The Royal of Loutsland

The blood linage of the Royal family can be trace back to Sahqoven and his father Ulkin. Ulkin was a dragon and Saqoven was a half-dragon, and that's why dragon became Loutsland's symbol.

Since Sahqoven married a princess to succeed the throne, woman have rights of inheritance in Loutsland, and daughters have priority in succession than brothers. That's why there were queens in Loutsland's history.

However, females' right to succeed is only because of their bloodlines, which means their ability to rule is still questioned. Thus, if the old king has no sons but daughters, the throne shall be passed to his grandson rather than his daughter. If the daughter have no child, she need to rule with her husband together. If she's still unmarried she may rule alone, but will be encouraged to get married as soon as possible.

Bastards have no right to inherit, but they can be legitimized with the approval from the ruling monarch. This legitimization is rarely granted.

There are three Royal Regalia in Loutsland (quite like Japan): Fire Spirit (Sword), Crown of Kings, Scarlet Ring. Traditionally the three Royal Regalia shall only be held by the monarch, but King Arthur granted the permission to Duke Conrad (Duke of Kigal, his second son) of using Fire Spirit, and from then the Duke of Kigal may wield the sword.

The Sword belonged to Sahqoven before he arrived at Loutsland. It is a Mithril sword decorated by a ruby, most likely to be a gift or tribute given by the dwarfs to dragon. The Crown of Kings is a huge and heavy golden crown. After conquered the whole Loutsland, Sahqoven melted all crowns he took from those defeated petty kings and cast them into one crown. Since it is too heavy , the monarch only wear it at the succession ceremony. The Scarlet Ring is a gift from the Mage Tower. It brings people with strong magical power. If a non-Mage wears it, s/he could use magic as well. The ring is thus the most useful regalia so the monarch always wear it.
