Convention of Ceuta

Convention translated to English: Convention

The Convention of Ceuta was a treaty between the Kingdom of Cingir and the Kingdom of Alfazemas that was concluded in Ceuta on the 20th of October, 1122, in which Queen Basil I of Alfazemas married King Badis II of Cingir. As a result, the two monarchs fused their kingdoms, setting the stage for the modern Kingdom of Silpes.

The fundamental terms of the treaty were:

-King Badis II would marry Queen Basil I.

-The two Kingdoms would remain separate until the death of one of the monarchs.

-Upon the death of one of the monarchs, The Kingdom of Alfazemas would be fused with the Kingdoms of Cingir, under the rule of the surviving monarch. The unified kingdom is to adopt the name of the kingdom of the ruling monarch.

-The first-born son of this smarriage would be the heir to the throne of the unified kingdom.

Upon the death of Queen Basil I during childbirth in 1123, King Badis became ruler of the two kingdoms, now unified under the Kingdom of Cingir.
