News had reached the USST of the GTCX tower incident, and the result was shock and horror. For many, it brought back tragic memories of the bombing of Ugolin Tower, on the 17th of March, 1985, which killed 3,117 employees, and a further two hundred people when it collapsed days later, though this incident was significantly worse, not to mention the terroristic attacks that were being carried out across the USST almost weekly by the CYRM. Expressing their sorrows, Premier Arkady Rossovich had ordered elements of the Proletsnaz to the Federation of New Jaedonstan to help hunt down the perpetrators.

3rd of June, 2020.

As the Zvezdovist forces had been sent to fight against the communist forces in the east, the bulk of these forces had been Krasnodarian Zvezdovists, who in typical Krasnodarian fashion, had fanatically embraced the Zvezdovist ideal, and non-Zvezdovist communists were considered one of their greatest enemies.

The Federation's push against the communists was backed up by the USST, which had begun to fire more ICBMs at the region.

8th of June, 2020.

As the situation in the Federation of New Jaedonstan worsened, and news of foreign intervention in favor of the Three Entete spread, public opinion in the USST, as well as the UZR began to change. The Three Entete was considered an enemy of the USST, one that must be destroyed, and now foreign governments sought to help these hostile nations establish firm on the Evrosia-Tagrae continent, perhaps even bringing more hostile influence from the outside world.

Public opinion was indeed turning, and calls for outright war were beginning to ring out. Public opinions of the intervening nations began to drastically fall within the nation. The idea of interventionism was now for the first time gripping Tulovian and Zvezdovist society, for the alternative was to stand by and watch the nation's only friendly neighbor fall, creating a full encirclement of the UZR by hostile forces.

Airstrikes across the border began with increasing ferocity, and more people began trying to volunteer for the New Jaedonstonian conflict. Rumors circulated that the Revolutionary Council was seeking to bring to a vote more aid, perhaps even direct military intervention. But only time would tell.

RP: Northern Islands

Northern Islands

5th of February, 2020. The abnormal weather effects caused by the coronal mass ejection that struck northern Telrova, specifically Evrosia, a few years ago are showing themselves once again. Abnormal ice melts have occured in the Arctic Ocean, drawing special interest from the UZR in this time of uncertainty.

13th of February, 2020. As more blasts rocked the nation from terrorist attacks, much of the spotlight was distracted from the Arctic happenings.
USST satellites monitoring the situation have discovered new, unclaimed islands in the Arctic as much of the ice has receded. USST ships already in the area are reportedly on their way, and it is unclear as to if other nations have yet to discover these islands.

14th of February, 2020, Tulovian ships have been the first to land on these newly discovered islands and have planted the flag of the USST upon its soil. Other USST ships have likewise landed on the other newly discovered islands, and they have officially been declared to be territory of the United Socialist States of Tulov.

The future of these islands remains clear, but as of the 15th of February, 2020, the islands have been named Glasashk Ostrova. It is anticipated the islands will serve as a future military and naval installation for the nation.
1st of March, 2020. The Revolutionary Council has officially approved the new islands as a territory of the USST.
2nd of March, 2020. The first military outpost upon the island is partially complete, and has officially been named as "Ilianask", after the first High Priestess of the Rachitist religion.
3rd of March, 2020. The northernmost islands have officially been designated as a nuclear testing ground by current Premier of the USST, Arkady Rossovich. With an area now far from Tulovian civilization and trade routes, it is expected that Tulov shall for the first time commence with nuclear testing, though to what extent is up to guess, and will allow the USST to refine and fine tune its nuclear capabilities.

April has died, along with several thousand civilians and soldiers. The winter storms caused increased accidental deaths and exposure. Mid-April saw a Federalist push into northern rebel territory, assisted by Tulovian snow clearing teams and winter specialists. In addition, ICBMs from the UZR have stuck at several strategically important cities and forts along the northern border between the Three Entente and the Federalists. In addition, UZR volunteers have been deployed all along the conflict areas, acting in both support and attack roles. The Tulovian Air Militia is also teaming up with the NJAF to attempt to gain superiority over the nation. The pushes north saw little success beyond clearing attack pathways into the mountains. However, the Three Entente forces are seeing drastic slowdowns in their advancement towards the Federation capital.

May saw the involvement of a slew of new nations joining the conflict. The first was the Constitutional Monarchy of Tacklanda, who sent around five thousand troops and both naval and air support. The troops have been deployed in various support missions, relieving Federalist troops, and the air wings have joined the fight for supremacy. Following the election of a highly militarist and interventionist government in the Antartican Republic, the AR began a policy of intervention in the civil war. However, the AR has decided to support the Three Entente, sending fifteen thousand volunteers and various support vehicles and aircraft. Closely following the entrance of Antartican troops into the fight, the Elven Empire promised support for the Three Entente. Both nation’s troops have arrived in the Kingdom of Jaedonstan and are rushing to the front lines.

Mid-May saw more pushes from the west as the Three Entente’s reinforcements arrived on the front lines. The new support allowed the rebels to push deep into the Federation, past heavy defenses previously unassailable. In the east, the situation grows worse as the Corrennesian government has begun to scale back its support due to controversy and scandal. As a result, most Corrennesian forces have been relegated to support missions away from direct combat. This has weakened the positions held by the Federalists on the other side of the Eastraz River. The Freedhimists began a push west and managed to force a retreat back across the river. This is a large setback for the Federation. The UZR volunteers are currently being transitioned to combat roles as a result of the losses.

0932 hours 23 May 2020

Reports have come in of a fire in Gondolen Tower Complex, a large, three tower connected system used by several large companies as office space. This fire seems to be on the forty-third floor of the east tower, but few details are known. Fire departments across Traxa have been called in to put out the fire.

1002 hours

The reports have been confirmed, a large fire is raging on six floors of the east tower of the GTCX. The exact origin is unknown, but fire teams are mounting the tower to put out the fire and evacuate the building. Fortunately for the hundred and thirteen floors above the fire, the connection bridges are still viable for use and much of the upper floors have been evacuated.

1007 hours

Bystanders were shocked as a ground-shaking explosion ripped through the west tower of the GTCX, blasting the sixty-fifth floor, the site of one of the two connection bridges from the east to west towers. Fire and glass exploded outwards as the explosion was set off. Debris rained down on the onlookers below, who quickly were evacuated.

1032 hours

Several city blocks have been closed off as a result of the two fires. It is still unclear how the two explosions happened, but a few have speculated that a gas leak may have caused the recurring explosions. All gas has been shut off from the GTCX. The fire in both the east and west towers continues to rage as the towers are quickly being evacuated. However, an estimated two thousand workers are trapped above the fire level and cannot get out. The only hope is that the fire is extinguished quickly and the towers evacuated.

1044 hours

“And we’re back viewers. Havard Zotsky here, your faithful news reporter. We go now to our correspondent, Marii Gartra, who is covering the fires at the GTCX live. Marii?”

“Yeah, Havard, things are getting pretty heated down here. I’m standing here in front of the north tower of the GTCX, and, as you can see, the fires are spreading quickly, despite the best efforts of the Traxa fire department to keep them down. The structural integrity of the buildings continues to hold, but the city council has already sought advice from the city fire marshall about evacuating nearby buildings. As you can see now, the building is getting just covered in smoke from the… oh my god, are you seeing this? Havard, the north tower seems to have.. OH S…[camera goes dark].”

At 1044 hours, the north tower, the last undamaged building in the GTCX, suffered a cataclysmic explosion on its thirty-third through thirty-seventh floors. The massive explosion ripped through most of the support beams of the upper floors and caused the tower to buckle under its own weight. It leaned towards the eastern tower and crashed into the upper floors. The last few support beams, exposed and visibly bent, kept the tower from separating completely, but the collapse has had an estimated death toll of nearly six thousand. The trapped number within the three buildings is now estimated to be nearly twelve thousand, none of whom have very much chance of evacuation. The excessive heat from the fires, coupled with the ash clouds, has made helicopter evacuations impossible.

1136 hours

At 1136 hours, nearly two hours after the initial explosion, the north tower, by far the most damaged, collapsed. The last support beam snapped, sending a flurry of sparks and flames into the air, which was closely followed by the rest of the north tower crashing down on itself. Much of what had crashed into the east tower dislodged and was pulled downwards with the rest of the north tower. The collapse has caused an estimated seven thousand in casualties, with the number expected to increase. Firefighters have been called in from the outlying cities to attempt to stem the spread of the fire, but the east tower has more than ten floors engulfed in flames.

1149 hours

Thirteen minutes after the collapse of the north tower, the east tower, structurally damaged by the fire and the collapse of the north tower, buckled and shifted. The support beams snapped and the building imploded from its own weight. The connection bridges, some packed with fleeing people, shattered and snapped, falling with the tower. Bystanders were horrified by the sight of hundreds of people falling to their deaths. The west tower now stands alone, burning into the early afternoon.

1502 hours

Due to the efforts of the hardworking firefighters, the west tower’s fire was lessened, but a gas line break caused another miniature explosion which set the fire raging again. A few backdraft accidents have also caused more spreading of the fire. The heat within the building is estimated to be over a thousand degrees Celsius and most of what is left within the building is the bare steel structure. At 1502 hours, the west corner of the east tower collapsed, causing a chain reaction that led to the implosion of the entire tower. This last collapse restarted much of the fires in the surrounding debris from the other GTCX towers. The surrounding buildings have also suffered fire and structural damage and two other smaller buildings have collapsed.

1738 hours, May 25, 2020

The fire at the Gondolen Tower Complex in Traxa has finally been put out. The firefighters in the area continually attempted to douse the flames for two days straight. However, the fire in several other parts of the city nearby the GTCX continue to rage. Several smaller towers collapsed in the intervening days due to the massive structural damage caused by the collapse of the GTCX. Reports from ground zero speak of mass carnage and debris everywhere. Hundreds of nearby citizens have been rushed to hospitals in and around Traxa to be treated for smoke and debris inhalation and toxic exposure. A few lucky souls were saved from the debris, but only three have yet to be identified. All across the city and the war-torn nation, the people of New Jaedonstan mourn for the great loss and express anger at the attacks on their capital city. The Senate has issued a proclamation stating that whomever organized and carried out or assisted in the organization or act of terror or harbored anyone convicted of the organization or act will be tried and punished to the full extent of the law. Special police forces all across New Jaedonstan have been activiated and searches all over Traxa have been conducted. The Vizior has authorized the use of internal espionage to discover the attackers and Traxa has been placed under a curfew. In the coming days, the town council has stated that it will be placing the city in a state of emergency, in coordination with the district authorities. The devastating attack has taken an estimated twenty thousand civilian lives.

May 27, 2020

Another attack on the city of Traxa has placed the people in a state of panic. Only days after the GTCX attacks, now known as the May Massacre, a car bomb was detonated outside the Senate building in the late afternoon. Nothing more than an explosion, the bomb did little damage to the building and only injured four people outside the building. The bomb appears to have been accidentally set off early, considering the Senate was due to be released from session fourteen minutes later. Whatever the intent, the message is clear. The rebels will do anything to end the war in their favor. The city has been locked down and the Senate voted in an emergency session to dismiss themselves and vest power in the executive cabinet until the end of the hostilities. Many of the Senators left the country, heading to safe havens in other nations and in the outer colonies of New Jaedonstan. The now-widely-popular Aaron Gregorvich has been denied permission to return to the Federation and is forced to remain at hsi undisclosed location in Tulov. Vizior Sadek Slosky has expressed his outrage at the attacks, saying, “This is a blatant attack on the Federation’s freedom and is intended to spark a flame of fear among the people of our great nation. But we must not bow to fear. We must get up, look fear in the eye, and tell him he is not our master any more.” The nation has rallied behind the victims of the two attacks and bonded together with a rage and a lust for vengeance.

Barastan Day, the day the first New Jaedonstonain rebels attacked the communist Jaedonstan regime, dawned bright and early. The symbolism of the day was not lost on the many hundreds of thousands of men fighting. Nor was it lost on their commanders. The Federation commander on the eastern front ordered a full assault early in the morning against weak northern defenses along the Eastraz River. The attackers, consisting of mostly Zvezdovist troops, broke through the defenses and stormed across the river. Ground is rapidly being gained by the Federation and their allies as the communist forces rush to close the gap.

The Freedom of Movement Amendment has officially passed the Workers' Assembly with a vote of 281 - 32, and now moves on to the State Assembly, where it is expected to pass. With the passage of this amendment, the Family Growth Act was then brought to vote, and likewise passed with a vote of 289 - 24, and moves on to the State Assembly.

This will be the first amendment to the constitution to the United Socialist States of Tulov since the unification of the Tulovian nations, and predicting how the oblasts might vote upon this document is anyone's guess, but one thing is for certain in that the bill is widely popular amongst the populace, from Siria to Krim.

The Freedom of Movement Amendment has passed the State Assembly with a vote of 93 - 13, and will now be passed to the States where it remains uncertain if it will pass. The Family Growth Act was likewise brought to vote, passing with a vote of 82 - 24, and was forwarded immediately to the Rechyotnik Anna Belousova, who promptly signed the bill into law. The Family Growth act will officially come into effect as law on January 1st, 2020.

Voting on the Freedom of Movement amendment has now completed, with 47 oblasts voting in favor of the amendment and 6 voting against. The amendment was likewise signed by current Rechyotnik Anna Belousova, and as such the amendment is now law.

The Freedom of Movement amendment is now the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution of the United Socialist States of Tulov, as well as the very first amendment passed since Tulovian Unification. Celebrations have sprung up across the nation, and Militia forces are already beginning to enforce the new amendment in the eastern territories with minimal resistance.

We are willing to support the resistance with military and economic aid..." Marius and the other commanders were sitting in a conference I've how the Empire could help the rebels. Lieutenant Gravîon proposed to send Task Force Delta and the 2nd numbering some 175,000 men alone. The idea was promptly dismissed the Elven Republic had no ships left, the Elven Empire took the fleet to their sanctuary at Fleet of Oceans. The assembled members looked expectantly at Marius but Marius paid them no attention he was busy thinking, If he could make the Republic seem like an aggressive nation and also a failure at that. "I think," Marius said after careful deliberation, "we should send some of the 4th army which consists of 135,000 men, 200 MBTs, 600 APCs, 50 Artillery pieces and 750 CAS and Swing-role Fighters." Marius knew this was going to be a logistical nightmare, to have any chance of success he would need his old friend and the Fleet. It was decided that 12,000 Elves would go, 200 MBTs, 600 APCs and 400 Jets.

1 Day Later at the Elven-USL Floating City

Telrovian embraced Marius. "You're still alive" Marius choked he was overcome with emotion of seeing his oldest friend not dead at the bottom of he ocean with Prince Eristar but in fact well and about to deploy the Grand Fleet and the Elven Defence Fleet. "I am still alive old friend came the reply. Now why are you here?"Marius looked at him, I need the fleet to move an army." Telrovian looked curiously at hi, "Is the Consul planning to attack us?" Marius replied hastily "No no no. Nothing like that we're going to support some rebels in New Jaedonstan." Telrovian smiled I will trust you, the Elven Empire shall escort the convoy and ensure it's safety but we will not fight inthis war." Marius nodded "Very well and I have a request." "Speak" came the reply. "I want to come to the Empire after this is over, I was captured along with Valentine in the Battle of Ellesmere Palace, I want to finish the fight." "You really didn't need to ask" Telrovian replied.

4 Days Later

They were off the Fleet and Convoy met off the coast of he Dominion of Haimato where the fleet was in port re arming and refueling. They would arrive within a few days.

"It all begins with the beginning of the Jaedonstonian internal conflict, or, according to some sources, even earlier. The commanders of our armed forces had been anxious to test out new military equipment and doctrine in a "hot war" environment for decades, although the opportunity had never presented itself, confining the military to exercises both on its own and in conjunction with Tackandan forces. This understandably gave the Defense Department a particular burst of excitement upon hearing about the situation in New Jaedonstan, as it would provide them with an outlet to test much of their unproven personnel and materiel under real combat conditions, along with allowing them to contribute to the ever-vaunted goal of world peace. Soon after hostilities broke out in New Jaedonstan, several top commanders from all of the Corrinnesian military branches threw together a scaled plan for involvement in the conflict and secretly presented their ideas to members of the Assemblea Federale and President Michael Castilione. Despite eloquently arguing over the virtues of their strategy, they were turned down by most of those they had contacted, and were instead convinced to follow a strategy of non-combat support, sending supplies by sea and air to the Federation."

"However, this was not to the liking of these personnel, who secretly convened in late December of last year to brainstorm ways to escalate Corrinnesia's military involvment in the conflict. Ultimately they decided to engineer an incident involving "civilian" casualties that would leave little evidence, eventually leading them to settle on something involving an airliner, and over the next few weeks would work out the details of this deception. After "convincing" or bribing budgetary and oversight officials, members of the Assemblea Federale, airline executives, Servicio Federale de Inteligencia (Federal Intelligence Service) agents, and a number of patriotic civilians, they finally hatched a plan that was sure to set the whole country down the path to total war in New Jaedonstan, which was to go something like this: first, a civilian airliner from Corrinnair would be taken out of service for a few days as part of a "fleet upgrade program", outfitting it with military-grade surveillance and reconnaissance equipment; then, this aircraft would be put back into service with Corrinnair, and would be filled with humanitarian aid workers bound for the Jaedonstonian warzone, along with Fuerza Aerospaziale and SFI personnel to crew it and operate the newly-fitted sensor systems; it would then make the flight to New Jaedonstan, and would make a point to fly through Three Entente airspace while utilizing its sensor systems in a manner that would be highly conspicuous to military personnel but not civilians, provoking a response, most likely in the form of an interception; finally, the crew, pretending to be airline pilots, would deny that they were conducting clandestine reconnaissance and surveillance and refuse to alter their course, ultimately forcing the rebel airmen to shoot them down. This would quickly sway public and government opinion towards a full-scale military intervention in the conflict, ultimately allowing the military-industrial complex to run wild."

"As we all know, the plan worked like clockwork. The airliner was shot down by Three Entente interceptors, with no survivors, and no evidence left behind to reveal the true nature of Corrinnair Flight 3800. The government and the public reeled at the atrocity that the Jaedonstonian rebels had committed, and the Caspian Sea Resolution was passed, handing over virtually all power with which to prosecute the war to the President and the Defense Department. The military involvement was stepped up, and all seemed perfect, but this was not enough. In order to ensure that their machinations went unnoticed and that public opinion was swayed properly, those responsible for the conspiracy contacted dozens of workers in the Media Department, including those in our own Noticias Nationales de Corrinnesia, and threatened, blackmailed, or bribed them into following along with their plans and keeping the public 'blind and dumb' to the exact nature of combat operations in New Jaedonstan unless they were sufficiently stellar.
Even our own Cianetta Ocasio-Cortes was paid off, along with dozens of others who worked on this very show you are watching. Of particular importance to the plan were the news anchors, like Ms. Ocasio Cortes; they were to maintain the illusion of a massive involvement in the conflict even before it had been achieved, and to keep the details of the conflict vague, at best."

"All in all, this went rather smoothly, and still would be going strong, were it not for a handful of courageous whistle-blowers that were among those that had been threatened and bribed into silence, whose names we are not allowed to state for security reasons. They tipped off those in power who had not been brow-beaten into complying with the conspiracy, namely President Castilione himself, to what the military commanders had been doing. Immediately, the government cracked down on those responsible for the conspiracy, and it completely fell apart in a matter of days, with Carabinieri SWAT teams and SFI officers conducting frequent arrests and uncovering copious quantities of evidence, which they used to convict and sack dozens of those implicated in the plot. The Media Department and Noticias Nationales de Corrinnesia in particular has been targeted by these authorities, with many employees, including Cianetta Ocasio-Cortes, being fired and placed in Carabinieri custody."

"This upheaval has caused the government to experience one of the biggest internal crises of the century, with mass protests and riots and a noticeable drop in government efficiency with the sacking of hundreds of individuals within dozens of departments, including our own. Luckily, those responsible have been locked up, but for many, this has become an opportunity to launch a civil and political rights crusade, with many clamoring for greater government transparency and an end to corruption and the dominance of the military-industrial complex in politics. Even the radical Azure Vest movement, which has lain dormant for months, has returned in force to protest against the government. Whether their howls of protest are to be answered or suppressed remains to be seen."

"As for our troops in New Jaedonstan, their combat operations were greatly exaggerated in official reports and news bulletins. In fact, much of what was reported by Ms. Ocasio-Cortes and others was a distortion of the truth, if not outright lies. Rather than the '50,000 troops' that were referred to by our news anchors, a mere 10,000 were stationed in the country, and only a fraction of the armored vehicles, helicopters, and aircraft reported, although a large number are believed to be deployed. In fact, the only quantity that wasn't overstated was that of the naval involvement, with large numbers of ships being tied down for escort missions and patrols within Jaedonstonian waters; but even these ships didn't see anywhere near as much combat as official reports implied. As for the other combat operations, they were hot air too. Most of our troops in New Jaedonstan are being employed in humanitarian aid roles or rear-area security, and the 'raids' and 'assaults' that Cianetta mentioned were little more than 'search-and-destroy' patrols or recon sorties. The 'air strikes' are real though, although they are more limited in scope that what many anchors suggested. The 720 deaths that were mentioned in our last news report were also not the full picture. Of those deaths, most were as a result of operational accidents that were caused by unfamiliarity with Jaedonstonian terrain, and many died from wounds, both from combat and accidents, more that direct injury. Of the 720 deaths, about 100 are believed to be combat casualties. Whether these exaggerated figures represented what the Defense Department expected to have achieved sometime in the future or what they considered to be the 'upper limit' of operations in the country, we may never know."

As the Rechyotnik Anna Belousova has finally recovered enough from the assassination attempt in September, she has returned to the Rerli in the nation's capital, and has officially brought forth the Freedom of Movement amendment to the Constitution before the Revolutionary Council. The proposal, along with the Family Growth Act, were both postponed following the assassination attempt due to her leading role in both bills, and out a desire to have her present during the votes.

The bill is expected to pass the Workers' Assembly and the State Assembly with relative ease, but it is uncertain if the Oblasts will agree to ratify it.
Wow Freedom of Movement has been standard within the United Socialist States of Tulov since its founding, the incorporation of various Tulovian territories after the Thirteenth-Krasno Tulovian War proved difficult, as these were societies largely used to harsh regulations, restrictions, and boundaries. As such, the Freedom of Movement amendment was drafted to speed up and further help with the integration of these territories into the United Socialist States of Tulov, and to stamp out persisting attempts in these new territories to revert to their old systems.

Further, with the Rechyotnik's return, the Family Growth Act has been officially presented before the Revolutionary Council, and the Workers' Assembly is expected to vote on it following the vote on the Freedom of Movement amendment.

On April 4th, the 3rd Fleet of the AR steamed out of port, headed by a Laht-Battleship and 3 Valorum Class Carriers to provide support to either of the sides, the soldiers onboard ready to join the fight, and prepped for the winter conditions they specialized in, and all of the armor and aircraft being state of the art. In the capital, President Jesetta gave a speech on the need for intervention into the war to prevent the chaos from spreading, and to protect against Jaedonstan expansion. Minor protests were held across the country but were drowned out by the support for intervention. And meanwhile, in military plants across the nation, the nuclear program was started, with little work being necessary due to the abundance of nuclear technology.

In a separate speech to her own party, the President laid out the goals of the intervention. The main purpose was to secure a friendly government in the region and to weaken their rival of Jaedonstan. A full victory would not be necessary for success to be declared, and possible increases in troop and vehicle numbers, or pulling out, were on the table if the situation demanded it.

Just a few hours ago, Lucent Aviation revealed a new supersonic airliner, named the L-70. The new plane has an incredible cruising speed of 1480 m/s, it is able to cross the extreme distance between Phoenix and Permelia in just over 30 hours, and carry 32 passengers in comfort. The engines for this craft were specifically made for this craft, allowing for these insane speeds. Many larger airlines across NewArizona have already ordered a collective 23 of these new planes. The engines, hull and wings had to be made out of materials with extremely high melting points to counteract the extreme atmospheric friction.

April 13th, Tulovian Transport craft loaded with snowplows and other equipment for the speedy removal and clearing of snow take off from the United Socialist States of Tulov with civilian and militia volunteers to man them, escorted by Tulovian Fighter Aircraft as they made their way into New Jaedonstan.
Likewise, elements of the Tulovian Air Militia were beginning to transfer into the country, bombers, fighters, even AWACS were being moved. Many of the planes were clear veterans of the Thirteenth Krasno-Tulovian War, and others looked to be brand new, almost right off the assembly line.
Soon enough, bombing raids began to be carried out against the rebels in the west of New Jaedonstan, accompanied by fighter escorts of Tulovian and Krasnodarian origin, many more of which were veterans of hard earned stature in the last war.

Outskirts of Tula, April 17th.
A harsh snow storm blew and Tulovian Militia soldiers could be seen scrambling down a mountain road.
A large missile truck was slowly pulling around the corner, moving into position. As it finally came to a stop, the missile began to move, until it rested in the upright position. As the troops cleared away from the truck, a hellish fire erupted beneath the missile, and it flew off into the air, disappearing into the thick snow storm.
In another area, a train had come to a complete stop, and the top of two of its carts began to open. Two more missiles raised up, and fired shortly after.
From across Tulov, eight ICBMs had now been launched, proving that though their part was still very early into the war, the UZR was intent on seeing the rebels obliterated.

The war continues to grow hotter. The Battle of Eastraz in the east continues to rage, but no new developments have arisen. An attempt to push towards the Freedhimist capital from the north failed horribly and the Federalists were forced to retreat. The Corrinnesian troops had yet to see much fighting, but this push, named the Battle of the Fresnos River, placed them on the front lines as the Federalists began their withdrawal. The NJAF was also engaged in a heated battle above the Fresnos River for air superiority; the battle ended without a clear winner. Both sides lost large numbers of men and equipment in the battle. The communist forces, in attempting to follow the Federalists, became mostly trapped on the opposite side of the river and suffered from several attacks. However, the bulk of the Freedhimist army in the north crossed the river and forced the Federalists back. In the south, the Battle of Eastraz continues to rage as the Federalists attempt to push through the defenses. Reports show little progress and great cost and many fear complete failure.

In the west, the situation grows tenser. The Three Entente continue their push towards the capital and threaten the mountain pass separating the west coast from the rest of the nation. Many expect heavy casualties in taking and crossing the mountain passes. The NJAF continues to fight fiercely for continued air superiority in the west. The mostly untrained rebel air force is beginning to falter, especially in the face of an attack from the USST. In addition, the response of the USST to the border conflict shocked the Three Entente nations. They had expected the Tulovians to stick to their isolationist policies and keep out of the war, but their actions and swift response quickly disproved those expectations.

Indeed, the Tulovian government is seeking to support the Federalists in their defense. The Zvezdovist-Jaedonstonian Aid Agreement has been signed in Tula by the Premier of the UZR, Arkady Rossovich, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Aaron Gregorvich on March 4, 2020. The national community was relieved by the announcement. The agreement had already been put into effect; Jaedonstonain military economists have begun ordering parts, armor, and ammunition from Tulovian military factories. In addition, volunteers have been sent from various UZR nations and they are already beginning to deploy to the front lines, especially in the north.

April has come and the spring in New Jaedonstan has never been colder. The temperatures have hit record lows, in some northern places reaching in the negatives. Environmentalists and meteorologists alike blame the coronal mass ejection from Lumina A in 2017. The deathly low temperatures experienced on the Evrosian continent at that time could correlate to the downward trend in temperatures seen over the past few years. All fighting has ground to a halt as late-year snowfalls dump upwards of three feet of snow in the mountains and nearly seven inches in the northern plains. Soldiers, exposed to the frigid temperatures, are reportedly dying of hypothermia and frostbite by the dozens. In the south, refugees, fleeing from the conflict in the north, were caught by a weather front that quickly became a spring storm and dumped six and a half inches of freezing rain down on the hills. All over New Jaedonstan, travel and battle alike have frozen until the early spring storms end.

0800 hours, The final round of voting has concluded. At a vote of 72 in favor and 34 against, the bill has officially passed the State Assembly. Premier Arkady Rossovich stood ready within the Rerli, watching over the voting procedure alongside Rechyotnik Anna Belousova in anticipation of the bill's passage.

With the bill now passed, Rossovich has signed the bill, officially bringing the United Socialist States of Tulov and the Union of Zvezdovist Republics into the Jaedonstonian Civil War as a supporter of the Federation of New Jaedonstan.

As a result of the recent aerial clash, there were several within the Revolutionary Council who called for a full declaration of war, and many protesters outside demanding greater action. Still, their voices were not enough to convince the Revolutionary Council to greater action. It is anyone's guess what may happen next in this escalating civil war, especially as the Commissariat of War continues to move equipment into the southeast.

In Natroval, the civil war plaguing the country continues to rage with no end in sight, and the front lines have largely stalemated.

The Jaedonstonain government has confirmed that the Corrinnesian troops have arrived on the eastern front, fighting against the Communist Party. The Federation has yet to confirm or deny any reports about the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aaron Gregorvich, but several reports have been made about the Tulovian response to the rebel fighters. The Tulovian Air Militia promptly shot down the fighter aircraft and killed all of the pilots. The inexperienced rebel pilots were caught off-guard and were unable to quickly respond or retreat. The Tulovian government and people have gone up in arms about the border violation, sending tanks and weapons to their southeastern districts. Many Federalists hope this conflict will lead to a greater Tulovian involvement; some hope for full involvement of the UZR and a declaration of war. The Vizior confirms that Tulovian aid is being sought.

March of 2020 saw the beginning of the Battle of Eastraz, a huge, front-wide conflict stretching over several miles of land and including both ground and air operations. The Federalists and their Corrinnesian volunteers began this massive assault on the third of March at around 0700. A heavy artillery bombardment was followed by air-to-ground attacks and surging charges of soldiers. The outnumbered Communists fell back several times and a few hundred soldiers were encircled and captured within the first day. However, since the first assault, the battle has stalemated. The Freedhimists fell back to fortified positions along a tributary to the Eastraz River and fiercely defended the land. The battle continues to rage all along the Estraz River Valley and a push from the north is expected to break the Freedhimist lines. In the north and west, the battle goes less well. Federalist forces have been pushed back and the occupation borders of the Greater Jaedonstan Movement and the Kingdom of Jaedonstan have met. Furthermore, the Neo-Monzarkizts crushed Federalist defenses between Baraks and Telmark, capturing the 3rd Capital Defense Legion entirely. The Federalists fear that the combined forces of the two western members of the Three Entente will be enough to push through the Western Army and sack Traxa.

Already, people are beginning to flee into the countryside and the southern districts are reporting a massive influx of refugees.

At the end of March, the ragtag Three Entente Navy began an all-out engagement with the New Jaedontan Navy. The Battle for the Caspian Right, as it has been called, began March 20 at roughly 0400. What started out as a privateer engagement quickly devolved into a fleet battle. The NJN 1st Battle Fleet of the West, commanded by Admїral Takeir Kalinov, was comprised of two aircraft carriers, several missile cruisers, and a large number of destroyers and submarines. The rebel navy was unknown in number and class but was comprised mostly of destroyers and submarines. The battle, which raged for seventeen days, spanned the entire Caspian Sea between Ontustik and the Horn of New Jaedonstan in the southwest. The battle itself was comprised of several battles and skirmishes, as well as exchanges between land defenses and rebel ships. By early April, the 1st Battle Fleet of the West had managed to destroy most of the rebel fleet and scatter the rest. A number of flotillas are still hunting down the remnants of the rebel fleet, but the Vizior announced a Federalist victory and the end of rebel naval supremacy in the Caspian Sea.

Vizior Sadek Slosky sat back in his chair and sighed with relief. When he had received the letter from the Foreign Office, he had feared the worst. The government had not released anything pertaining to the disappearance of Minister Gregorvich simply because they knew next to nothing. However, the Vizior was glad to know that his minister was safe and that the negotiations between Tulov and New Jaedonstan would soon begin. He hoped they would just as soon end, especially with a favorable deal. The reports from the east sounded good, but the Freedhimists were ill-prepared for the war and his strategists had expected a quick defeat on that front. However, if the Battle of Eastraz failed to push the communists out of the war, the Federalists might face defeat. The Vizior walked to his window. The sun, setting over the beautiful metropolis that is Traxa, streaked the sky red. Like blood. Like the blood of the thousands of Jaedonstonians dying each day from the war. Slosky shook his head. He hoped Aaron knew what he was doing and could get the Tulovian support they so desperately needed. If not, he was better off in the hospital in Tulov. Slosky shook himself. He should stay positive minded. An alarm sounded, faintly at first, but rising to an ear-splitting screech. The air raid alarm again. Slosky sighed. Another night in that bunker he hated so much.

The Tulovian Air Militia had been ready for the arrival of Aaron Gregorovich into the United Socialist States of Tulov's airspace. Some form of conflict had been expected with the rebels, but the downing of the plane was never expected.

At an undeclared time, rebel aircraft violated the airspace of the United Socialist States of Tulov in pursuit of the aircraft.

"We shoot them all down." The Stantsiii responded. "They have violated the border, and now they will pay the price. Shoot every hostile plane on both sides. If you see any parachutes, gun them down. We will teach them that if they do not respect our border, then they will pay the price with every drop of blood they have."

As the dogfight raged overhead, Tulovian anti-aircraft systems were deployed, and the skies turned white with the vapor trails of missiles.

The local Militia had begun its search for the downed aircraft with the aid of helicopters, and under the guidance of the AWACS Liektovna.

It was not long before they discovered the downed plane and the wandering pilot, quickly moving to transport them out and away from the border, to a small and lightly armored militia jeep.

All hostile aircraft were reportedly downed in the ensuing battle, and the clear violation of the border has left much of the United Socialist States of Tulov in an uproar. Gun sales along the border states of Zvezdovsk, Pelitsk, and Tarelts have surged upwards by almost 230%, leaving stores in the area with empty shelves - even shoulder launched anti-aircraft missile systems and standard rocket launchers have sold out.

The uproar has likewise surged into the Revolutionary Council, and there is now a greater cry for armed intervention into the border state.

The Commissariat of War has reportedly begun moving more Air Militias into the border areas, and trains carrying tanks and armored vehicles have been seen moving across the nation, headed to the southeast.

The factions, consisting of nationalists, monarchists, and communists, have joined together in the Three Entente. The Federalists continue to fight against their rebellious former states, but the attacks are both relentless and widespread. The Kingdom of Markesan and forces from the Greater Jaedonstan Movement seized the Black Sea Canal, the only connection from the Caspian Sea to the Black Sea. The combined forces of the GJM and the Kingdom of Marakestan also attempted to seize the main New Jaedonstan Navy fleet docked in the Caspian Sea. However, the marines and seamen attached to the fleet refused to surrender the ships or commit any mutiny and opened fire on the rebels. Unable to damage the ships, the rebels were helpless as the fleet departed the docks and steamed out into the bay, all the while shelling the shoreline. The rebels reported heavy losses in the attempt. All along the front, heavy fighting continues day and night. The NJAF is heavily involved in bombing rebel forces, but several airfields and hundreds of aircraft have been seized by the rebels, including the largest airbase in the south, Ft. Tyril. There are several battles raging in the north, but little progress is being made. The eastern front seems to be doing much better for the Federalists, as the Communist Party is finding it difficult to garner both support and supplies. The least supported faction of the Three Entente, many, including some outspoken communist-socialists, state that their attempt at an uprising was ill-timed at best and detrimentally disastrous at worst. Several skirmishes have already been won by the Federalists. Some optimistic pundits proclaim that the war with the Communist Party will be over by the end of February. The Senate of the Federation of New Jaedonstan has also passed a new conscription law allowing for the conscription of three times as many men and women. Another fiasco has befallen the Federation. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aaron Gregorvich, has gone missing. Mr. Gregorvich was an instrumental part in negotiating the support agreement between the Federation and the Tulovian government; his connections and relative familiarity with the Tulovians pegged him as a obvious candidate for talks with the USST. He left Traxa yesterday aboard a stealth jet, escorted by a few high-altitude fighter jets. However, the rebel air force, patrolling the area, intercepted the convoy just east of the Tulovian border. A fight ensued in which it was reported that the Minister’s carrier was hit. However, the government has yet to release the whereabouts of the Minister or his status. The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs in Mr. Gregorvich’s absence is his protege Mikael Yakarin.

[[Secret IC]] Aaron Gregorvich’s escort had been shot down. His plane had been hit. He had been hounded by the rebel air force all the way to the Tulovian border. And yet he still continued. He was resting inside of his transport carrier, specially designed to fly high and undetected. Frustrated at the lack of respect for neutral airspace negotiations with the rebel forces, the Minister massaged his injured leg. When the pilots were forced to make a crash landing just beyond the Tulovian border, Gregorvich had been shaken loose from his seat and smashed against the opposite wall of the plane. He suspected that his leg was fractured or at least cracked. The pilots had both been knocked unconscious and only one had woken up since the crash. He had gone out to search for the nearest civilization. Gregorvich doubted that the pilot, uneducated in the Tulovian customs and language, would manage to get very much help. All the same, he figured some attempt was better than none. Overhead, he could hear the screech and roar of the enemy jets as they searched the area. He was sure their intrusion into Tulovian airspace would result in some kind of international repercussions. As he waited for the pilot to return with or without help, Gregorvich thought about the situation he was now in. His leg felt like it was on fire and it throbbed mercilessly. His position in the Federation government had been increasingly difficult the past few months, and the civil war had only increased the difficulty. His frustration with the Senate’s inability to avert the present crisis and its blindness to the cries of the people. Of course, he thought, the people were calling for a destruction of the Jaedonstonian way of life and a return to ancient barbarity. But the solid and stubborn attitude of the Senate seemed to only aggravate the internal affairs. The most recent election was a testimony to that. The Senate had once again been dominated by the Republikaz party, as usual, and Slosky had returned to his post as Vizior for the third time. However, some districts elected non-Republikazian Senators, one of which became the Karvik Senator. The Senate had firewalled too many new pieces of legislation, even ones that would help the people, simply because their opposition supported or proposed them. Seventeen sessions of the Senate had been filibustered by the Slosky government. Slosky, as diplomatic and charismatic as ever, stayed out of the fight between the parties. Gregorvich heard a crack from the woods outside the ruined plane. He now wished he had asked the pilot for a weapon. He heard someone hail the aircraft in Tulovian and breathed a sigh of relief. He replied, shouting that he was in the plane and was injured. Help had arrived at last. Gregorvich leaned his head back against the cold metal of the plane and sighed deeply. This was going to be a long war.

As the people of the United Socialist States of Tulov celebrated the 24th anniversary of the liberation of Tula from the Tulovian Kingdom, news of the rising conflict in neighboring New Jaedonstan was largely overshadowed in the public eye. It was not until the next day that the majority of Tulov would learn of the new crisis, and an official response would come from the Premier of the United Socialist States of Tulov.

"The United Socialist States of Tulov, and the Union of Zvezdovist Republics stand with the ruling government of the nation. We offer our support to the Federation of New Jaedonstan. It is my hope to reach an agreement to aid New Jaedonstan in their time of trouble, as they helped us in ours, and I hope that our Revolutionary Council will strive to do the same. In the days that followed, public sentiment was mixed on the situation. The Cold War with neighboring Auraxia and Kurczak Mielony had gone silent. Some believed that they might be the cause of this conflict, while most felt that the conflict was devoid of outside interference. As with Natroval, there was once again strong sentiment against sending any troops to the conflict, especially as the burden of the last war still loomed over the nation. Talk of possible air and missile strikes as a form of aid seemed to predominate among the Revolutionary Council.

In other news, Rechyotnik Anna Belousova of the United Socialist States of Tulov made her first public appearance since being shot during the Tula Liberation celebrations, where she was greeted with flowers and confetti.

Nonetheless, President Michael Castilione has attempted to assuage the general public by reminding them that it is the duty of the Corrinnese armed forces to support peace and order worldwide, and that even though New Jaedonstan may be far away, in today's globalized world, the geopolitical shockwaves caused by such a conflict could wreak havoc on Corrinnesian industries."

"Thus, on December 17, a fleet of 16 transport ships under Armada command set out from Puerto Orlando on the coast, filled with the latest Corrinnese small arms, munitions, military-grade sensor systems, and artillery, along with advisers from the Army, Armada, and Aerospace Force to train the Jaedonstonian troops in the use of such weapons and technology. Given Corrinnesia's international status as a noncombatant in the Civil War, the ships were unescorted. This was soon to cause repercussions, however, for at 1900 hours on December 19, as the fleet entered the Tamaran Ocean, they came under attack from as yet unidentified gunboats, presumably belonging to the Three Entente. Two of the ships were hijacked and much of their cargo was offloaded onto the gunboats before the Marines aboard the other ships were able to retaliate with enough firepower to drive off the enemy personnel. Some have declared this the worst catastrophe that the Armada has suffered in recent history, while some observers have gone so far as to claim that the only way the Armada could have been so inept during the crisis was if there had been a conspiracy to hand over the supplies to the Three Entente. However, these latter individuals have little evidence with which to support this claim, especially following the Armada's announcement that all supply ships headed for Jaedonstonian waters must be escorted by armed warships at all times."

"Notwithstanding, all of the remaining personnel and materiel were delivered to the Jaedonstonian armed forces on December 19 without further interruption, although this incident has lowered the public's confidence in the armed forces' ability to support the Federation. Nonetheless, the government's commitment to supporting New Jaedonstan has not wavered. In fact, some politicians have gone as far as to suggest direct combat intervention if the supplies do not make as much of an impact on the conflict as predicted, and if so, Corrinnesia is prepared to call for the support of its fellow member-states in the Commonwealth of Allied States in order to stabilize the situation."

On December 14, 2019, the Neo-Monzarkizt Party, formerly the Black Sea Party, led a political revolution against the Federation of New Jaedonstan. Claiming that the monarchy was the only true government to rule New Jaedonstan, they established a nation: the Kingdom of Jaedonstan. This kingdom, ruled by a monarch descended from the ancient lines of Marakestan, consists of the Black Sea District, Baraks, and Telmark. These three districts declared themselves independent from the Federation of New Jaedonstan and officially resigned their membership in the Federation. Following their open declaration of independence, the Kingdom of Jaedonstan declared open war against the Federation on December 16, claiming that they were intentionally suppressing the monarchist movement among the people. The Federation mobilized several thousand men of its standing army to besiege the rebellious states.

Following the example of the Kingdom of Jaedonstan, the long-dormant Communist Party rose up in the far eastern district, Eastraz, on December 23. Their revolution spilled over in the Kartev and the eastern half of Beliz. These districts also withdrew membership from the Federation, depriving it of another two and a half districts.

Hearing the news of the communist uprising in the east, the First Nationalizt Republikaz Party staged a coup in Northros and joined the Kingdom of Marakestan as a combatant against the Federation on December 24. Within four days of this last declaration, the three rebellious factions had met and discussed terms for a treaty. Another day produced the Treaty of the Three Entente. This treaty stipulated that each faction would fight to overcome the Federation and divvy up the land based on a fair agreement. Many, especially Federalists, viewed this treaty as a death toll for the Federation, but others held out hope that the conflicting ideologies of the three factions would lead to infighting and weaken the Three Entente.

The Federation has called out to its neighbors to assist in the raging civil war. For now, it appears that the Federation is managing to hold back the Three Entente. The Three Entente is also calling for support from the major nations surrounding the warring region.

Well, what a hectic weekend for our politicians! After the Senate passed the new Clean Initiatives Act on Thursday, the political commentators thought they had made a huge mistake. Many, including our own here at the NJNN, predict that the project will end in financial and literal failure. However, many of our Senators who pioneered the bill continue to hope for new and advanced technology breakthroughs. Many Senators have already voiced advanced support for a bill to incentivize “green economy” should viable technology be presented. Commentators and pundits were again surprised by the Senate on Friday with the admission of the district of Soltustik into the Federation. And even more surprising to the nation as a whole: the Senate managed to reach a quorum in less than a day and had almost unanimous support. The new district will enter the Federation officially on the first of June at noon, the first to do so since the Black Sea District in 1968. This morning was another shock for the pundits, commentators, and the general public. The Senate again announced the passage of a bill; this one to admit the sister-district of Soltustik: Ontustik. The historical record for the fastest quorum set on Friday was broken this morning; the Senate deliberated for a total of six hours and forty-three minutes on the new bill. Not only did the Senate set a record for the fastest quorum, but it also added to the historical record of unanimous Senate votes, bringing the total to four. The newest district will also be officially admitted on June 1st. Double celebrations are planned for June 1st and many predict that this event will mark a new age of prosperity for the nation.

Opposite of celebration and on the opposite side of the Caspian Sea, the infamous Black Sea Party has been tagged with a terrorist attack last Tuesday. The attack was a bombing of the Western House, the historic site of the signing of the bill to admit the district into the Federation. The building, almost a hundred years old, was also the administrative site of the Comrades Commandant, a governorship position during the communist era. The Black Sea Party has yet to come forward or claim the attack, but experts and police have uncovered several quantities of evidence suggesting the BSP was heavily involved. The attack left four dead and seven more in critical condition. Aside from these, an additional ten were injured. The building itself is mostly undamaged, as the blast was small. The police are currently attempting to trace the origin of the explosives used. Vizior Slosky has condemned these attacks, saying “they are an ineffective and violent attempt at communication and should be stopped immediately.”

As a result, the Armada has increased funding for the under-construction Supremacia-class supercarrier and her planned sister ship, a renewed production run for the Victoria-class fleet carrier currently in service, as well as the construction of a new Retribuzione-class ballistic missile submarine to augment the existing nuclear-deterrent fleet. The bill also includes plans for the acquisition of a navalized variant the YF-300 Folgore 6th generation multirole fighter currently being developed for use by the Aerospace Force."
