[Karma Delegate Election April/May 2020] Takura Answers the Public!

TAKI'S ANSWERS TO THE JIVA QUESTIONS!

Some of you sent our candidates some questions, some general, and some personal! Here's how Takura (Taki) answered them!

There were some fun questions...

How do you blow square balloons?

Taki: Quite simply, you make a square box, put a balloon inside. Then you surround it with dynamite and light it off. Congratulations, you have now blown a square balloon.

What lightsaber color would you have if you were a Jedi or sith?

Taki: If I were a Jedi I’d probably have a green lightsaber. If I were Sith it’d be red.

Does the rain in Spain stay mainly on the plain?

Taki: After digging through many almanacs and records of the weather of Spain, specifically on the plain, I can safely say no. Unfortunately not. It is my belief that the rain in Spain that falls on the plain spends most of its time in England doing it’s best to liven up the sad and dreary landscape. I cannot confirm if this admirable goal is successful, however.

... some serious questions for everyone...

What is your opinion on WA voting blocs? Will you be joining one? If so, which one?

Taki: They can be an effective way of getting things passed, but they’re also a risk because you lose autonomy. I don’t think I’ll be joining a voting block, but if it becomes obvious that it is for the best for Karma I might.

What makes a good or bad Delegate?

Taki: I think the mark of a good Delegate is involvement and dedication. A bad Delegate does not have these qualities.

What is the most urgent problem Karma needs to fix in terms of WA?

Taki: We don’t have a heavy emphasis on the WA, and it would be very beneficial for us to create that emphasis, so that we as a region are more involved.

How would your WA department look like and why should Karma have one?

Taki: Karma ought to have a WA department because this is a way for us to encourage involvement, which will lead to greater regional security and a lot more interesting discussions. It will look like a WA department. >.> It will be discussion-based, but a system of awards will be in place to encourage people to be involved in the discussion.

What is your previous experience with WA?

Taki: I’ve been a member of the WA.

Somebody you know wants nothing to do with WA, you want to convince them to get involved in it. How would you do that?

Taki: Badger them nicely until they do.

... and some questions for this candidate only!

You’ve already got a pretty big role as head of our welcoming committee and do a fantastic job of it… If elected, do you intend to maintain your duties as Guru of Chameleons?

Taki: If elected I do not intend to keep my Guruship of the Chameleons. I want to dedicate my energies toward the WA, so I will be suggesting a Chameleon that has shown extraordinary dedication and exemplified the department to be my successor.

Your Karma career has really been tied to one department only, the Chameleons, can you guarantee that the WA will be completely independent from them?

Taki: I cannot guarantee that simply because I trust that the Chameleons will be a force encouraging WA involvement, along with the WA department. However, the WA will have different objectives than the Chameleons.

You are involved in a lot of things in Karma already, Guru of the chameleons, RMB mod, part of the Augury and the events teams... If you're elected how can we be sure that your involvement with other parts of Karma won't hurt your dedication to being Delegate?

Taki: I am fairly confident that my involvement in everything but the Chameleons will not affect my ability to be a successful delegate since, while those things require attention and dedication, they are not so much a pull on my time as the Chameleons. However, as I stated above, once I am elected I will be turning over the Chameleons’ Guruship to an outstanding Chameleon and step down.
