on matters of the World Assembly. They also direct citizens on how to get involved by writing legislation.

Chief Ministry of Regional Affairs (CMoRA)

Minister: East Malaysia

The Chief Ministry of Regional Affairs co-ordinates the efforts of the ministries of Culture, News and Hospitality, as well as helping out each ministry as needed. Often their work focuses on relieving pressure off each of these ministries by taking on more technical work like technology or accessibility of the Executive.

You can also join the Magisterium!

The Magisterium is the legislative branch of The East Pacific government. This branch deals with enacting, amending, and repealing laws (legally binding legislation) and resolutions (strong suggestions and opinions), and maintaining our constitution, the Concordat.

Joining the Magisterium means giving yourself a voice in the laws of the region, adding your unique opinions and suggestions to our government to make it better, representing the interests of the community by striving to change it for the better, and protecting the people through strong legislation. Every vote counts towards the betterment of the community and the security of the legislature against those who would seek to undo all the good the legislature can do. Joining the Magisterium means committing to voting as much as possible, and participating in discussions when time and energy permits. It takes very little and does very much.

To join the Magisterium, you must be a citizen, and you must make a Public Disclosure Form that lists all your NationStates nations and all your governmental positions within the region and without. Finally, you must recite the Magister's Pledge and supply your World Assembly nation, if applicable. If your WA nation is in The East Pacific, you can be accepted immediately, but if not, then the Magisterium votes on your admission.
