Montirae are very powerful, they have the ability to harness energy from subatomic molecules within them and project it in unique ways. All montirae are born with an ability to harness one energy type, though some are stronger and others weaker. The whole of the Montirae are divided into three clans, Fyr'sael (the red-eyed) are the tanks of the montirae, posessing heightened levels of strength and durability. Eloryn are the blue-eyed, with heightened mental abilities and intellect. The yellow-eyed are speed and dexterity based, typically having lighter frames. Along with the arrival and succession of Atarka came the clanless, of which he is also a member, an elusive group of which little is known.

Monarche is a cold Nation, with jagged mountains and biting winds. The many skyscrapers and arcologies are designed to reflect the terrain, so they almost look natural.
