Grand Abacoan Navy Fleets

Fleets of Grand Abaco

There are 6 fleets within Grand Abaco, each having their own subclass of vessels allowed within their ranks. With that, there are 5 main standing fleets and one Special Response Unit. Each fleet and task force within that fleet, are designed with one major thing in mind, their area of operation. The AoO can vary wildly between fleets, and between different times.

The subdivision of a Fleet are Task Forces. Of those, there are a total of 19 Task Forces. These task forces have jurisdiction over portions of their main fleet's territory, although, they are regularly shifted, on a 4 month to a yearly basis, although they still operate the same naval base. Task Forces within the same fleet may sometimes operate out of different ports. But, those that do, are usually have territory based within Grand Abacoan territory. It is those that operate outside of Grand Abacoan territory that usually operate out of one base.

The differing role in task forces can judge how and what makeup of vessels they will receive. Task Forces under the 1st and 2nd Fleets, will hold more defensive and support vessels than ones that are more so focused on offensive roles. In addition, in each Fleet, there is one task force that is the head of the Fleet. Those task forces will have more vessels and personnel assigned to them, than the other task forces. Exceptions to this are Delta-15 and Upsilon-18 of the Fifth Fleet, and Theta-19 and Epsilon-20, of the 1st SRU Fleet. Such task forces are the most likely to take a leadership role in operations involving the GA Navy, as well as being the command center for the Fleets main body. Such is split up in cases like the Fifth Fleet, and each task force, within the 1st SRU, has its own autonomy.
