Brief History: In 2019, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party in Lebanon started to beat Hezbollah both at the polls, and soon later in control of towns and regions. Hezbollah became less popular in Lebanon as Islamism was blamed by the general public for recent economic downturn since the Arab golden age of the past century. The SSNP forced a referendum to join Syria through Parliament, which barely passed. In Syria, Bashar Al-Assad re brands the Arab Ba'ath Party of Syria as the United Syrian Social Nationalist Party after the referendum squezes by, and uses it as an excuse to fully annex Lebanon into the new Greater Syria. Fearing a move towards Secularism, Modernization, resentment against the government by Hezbollah supporting Shia citizens throughout Greater Syria has grown exponentially, and many observers predict that the resentment may grow into full blown violent insurgency against the Social Nationalist government, in favor of a return to Islamist Government. The Annexation is incredibly recent, and the international community has not yet responded after the shock.
