Lenqua's Legacy On the Rise

54

The increasing recent concern for the health of independent media in Polis Diamonil can be credited to a rising influence among a historically lesser of the Vox Demos' "Impoverished" factions: Lenqua's Legacy. This association of fans of an unusually timeless author in Polis Diamonil has never worshipped the progenitor of their ideas in quite the manner of the Daughters of Teyzaw, but nevertheless they have consistently remained in existence as minor contributors to the politics of Polis Diamonil.

A brief digression about what the Vox Demos classify as an 'Impoverished' voice of influence should be noted: the classification was originally named for the Voice of Poverty, whose motto is, "Those who heed the voice of poverty need not remain impoverished." The classification criteria for a faction to be considered "Impoverished" is not that they be literally impoverished, but that they should be concerned with both economic growth and egalitarianism.

Lenqua was an author long ago who, though committed in many ways to Polis Diamonil's society, nevertheless detested what were then-frequent gaps in the availability of modern technological resources (such as electricity). He was an advocate of expanding and modernizing the economy. Never politically influential in his own time, his writings nevertheless found durable roots among the nations' intelligentsia, with a small, competent fanbase and a fair amount of broader acknowledgment. Today, Lenqua's Legacy verges on anti-government in its inclinations, although they remain solidly within the window of politeness in Polis Diamonil's society.
