(Outdated) Overview of the Gunners (S.P.E.C.I.A.L.)

"Who else is willing to take the risk?"

Who are the Gunners?

Founded by General Raybraun, it is rumored that it came from the settlement of Ronto, north of the Pre-War U.S, the Gunners later settled in New Jersey, becoming a ruthless and merciless mercenary company, accepting any contracts, as long as there are caps on the line.

How do we contract Gunners?

The Gunners accept any requests, as long as the pay is worth it and that the entire intel is released before the actual contract, there is no fixed price and it can be bartered.

Are they related to the Gunners from the Commonwealth?

Yes, the Commonwealth Gunners were the first step in expanding Gunner influence and sphere, led by Major Jefferies until his death at the Museum of Witchcraft, they went north to establish themselves in the Commonwealth, taking the GNN Network Plaza and later Quincy, though it ended terribly following Captain Wes' rise to power and the destruction of the detachment from the Minutemen, the Gunners learned from their mistakes and decided to expand south instead.

Bonuses: Large stock of T-45 and T-51, can give Power Armor training, has Vertibirds in stock.

Credits to Fifth Imperial Remnant for the following list.

They differ from raiders in their lack of drug dependency, use of superior equipment (they often come equipped with military-grade armor and rifles), extensive use of laser or plasma weaponry.

Plasma rifles or plasma casters are high-tech weapons which find numerous applications in military and industrial fields. They fire superheated bolts of plasma powered by either microfusion cells, heavy energy cells or plasma cartridges. The bolt forms in a special chamber, which is then sent down a superconducting barrel, propelled by, and in some models stabilized by electromagnetic claws upon exiting it.

The plasma bolt is a toroid of superheated hydrogen gas that delivers high levels of both thermal and kinetic energy damage to the target, melting through most types of armors and causing massive 3rd-degree and 4th-degree burns.

Plasma guns are a versatile urban warfare weapon that can be used as a pistol, sniper rifle, semi-auto rifle, assault rifle, shotgun or even a 'plasma flamethrower.

Plasma weaponry is rarely found held by Gunner Field Soldiers, and even rarer by Gunner guards or assassins due to its high cost and rarity in the wasteland, nonetheless finding a pristine one.

Laser Guns are high-tech weapons that emit a concentrated beam of coherent light, with sufficient wattage to do considerable damage. They can be powered by battery packs, fusion cells or cabled power systems, but most models use an internal capacitor, charged with microfusion cells.

The combat rifle and its variants are the most commonly issued gun for the Gunners. It takes .45 rounds though it can be modified to accept .38 rounds or .308 rounds.

Small, dependable, reasonably powerful and widely available, the 10mm Pistol has been a staple of Wasteland combat since the bombs first fell.

Fed from a side-mounted magazine, this gas-operated assault rifle has anti-aircraft style sights and a water-cooled jacket that shrouds the barrel and maintains its temperature under sustained fire, pumped using water stored in the weapon's telescoping stock. It includes a charging handle on the right and a carry handle on the top, all fashioned out of durable wood. It uses the 5.56 rounds.

Another weapon used by the Gunners. Use 12 gauge shotgun shells.

.45 Submachine Gun is a other common gun used by the Gunners

The minigun is a motorized Gatling-style rapid-fire weapon commonly employed by the military, or other lesser factions that managed to acquire such a weapon. Miniguns can be found as mounted door guns on Vertibirds or as a hand-held heavy assault and support weapon. It uses 5mm rounds as ammo.

The missile launcher is a very powerful weapon, able to kill groups of weaker enemies or take down a strong enemy with one shot.

The gun is a large, two-handed weapon consisting of four rotating barrels that fire red laser pulses through two lenses. It uses fusion cores for ammunition.

Freezes enemies in the blast

Fragmentation grenades are generally simple and effective. They are widely used throughout the Commonwealth.

A compact explosive that deals a powerful combination of ballistic damage and energy damage.

The pulse grenade emits a burst of energy that damages robotic enemies.

The Gunners also use mines with given variations and some melee weapons, mainly knives.

The assaultron robot was constructed by RobCo and sold to the US Military as a front-line wartime combatant. It is fast and deadly at close range, and employs a devastating laser at a distance. The dominator variant can enable stealth technology, though only two of the latter are in the Gunners' armory.

Mister Gutsy is a line of military robot models created by General Atomics International. It is a militarized version of the Type-I Mister Handy, an earlier civilian model robot created by the same company for use in household duties.

Sentry bots (military serial numbers SB-XXXX) are security robots made before the Great War with the express purpose of participating in the heaviest of firefights during the war. Where the Mister Gutsy is a hovering platform with modest armor plating, and the protectron was originally designed for protecting business premises, the sentry bot is a powerhouse, equipped with sturdy armor plating, powerful weapons integrated into its chassis and high mobility, thanks to mecanum wheels mounted on its three legs.

Power Armors
The Gunners make use of the T-45, T-51, and T-60 Power Armors, raided or scavenged from pre-war military outposts and facilities.

T-45 power armor was the first set of armor manufactured for military and to a lesser degree domestic and commercial use, most outpost commanders have atleast a full suit, minus the helmet.

T-51 was the most advanced power armor in wide commercial use before the outbreak of the Great War, commanding officers of large bases or outposts often wear these.

Developed in early 2077 after the Anchorage Reclamation, the T-60 series of power armor was designed to eventually replace the T-51 power armor as the pinnacle of powered armor technology in the U.S. military arsenal. Only high-ranking officers wield this juggernaut, General LanYork being one of them.
