Political Geography

Sassos is divided into 11 Regions, based on the historical boundaries of the 11 tribes of the Mountains, and 2 Territories, (the ocean island territories, and the Capital Territory). The ocean island territory are 3 far flung regions of Sassos that were annexed after the Mehama Island Trials. They are 3 islands of roughly the same size, and 1 larger island in the center, with the capital of the territory on it. The territory has a moderate population of 300,000 people, 1/3 of which live in the capital (Bohara). The capital territory is a small 2 sq. kilometre section of land in the capital that contains the parliament buildings, the senate, and the courts of Sassos. The territories are the only places in the country that the federal government has a different level of involvement in local politics, directly governing over the capital territory, and every federal facet having less influence over the local government on the islands, aside from the courts of Sassos which hold the highest power across the country. The capital of Sassos is Ritchie, located on Ritchie Bay near the south of the country, it is also the trade hub of the country, with the. The largest city, and the economic heart of Sassos however is Lawrence, located on the shores of Hawksbury Inlet. With a population of 3 million, roughly 1/2 of Sasso's population lives in the greater Lawrence region. Other major cities include Cassiar, Sahtu, and Port Crerar.
